I listen that kind of zappy laser perc the first time on the single ( BAD from Michael Jackson ) in fact the album (computer world) and (trans europ express) make all the hip hop scene mad and crazy in the US every kind of electro funk start with those Kraftwerk German band not only the Detroit Techno scene it was obvious that this and the Yellow Magic Orchestra have a huge impact on MJ taste for making new pop songs ...
That’s a hilarious nickname which I am now going to use - juicy oil french fries! 😂
@@DistortThePreampfor the same reason , i also associate a distorted guitar solo with the term of ( Noodle ) apparently ( noodling ) a guitar is as term, maybe i associate too much food with sound , i have a strange obscession as a kid ...
Came for the electronics, infatuated with the watch… what is it?
Oh, I think it’s by a brand called Ice. The rumour was that Rolex didn’t patent their design for silicon watches (which doesn’t sound very likely) so this is essentially a silicon Rolex design. It was given to me as a present but I’m going to guess it was cheaper than a Rolex 😂
Same sort of principle as a Dub siren I think.
Yeah, exactly the same except you module the cutoff frequency (ie the pitch) with the LFO. So turn the filter envelope off, set the LFO to a triangle shape, then use the speed and depth to get all the sirens a body needs!
You're making me sad. My old Ensoniq SQ-80 has lower fidelity digital oscillators and envelopes and cannot do proper zaps. It totally quantizes.
Ah, this is true, although you get *a lot* of compensation. It’s a pretty great machine…
Kool viteo, viele zank you!
(And, again, "Kraftwerk" is to be pronounced "kraftVerk". Forget it's a W, think of it as a V 🙂 )
Sorry! Did I use the soft ‘w’? That’s my mistake and I should have done better!
@@DistortThePreamp No problemos, mate, every YT channel needs a prig. Today it was my turn 😆
😂😂😂
it's not called a "Zap" it's called a "Blip"
