I have a 2012 and absolutely love it. It's definitely not as peppy as the 6 cylinder, but I don't need it to be. It does handle nice, though. For a regular car that looks great and has just the right cockpit feel, it's perfect for me.
Considering buying one, though I am tall and have heard there can problems with comfortability if you have some height. Someone said they had to go to the chiropractor because of it. Can it really be that uncomfortable, do you know?
A fairly decent review. These cars were never big sellers by the 4th generation and this review filled in a lot of info in a short space. I liked that you were honest about the car but as is often the case on these UA-cam videos, sound quality and/or volume was uneven. Not sure the novelty is worth the disastrous depreciation or the slightly below par fuel economy numbers. But at least most dealers that are selling these Eclipses are willing to deal.
I use to have a 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS and it was an amazing car, I actually miss driving in it, it was totaled when someone hit me on the freeway. 😓
The GS version of this car is not good, due to the weight of the car and the 4 cylinder engine. The GT on the other hand is a lot better car and fun to drive. I've drove both and 6 years ago bought a 2010 Eclipse GT, and still love it today.
@@Jesus-yr7nk To get to school and basic driving around the GS is a great car. But if you want a fun car, with enough HP for quick passing on the road, then the GT does not disappoint. I still drive my GT and love it.
Thank you for the review. Answered a few questions I had, especially about the interior and interior quality. I was never expecting it to be a premium interior, but it seems good enough for the price range and what it is. How would you describe the noise inside that cabin when cruising on the highway (65-75 mph)? It might be a dealbreaker if it is just too loud and "drone'y" at highway speeds, as the person who would drive it does go on longer drives (2-3 hour) once in a while.
mannybianco I wasn't able to get the car up to 75 mph only about 60 mph it wasn't droning, but keep in mind it's a 4 speed automatic transmission so your RPM at that speed will be quite high. The noise to me was tolerable, but that's just me. I would say it also depends on the particular car you are driving because the wheels and tires as well as suspension and engine health matter a lot. This car was perfectly tolerable.
I own one of these. It has 5 gears? It's actually quiet on the freeway when you are up to speed! Just get good tires that don't make that annoying drone noise. I have had this car for like 5 years now and think it's amazing. Bought it used with low miles and have over 70k with zero issues so far.

Hi I also have 2012 eclipse spyder se. convertible.My car I purchased in 2012 after severe hail storm we had in 2014.I was driving a 2008 gs sport eclipse.Well thank God there was still a few around.I was so devastated the insurance totaled my car with 39000 miles.I was not in the mood to shop for another car .I had just money on tires all around lifetime alignment new battery.I was ready to drive her.2008 purchase with 18000 miles.2012 purhased with 1784 miles.Tofay she just has 46000 .I am getting to move to Arizona and I can't wait to drive out there.Would u know of anyone who would need a cargo cover I have a brand new one.Solid black.Price negotiations available.I lobe my eclipse.

Shift into D and move the stick where the +&- should be
When ypure turning the gear do you have to be in a complete stop before switching or you can just switch gears without harming the engine?
The huge dashboard is not hard plastic
Is there any button u can push behind the steering wheel to be able to change gears when u put it in sport mode?
