The problem is my fellow that once you start putting into practice what the Buddha taught it becomes very difficult to remain fixed in faith and assured within another religion, regardless of whether you consider buddhism a religion or something else. Too difficult to remain part of a religion that tells me my creator is a jealous creator or that only through his sacrifice and faith in him can I find meaning and salvation. I'm done with that bs!
i like Buddhists, they dont try to kill you for being different, they dont try and annoy you with prayers saying "so sorry that your going to hell", they dont force their beliefs down anyone's throat, and overall are just very kind people. if only all religious/spiritual belief systems worked like that instead of religions that are about child sacrifice, slavery, murder, rape, genocide, etc.
There are lots of Christians that don't force their beliefs onto non-believers, in fact the vast majority of Christians fall into that benign category. Having spent all my life in a number of different European countries, I've never even once in any way whatsoever felt intimidated or "attacked" by any Christian individual or group. I've never had any Christian say to me that I'm going to hell or even that I'm a bad person for not being Christian. I remember my school's holiday celebrations in the local church with a lot of fondness, no indoctrination whatsoever, just a nice atmosphere and a great childhood memory. Now, as an adult and an agnostic, I can say that I find myself far more attacked and annoyed by aggressive narrowminded atheists who want to spread their materialist "gospel" all over the Internet and have zero respect for dissenting views and opinions. Quite a narrow-minded bunch, they make Jehova's Witnesses pale in comparison...
***** one of the biggest problems i have with religion is how parents brain wash their children with it. children should be at a certain age so they can observe both science and religion then choose for themselves which makes more sense. another is how it influences people's moral choices thus effecting the government's law and decision making which then effects everyone else. a women has the right to her own body and if a guy wants to marry a guy there is no problem there, but the bible and other religions say otherwise and try to control people. also, if someone were to start talking to their imaginary friend in public, they would think he is crazy but if that person just puts their hands together its suddenly ok because hes talking to a god (still just an imaginary friend). religion is just public acceptance of contagious mental illness and many of us atheists are disgusted at how stupid people purposely make themselves.
Correction: All religions have their flaws. Christians have the Crusades, Muslim atrocities are well documented in the 21st century, and you only have to look to Myanmar to see Buddhism's violence. It's not the religion that is the problem - it's the believers.

