Mistake? You mean enjoying the game and having a normal farm :>
Hey you forgot that the quarry is really safe for your machine
*joja?
Jojos Bizzare Adventure: Farming is Relatively Uneventful
Where eyes of heaven
The biggest mistake you can make in Stardew is focus on efficiency so hard that you forget to enjoy the game.
Did this when i first started. Burned out within a month. Finally started getting back into it and im actually enjoying it since im not maximizing my farm.
Exactly what are you going to do with 10s of millions of gold?
@@johnnyknadler1157 Make tens of trillions.
@@michaelleue7594 then what will you do after that?
I've never made it past summer.
Between my "Do the whole mines in Spring" run, the time I had so many crops growing in summer I had to actively fish to get the energy to water everything.
The several coop runs maximized to never sleep until like right on the dot of 2AM.
And this one time me and my Fiance modded the game to stop time at midnight so we could maximize every single day.
I have always managed to completely burn myself out either before Fall, or on like, Fall 3rd.
My current run is specifically me trying to take things so stupidly casual that I can't lose interest, and I think I'm losing interest because it's too casual.
This is like the "you know what would make this village a whole lot better? A Walmart parking lot" joke
A jojamart parking lot would go great here!!
What a fascinating waterfall!!
But something is missing...
You're right! ,a McDonald's drivethough.
"Imagine an industrial zone here 😍"
"Near the endgame, you want to focus on efficiency. So put all your machines a 20 minute commute away to save 15 spaces."
Also, I have a Forest farm. I have more than enough non-farmable space to put those huts full of Kegs.
lol exactly I don’t know how anyone would think this a good idea. You’re actually psycho if you’ve filled 100% of your farm with crops
@@sawyerseth9832so true lol even 500 crops is the limit for my meadows, there's more space I just can't make myself do more crops, even with sprinklers the harvest days take until 10 or 11 then the whole keg process starts so that's another hour. afterwards I can focus on whatever I want for days while my strawberries, hops or cranberries are just regrowing and kegs are brewing
"20 minute commute." You mean the 20 second teleport, lol. Besides, you only need to check on stuff like wine barrels so rarely that it's fine. Gets even easier if you have stuff like the farm computer or just mods that tell you when stuff gets done.
yea, set your farm at ginger island and use your main plot for pigs and sheds, THATS more efficient
Lewis appearing outside your house at 6 AM: We need to talk about the kegs.
Honestly I would love a cutscene line that. Someone make that a mod!
"Are you trying to industrialize our valley? Are you secretly working for Joja?"
"And I thought Pam had a drinking problem!"

Asthenic?
Also it's too much effort to go to some island to get some wine imo
Yeah, trying to minmax Stardew Vally by making a sea of kegs on the beach kind of misses the point of the game. Like, to each their own and all, but still
@@cking4869 and I read this other comment that if you put it in the beach and there's a beach event it all disappears forever - apparently they had loads of chests and stuff

