It Is truly enjoyable to view and listen to a younger person view and perspective of Disneyland. I was in the park on March 18th 1967 when this all opened up. Myself and my family have been dining in this restaurant for decades now. First off, let's clarify to your viewers there are no toxic chemical smells from the water that would impede one's enjoyment of their meal. Like everything with Disney, things were better in the olden days😉 and this is very true. Now, back to the dear Blue Bayou ❤ one very good reason for example is the restaurant, like other dining venues throughout the Disney parks they've become a little cheap ? The cost of food continually goes up and throughout the park at all venues and then to coincide with the increases Disney subtracts from the amenities and accommodations th once would be expected or anticipated with a meal service. Here in particular as a regular dining guest I am saddened and disappointed that they no longer serve bread/butter with the meal. Their breadbasket (delicious) that once was customarily served with dinner is something now to be found within the Disney archives😪 what makes this restaurant such 8:10 special destination for any Disney guest is for the Ambiance and the experience in conjunction with the Beloved Pirates of the Caribbean. I've been to all the international Disney parks and the one and only original true "Magic Kingdom" our regional Disneyland will always take top prize🥇 the food is okay and good and sometimes better than others. My only advice to your viewers would be think twice before ordering the surf and turf ? prior to the park closure and since its reopening I've had a couple bad experiences with this entree 🤢 and in the past it was one of my favorites, not so much now. To be fair things do happen once in a great while but unfortunately I can count it now on all five fingers. I do not believe in coincidence, it's an issue with quality assurance or food preparation with the seafood. No I am not allergic to Seafood either. And yes I have brought this to the attention outside of management above and beyond restaurant level. I felt corporate dealt with this in a very disingenuous manner. And before we all draw a conclusion I was not asking for compensation for meal or medical.
Let Us return to the positive, it is worth the price of admission to dine in this atmosphere. It is definitely an e-ticket experience👍🤗 just be leery of any Seafood😮 the cast members work so very hard in this restaurant to serve their guests and deserve tremendous amount of recognition for their efforts which have been consistently our experience. For the older folks I would recommend bringing a seat cushion or a back cushion those wrought iron chairs are still the same since day one. Now we have become older it's a little more challenging and it can be uncomfortable and painful at times especially for your back. I do wish Disney $$$ would reupholster the poor cushions as well. And do not forget to mention and be aware and wait for the dining packages in conjunctions with some of the shows like Fantasmic when it returns.🤗 even with that they once provided you a cushion with your ticket admission to the show😏 boy, have we all had to Pivot with Disney ?? See you all in the queue at Galaxy's Edge 💌🥂

How do we request certain seats/areas?
Speak the with a cast member checking guests in at the restaurant entrance, and they will let you know if they can accommodate you. For us, it pushed our reservation back about 40 minutes, but it was definitely worth it!

I heard the gumbo was not spicy enough. I'm from Texas so like my food very spicy. I want to dine here but not sure what I can get that isn't too bland.
It's "theme park" spicy for sure, but I thought there was still plenty of flavor. Though if you're used to super spicy, I doubt you'll find anything comparable at Disneyland. Then again, I went solely for the atmosphere, and the food ended up being a good bonus to the experience.
I want to know, how well does joining a walk up list work? I’m trying to get into Lamplight Lounge later this month when I’m going to be there.
It really depends on the restaurant and the demand for the day. I think Lamplight is a bit easier than some others as far as the walk-up list goes, but just make sure you're asking ahead of time because you'll (in many cases) need to wait a while before a spot opens.

Brian, I noticed that you blurred a person behind you. Just wondering if you notify people that you’ll be recording and get their permission to show them?
Just some smaller kids that were too close to the camera. UA-cam wants people to respect the privacy of kids so I'm just making sure that they couldn't be seen.

Disney doesn't actually use chlorine, so you definitely don't have to worry about that! They do, however, use bromine, which has a very unique smell in itself. Most people actually enjoy the smell, though!