Its true Budda was born on Kapilbastu, Lumbani which currently lies in Nepal, the country of Mount Everest. Neither Kapilbastu nor Nepal is any part of India. Nepal is just Nepal known as birth place of Buddha ( Siddhartha Gautam)
lord buddha was born when kirat was ruling nepal. lord buddha came to kathmandu valley when 7th kirati king was ruling. kirat king welcomed lord buddha and ever since buddhism has survived in nepal and spread to the world.
So we can call ordinary people a "Lord" as an honorific title, as a term of respect, but not an extraordinary human being such as the buddha. You are quite the idiot aren't you?
Happy to see this discovery. In my view, it doesn't matter when and where exactly Buddha was born, all it matters is what he left / taught us. In fact, Buddha's teaching about the rules of karma (Simply: you reap what you sow) have in deed changed or influenced a lot of people (including me). The rules are always true to the world and they will never change. Anyway, happy to see this. Wish you guys all the best!
Many visitors miss to visit the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, Lumbini, whenever they visit Nepal 🌸❤️ It's such a place of peace. In real, Lumbini is huge. It takes almost 2 days to visit all sites of Lumbini, Kapailvastu
Is false, Buddha was born in India, lived in India, Got Enlightened in India and passed away in India. Its false knowledge and crooked flimsy evidence from Unesco that Buddha was born in Lumbini, ni place called lumbini ever existed in the Buddha's time and he spoke and taught Pali, a language native to Odisha region of India.
I dont understand why there seems to be a religious war on this comment page. Buddha said to allow people to believe in any religion people want to and don't try to forcefully convert them or discriminate them for what they believe in. so just let people believe in what ever they want to. It doesn't affect you and just enjoy the video
Non violence and Unconditional love to ALL beings, physical, non physical, this planet and other planets above, below across...That's the teaching of Buddha and that's the essence of Dhamma (teachings) ...and that's my wish to you all...
Buddhism is a Science of all Sciences. It is a true religion as a way of life and working with Philosophy and Science. Buddha said Ehipassiko : "which you can come and see" - from the phrase ehi, paśya : "come, see!". The Dhamma (Buddhism) invites all beings to put it to the test and come see for themselves.
...when we look into the past ...we see how we lost our true nature..when we look into the future we(buddhist) are filled with confidence that we wil regain it.
What makes it not a problem for Buddhists to look into the past, is the fact that they have not committed any Major atrocities in history. Which just adds another reason, as to why they're humble. To me, I think its total outlook, revolves around that word, humble. To become humble, with knowledge and wisdom, while attaining the utmost Respect for all. I will say, that I am disappointed in this clip because, it does not specify how Buddha's birth was earlier than suspected. It even states how, 600b.c. was already theorized but, I guess this carbon dating of the ash, just reinforces that hypothesis. They also said how 300b.c. is a suspected year of birth, and if that date were concluded in these carbon dating tests, it definitely would've been a far earlier date that would deserve this title that this video was given.
Actually Buddhism in places like Bhutan and Tibet has a long history of battles and attacks of monasteries and Dalai Lamas trying to take control of areas and control how Buddhism is taught and such.
Buddhists in Myanmar are waging war against the tiny Muslim minority right now! Sinhalese Buddhists persecuted and in some instances massacred the Tamil Hindu minority! Yeah, Buddhists have never committed atrocities!!
Jain genocide and destruction of their temples , hindu genocide and destruction of their temples. That was done. Then, hindus regrouped and threw away extremist buddhists from India. Then in modern times, Tamil genocide in Srilanka, Rohingya genocide in Myanmar.
There was no Nepal nor India at that time. Who are you trying to lie to??? is it really hard to understand that concept. Or you have an ulterior motive?

@Rhythm India was replete with "independant" kingdoms during that and succeeding periods, even during the period of when the British East India Company were present. It has always had kingdoms with their own "independent" maharajas. But ALL such kingdoms were part of India culturally, racially, linguistically, socially, and significantly, geographically. The modern nation state of Nepal is a relatively recent phenomenon and certainly did not exist in Lord Buddha's time. Put your stupid nationalism to one side. That's all. This strand was purely in connection with that original question and the answer I gave, but somehow your comment which didn't seem connected to her question or my answer got mixed in. This will have to be my last comment now as I'm pretty busy. Best wishes.

Buddhism is a combination of both speculative and scientific philosophy. It advocates the scientific method and pursues that to a finality that may be called Rationalistic. In it are to be found answers to such questions of interest as: 'What is mind and matter? Of them, which is of greater importance? Is the universe moving towards a goal? What is man's position? Is there living that is noble?' It takes up where science cannot lead because of the limitations of the latter's instruments. Its conquests are those of the mind -Bertrand Russell

@@alangervasis you clearly know nothing about archiological evidence in India. There are more archiological evidence for Buddha's existence than any other religious teacher.
Buddhism is not a religion. It is a teaching from an enlightened Teacher. A way of life. Buddha is not a god nor is he an all powerful being with miracle power, he was and is only a Teacher.
Buddha was Born in 1900 BC. There are many ancient relics of Buddha's Hair,, teeth, etc. which can be carbon dated. There more banyan trees growing inside Buddhist temples which are farfarfar older 600 BC
But buddhists monks will not allow them to be tested because all of them are fake. Buddha probably didn't exist. We don't have any definitive archeological evidence. Even the Ashoka Pillars are written after 200 years after his supposed death. Even his Biography "Buddhacaritha" is written after 600 years his supposed death in 2nd century CE.
@@alangervasis You're right in a way because the Buddha didn't claim ownership or authorship of what we call "Buddhism" (he probably called it "paticcasamuppada" or "dependent origination", himself) or claim that he should be worshipped as a god, etc. All he did was decipher nature and its existence in a way that mostly applies to humans. He also didn't want anyone to take his or anyone's word without self verification (Kalama Sutra). So, if he existed, if so when, etc. are inconsequential questions to someone who wants to practice "Buddhism" just the same way a scientific publication is accepted based on the merits of its contribution and not on whether or not a scientist wrote it or if a machine generated it purely by chance. However... Saying a Buddha didn't exist has the same basis as saying Earth is the only planet with life.