The main character: Let's see how bad can i possibly be?
*Proceeds to be Joja 2.0*
Suddenly joja don't look like the bad guy anymore
You die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become Joja
Honestly, I recently started Stardew Valley but as soon as I saw what was required for the community center bundles, I instantly decided to go full capitalist with Joja : wasting my time for dozens of hours just to get something free that I could buy by farming just for 1 hour? No thanks. I don't mind taking time to do some things in the game, but that's beyond reasonable in terms of work, especially when you can't grow and catch everything in the same season, having on top of that to search fish in certain places with a low chance to get.
@@rigierish3807 i hope you're joking. Cuz that's the message of the game, it's about not doing things in the most efficient mechanical way and connecting more with people and what you're doing with your life. You literally start the game by quitting working at Joja Co lol
@@kodokunagemu Sure but maybe the message of the game wasn’t done correctly because connecting with people means those people can and will eventually help you. But when you try to do the bundles in the Community Center… no one can help you. That's the problem. You can't buy anything from any shop because they don't sell anything or simply because “it's not the season”. And even if you could say: “It's normal, it's your job to repair the building, so you have to do it alone”, there is no interface to indicate you what to plant or fish or gather during which season, no guide to help you, so you have to search on the internet by your own to find where each item can be found at during what season and what type of weather.
And I consider this type of way should be the easiest but it seems it's the hardest of all.
So no, I won't waste countless hours in real life and years in the game to finish a beginning quest that would finally allow me to access to things that I could have access to if I just would've bought it from Joja for few tens of thousands of coins.
I prefer to make simple quest that I can make in few days in the game.
I still like the game, but I think this quest is probably the worst of all : it doesn't make you connect with anybody (if only it did… the dev could've simply made quests where you could ask different people during any season a certain object to complete the bundle, but you would have to help them first by doing a simple task. That would be connecting), it simply looks like the dumb quest you can find in almost any game to extend its lifetime by asking the player to collect ressources at the other end of the world so the game doesn't look so empty.
@@rigierish3807 oh my god i so agree with you
The real mistake is uglifying your world by placing kegs everywhere
Ikr why would you play a game like that it's a game
Also having the gurgling sound play whenever you go now 🤣
Theres def one dude whos really into kegs that does this
Capitalism
@@redtortoise i dont understand why you wouldnt want to try to find the best way to do things, even in a game. otherwise youre just giving up function for... aesthetic????
Also a good tip for sheds. Always place 1 of the machine theres inside the shed outside and fill it like you would the others. That way you get a nice viaual indicator that the kegs or jars or whatever that are in there are ready for harvest.
You can just craft a computer and it will literally tell you what all is ready
@@goochipoochie came to say this but putting a machine is a good idea for early game and also in the late game if you run different kinds of machines that have different processing time.
Don’t forget to turn that abandoned manor into a warehouse for maximum efficiency too
Ah yes, the "become Joja Corp" playthrough. Become that which you ran from, always a good thing.
It's for those who don't mind being a part of an "evil greedy corporation", but wants to be the boss 😂
Pierre is just like Morris, If not worse :P
@@JazzyFunkaHolic at least Pierre doesn't pollute the rivers. But I can totally see him doing that if he switch places with morris
You have become the very own thing you swore to destroy!
@@apuppetandacookie8200 Joja polluting the rivers is something other characters think, they blame all waste on Joja but we dont know if thats the true, as far as we know Joja in Stardew Valley is a 4-people market, they are as small as Pierres. Considering the trash that appears on the bins one could easily say that EVERYONE at the Valley are at blame for the contamination. Also literally from joining Joja you can fund a lot of projects that help the community a lot, which is way more realistic.
And considering how Pierre acts, I would bet everything that he contaminates just as much as Joja...

My go to is the quarry, use floors to stop all the crap spawning, then fill that bad boy with over 400 kegs! Best part, the minecarts take you straight there, so its insanely convenient to boot!
Considering the only crop you can't grow in the pots are ancient fruit..... with deluxe retaining soil you only have to water regrowable crops once and harvest when they are ready. Have 1 of each on the same cycle in your house so you know when it is ready same as keeping the processing items outside the shed to show when the wine/jelly are done.
That may be true but it’s ugly af
Agreed it looks so bad
😹
It's far from efficient too.....
@@minrathejunglist It too much effort having to travel all across the world and the amount of material it would take just to pull off just isn’t worth it
@@chukola I agree completely.
One small problem: I want aesthetics and immersion, so yea, sheds
The funniest part is that you can actually farm most crops in sheds all year long. Ancient seeds aren't one of them though iirc
@@Kourindouinc yeh I believe the best combo is self watering fertilizer and pineapple, and its way more money/tile than ancient fruit since sheds can hold gazillion pots

A small tip is that you can water a bomb and it waters all the crops around it. Could be useful if you don't have sprinklers to cover all your crops such as in the early game?
Pam casually hulk-smashing her way through your kegs is hilarious. 🤣
She probably chugging the contents of the jugs and smashing them afterwards too
You'd think she'd have more respect for the machine that provides her with the "adult juice".
Shes eating them so she can drink the contents inside
@UnknownEntityExe she knows damn well there's no beer in those kegs (I know she likes other alcohol but like for rp purposes I think beer is her favorite)

I usually just make cabins and upgrade them with a separate controller on coop mode, then remove all the furniture and bed. Then you have 3 empty farmhouses that are by far the most space-efficient way to store your machines.

I love finding the most difficult ways to do things. I am not planning on placing machines on every possible tile around town, afking for a week so all npcs can path their way through naturally and seeing where they don’t typically walk
“Make the entire valley ugly as sin, and ALSO have to walk far as hell to get to it”

