This is like how it was playing in the Orchestra Pit in my high school band. We had to overlap several pieces of music and had to use multiples of the same instruments to make sure it was all covered, because we literally built ourselves into the pit and couldn't move without having to at least partially disassemble our setups. Be changing key on the timpani while playing a bell part while getting a cymbal roll with a multi-mallet grip while blowing an ACME siren... Usual multi-percussion stuff, adapt and overcome.
Speaking as a former marching cymbal player, by far the most talented percussionist was the guy on the suspended cymbal. His ability to read that sheet music and play that part was beyond amazing!
My freshman year of HS we had a 3 man drumline. 1 snare, 1 tenor, and 1 guy playing all 4 bases on a stand like a set of timpani in the middle of the field. It was interesting lol
I often times feel very similar to this because I was on base 2 both this year and last year and everyone else is new. It’s also really annoying because at any point in time we’re missing at least half of our base drums so I end up playing bases 1, 2, and 3 (on stands of course) and then when we have to play at a game we suck because nobody but me and base 4 show up to rehearsal.
Ahhh see you don't have this problem when you go to a AAA school or better. . My school was 3A and we had 75 people.. our drumline had 3 snares 3 tenors and 5 basses with me being the captain of course! But props to those little bands that really have no choice but to go perform with what they have !
Good morning and this is video number 227 of asking for marchable bass drums, set up in a tenor formation. I.e. benor drums. PS: custom backbar may be needed

Bruh there are two percussionists.
2 percussionists, you are right. But, one would be considered front ensemble, the pit, and emc is drumline.