We must trust in science, the archaeology. The texts which were written very long after Ashoka how can they give exact date? Are there any key terms in the original Pali Canon? I think yes! There are few key words that can support the date of archaeology of Dr. Coningham. I have read the report of Dr. Coningham, he clearly dates Buddha between 8th and 6th century. National Geography and others seem mispresenting the new dating of the Buddha. Dr. Coningham et al clearly say 300 years before than previously thought. Most of people believe Buddha was born 563 that means Dr. Coningham means 563+300=863 BC. And this date is backed by the key words that I have found in the main Pali Tipitika.

vinoth vin : response - please stop being chauvinistic - Sumerian, Egyptian and Chinese civilizations were much older than what Hindus call their 5000 year history, and India's first settlers, the tribal people, inhabited this area long before that - 40-70,000 years earlier! Do they not have civilisations? Their languages belong to completely different language families whereas Sanskrit of the so-called Hindu Sanatanis is an Indo-European language, kin to both ancient Iranian and Latin - old German and English.

I have made the amendment. Forgive, all this has gotten a little too complicated. My point was that 'someone' who yes was 'Izabel EakapuI' asked a question and I simply answered their question.

Its conquests are those of the mind

Filthy Linddu, what happened to you, nothing to show your original? 😂😂😂
Buddha is history
Ram is mythology
Buddha is a fictional character created by Ashoka
What's so strange is the proof of Buddha's existence even though it was so long before Jesus. There isn't much to prove Jesus existed. I'm really puzzled...!!!
@@tukayz254 where?

Budha Was Born In Nepal ✌💕✌
There was no Nepal back then. It makes zero sense to say he was born in a country that didn't even exist when he was alive, that's the most moronic thing iv heard. Modern day Nepal was no different than any other land in ancient India. The people were hindu and spoke a Sanskrit language it was indistinguishable from any other Indian region. Nepali people really need to get off this high horse and stop claiming the Buddah was born in a country that didn't even exist in his time. Also just because a lot of Nepali people hate the Indian government that doesn't mean you should hate Indian people. A lot of Indian people aren't happy with the Indian government too.
@@SunnySide388 India always try to steal the proud of nepal and other country that's why so many of Nepalese hate indian government example is lord buddha, the first person to climb on everest tenzin norway, and so many of hindu kings and God's were born in nepal but India always try to steal the proud and say that they were from India and you say that there was no nepal at that time so what about india was not there back then too
@@SunnySide388 Thank you for that comment. You really hit the nail on the head there!
@@hellogiri856 look for a start I'm not Indian. Might I suggest you take an unbiased look at India's ancient history. Perhaps you will then understand that the history and culture of the region you come from is inextricably bound up in the history and culture of an amazing country called India. You can then feel proud of that. You and your country are in no way diminished. Your Mother country may be Nepal, but the whole region of the subcontinent is part of Grandmother India, in who's loving arms our mother countries were lovingly nurtured and taught to love and respect all that was good and true.