There is no way in hell am i going to ruin so much land just to make wine, id rather use the max tier sheds for kegs, furnaces, preservers and so on
For the love of god, why are there kegs surrounding my trailer.
I want to do this because obviously, more efficient, but unfortunately for me it messes me up because it just… looks wrong 💀 plus I’m more of a casual player anyway I don’t try to do perfection or anything to late game usually. but also I’m genuinely attached to the characters and also It makes me feel bad because i’m just filling in their home with machines 😭
Don't worry, you can just take a medium route. :)
There is a lot of space where no NPC even goes to. I personally use the bus tunnel for my crystallariums because it's out of the way and doesn't mess with the landscape.
Many people use the quarry or some regions on ginger island. You don't have to clutter up every available space to be more efficient.
@@tannemin6758 YOO the bus tunnel is actually such a good idea I never thought about that. I know it’s also p common but I use the greenhouse for a bunch of my processing jars usually too since it’s wasted space otherwise.
@@ASillyLittleThing if you've got ancient fruit that's what I filled my greenhouse w cos then I get money in winter (more money anyway
@@johnlennon2333 it’s funny i’ve literally never used ancient fruit since i grew like, one in my first ever play through 😭 I never did because they took so long, but now that i’ve gotten better at being patient i might try again. I’ve been doing star fruit in the greenhouse and using it for wine on me and my gfs farm recently.
@@ASillyLittleThing yeah It does take a while lol 😂 but if you get a lot of kegs and casks you can make ancient fruit wine and put it in the casks - it does take 56 days for iridium wine (2 whole months) but its well worth it - I can get 25000 for 5 iridium wines - I mean starfruit is good too tho cos its quicker and still sells for a lot of money
But I will absolutely forget they exist if they aren’t immediately in my sight every day so… I’ll sacrifice the space 😂
ME TOO!! I have to keep everything up around my house so I don’t forget to check on it! haha
My super big mistake is put watering can on trash💀💀💀💀
Garden pots: I don't exist ?!
Here's how to save space in your game. be an absolute Menace and place things NPCs don't go. If the entire town doesn't look like a hoarders nightmare it's not efficient enough
This is like corporate sin of greed gameplay
I just play the game for fun shit
I have a room in my house for kegs like 19
A room for guests and cloth making
Basement for aged roe and aged cheese and whine
Greenhouse for never ending crops of every kind
I literally just having fun for the tranquil therapy
This is nightmare fuel to me just all of that is just me waking up at 2 am screaming no
Exactly what I was thinking.
Nobody plays Stardew valley wrong, this video is pointless
Totally agree. Each player decides how efficient they want to make their farm, and how much they want to experience the true essence of the game. As long as you're still having fun, you're doing it right.
Exactly what I think, the game was made to be enjoyed and to give a message against capitalism, but all these speed runs are the contrary
This. Though aged roe can't be placed in the cellar iirc.
@@l0remipsum991 preserving bins can, and roe goes into preserving bins to make aged roe...
can you imagine being a local villager and you see the new farmer who has been alive approximately 1002 years, and yet none of you aged even slightly, and he starts placing kegs on the roads, in your house and shi?
Another thing, turn the entire ginger island farm into a greenhouse for ancient fruit. It's way bigger than a greenhouse and you don't have to place scarecrows
I swear for the longest time I’ve been so confused about the Jade for staircases thing because I saw it come up once but I only knew the crafting recipe method so I thought like they had patched Jade out of the recipe to make it easier and not until right now am I realizing it was for the trader lmao
Once you've filled the Ginger Island farm with ancient fruit, you don't really need to plant anything on your main farm to make a ridiculous amount of gold per week. All of that space can be dedicated to sheds of machines if you like.
I mean, since most people use ancient fruit it isnt good, because every spring you would need to replant everything
@@dungoffender There is no seasons on Ginger Island, meaning crops grow all year round. With ancient fruit, you plant it once, any season, and it will grow forever :)

I disagree that it's more efficient just because you still have to travel to get to each and every machine, it looks aesthetically displeasing, and you're not going to be using the entire plot of land in the farm for crops anyway. I do like your content but I have to say this is not a hack.
Sheds with garden pots are also space saving. Plant ancient fruit in your greenhouse and anything else in garden pots inside shelves. I like planting half hops and having half kegs in one shed so I can have a constant flux of pale ale.
Quarry for crystalariums, railroad for trees, ginger island for bees
Leah, abigail, and that one child, all have paths beneath our farm
I wish RT knew this so he could’ve placed Kegs all over Lewis’ and the Blacksmith’s houses
The farm is also the only place that shed’s can be placed, so that should also be kept in mind when talking about using the farm space efficiently. Ginger island is technically your best farm land since you don’t need scarecrows and any crop can be planted there. Sheds can also be a ‘greenhouse’ when using the best water-retaining soil in pots. So, definitely a good reason to have a shed on your farm! If you want to be extra picky about ‘plantable tiles’ place structures on the back wall and eastern wall of your farm. The ‘shadow’ tiles are un-tillable and serve as a great spot for buildings, machines, etc
Maximizes production efficiency, but collection efficiency takes a pretty huge hit.
Okay but who else but DF in the old days would grow corps on the entire farm and place them on kegs separated on the entire map of stardew.
the quarry is the best for machines imo. you can just get the gems it offers in the skull cavern most of the time anyways, and it offers a pretty good amount of space
I just got the furniture catalog, and lost most of a spring decorating!! Im really happy with how it's turning out.