To all Nepali brothers here. Yes, Buddha was born in Nepal. Now move on.
It’s not about moving on or holding back it’s about the truth being fabricated
TO all my fellow nepalese brothers. getting modern education and spiritual education is different. both teach different things in different way...SIDHARTH GAUTAM was born in lumbini nepal but BUDDHA was born out of him in INDIA and he died in india. Krishna was born of devaki womb but he was always called yashoda son. sometimes i feel sorry for nepalese hindus. they are forgetting their original roots. stop living in communism paradise.
At least you seem to have a deeper understanding. I think Maoism and anti high casteism is having a very bad cultural impact in Nepal.
We were always taught it was 6th century BC… at least in the 1980’s. This Parallels humanist philosophy in Greece ( you can’t step in the same river twice… impermanence).
Yes, thats what I was surprised about. We were always taught it was 600 BC😂😂😂😂
Buddhusm start from nepal
From India son!
Buddhism started in india
Mountain climbing start from Nepal, nothing else, sorry son!
@@lt8865 stfu India didn't existed at that time you guy say that Nepal didn't existed
While Indian Hindu scholars date Buddha age on the basis of Purans and extend Buddha's date before 18th century BC in contrast western scholars date Buddha at the same age of Alexander. Both seem biased Indian scholars want show that Indian culture and religions are the oldest but in contrast western scholars what to show that rest of worlds learnt from Greece. And this date is backed by the key words that I have found in the main Pali Tipitika.
budda was born in Nepal
No has wasn't. He was born in India
Why you are not doing search in east Sri Lanka ? There are lots of ruins and marvelous caves where monks meditate. The buddha was not materialize so his followers, lived near to nature most of his life. The huge buildings may be build later by who inspired with this beautiful phphilosophy .
Budha was born in lumbini nepal namo budha

Buddha was born in nepal.
Maybe. But only problem is that Nepal is very new country so it cannot be land of Buddha's birth. I'm from US and all students know that India is land of Buddha's birth. Nice try in trying to deceive people with your lies!
Sry In the world 1st religion is hindu.not islam.
Hinduism is not the first religion in the world if that is what you mean.
That's true, but credit is given for it being the world's oldest surviving religion.
vinoth vin : response - please stop being chauvinistic - Sumerian, Egyptian and Chinese civilizations were much older than what Hindus call their 5000 year history, and India's first settlers, the tribal people, inhabited this area long before that - 40-70,000 years earlier! Do they not have civilisations? Their languages belong to completely different language families whereas Sanskrit of the so-called Hindu Sanatanis is an Indo-European language, kin to both ancient Iranian and Latin - old German and English. 'Daughter' is the same as 'Duhitri', she who milks the cows, in Vedic speech. All cultures from Sumer to the Vedic people do of course refer to many much earlier events and origins.
I'm mix thai and chinese and the biggest difference is that chinese way of teaching Buddha is very different like i rarely seen they pray to buddha but instead pray to other some type of human figures that doesn't seem to be related to buddha at all and I'm always confuse to which one should i follow???follow the thai way or chinese way??I'm not a religious guy so that why I'm still confuse till this day
Thai is more authentic as compared to chinese one but the most authentic ones are sri lankan indian nepal
Do not follow the chinese one...It is a mythical thing...please do follow Therawada Buddhism. In Sri Lanka , Thailand , Myanmar you will find it
Buddha is Great 👍
Fun fact is , everyone is buddha and they think buddha is a person who lived in ancient times.
Buddha = means who is awakened .
Before buddha there were many Buddha's and after him there will be many .
Don't be in illusion of archeological ..it makes you more human and buddha more godly .
The scriptures say it was 2500 years ago. This confirms their authenticity.
Buddha himself is mine absolutely coz his birthplace is my country.... Buddha himself is mine absolutely coz he got enlightened in my country........ I feel proud... I feel proud....... Even if I don't follow his teachings or not any relationship with him in my everyday life... I am reluctant to say I am a Buddhist yet I proud of him.. I can quarrel for him fiercely though I never want to know his teachings...... Haaahaaaa a... Really astonishing remarks are those points....... When the world saw the destruction of Bamyan Buddha.. No one is there yet his teachings are everywhere.... He is not mine absolutely................
