Will it tell you when it needs batteries I saw another video and they took it all apart and you showed us how to do a swap on the inner parts that was fascinating
Just installed Simplisafe system. Outdoor cam batteries seem to drain quickly. I think i need to do some tweaking on them with motion and the spotlight. otherwise I am very pleased with system. Do you pay for monitoring or self monitor?
Yes I pay for the self monitoring. My experience has been very good with the monitoring and customer care. It’s good to note that we did have an issue with a smoke alarm going off in our master bedroom. Come to find out that the sensors for the smoke alarm are able to be set off by steam from the shower. So keep that in mind if you are using the smoke alarms and just choose location arcordingly. You are also correct that adjusting the spotlight and motion settings will help preserve battery life! @@Real_ParkerBrown Update on camera batteries. Did some adjusting on angle and actually turned off the spotlight, and set to "people" only. looks like it is lasting a LOT longer now.
I have the solar panel . It worked even in temps down to - 20 degrees . Keeps my outdoor camera at 100% battery life . This camera faces south . I have a camera mounted on the north side of my house that is plugged into an outlet mounted in my soffit .
cool vid, ive been a user for a year or two and was curious if you have the same issue I do with my indoor cameras. Often the indoor cameras have a super washed out look to them where the video almost looks like a faded out polaroid photo. Makes me crazy and cant figure out how to stop it....Have you had this at all? Even happens on the doorbell cam from time to time but far more on the indoor cams.....ugh
That’s very interesting. I have not come across this issue. However I would see if customer care knows anything, my experience with them has been great.
@@Real_ParkerBrown oh, I agree the customer service there is fantastic that said I did call them a few months ago about it and they suggested turning down the resolution on the cameras to trial lower resolution which I did and it’s still the same outcome so I may need to just call them and see if they can swap the cameras out and try that
Not sure if it’s exactly the same issue but my camera was too close to the wall(meaning most of the picture is white wall so the camera freaked out and showed all faded images). And after I tilted the angle a bit, the image comes back so much better.
Your video was very useful, specially the solution you found for outside camera. I definitely prefer not damaging walls and other stuff to install such system.
Thanks for the comment! Appreciate the engagement. You’re right the panic buttons would be better than the keypad. We actually pull the keypad off of the wall and leave on the coffee table in the living room occasionally for easier access throughout the day so it can work but this is getting into personal preference. Have a good one!
I think it's a great system honestly. I did get quite a bit of stuff. I got the one indoor camera. But I got 5 outdoor cameras and smoke detectors. And every window and door it has a sensor on it. I did get 60% of 4 Black Friday sale. I saved quite a bit of money. I do like how I can do basically. Anything with the cameras I did not like the magnetic mounts. I got the permanent amounts for them. Little extra money. But for me it was worth it. You do have to turn the sensitivity down and do the grid and block out certain areas. Otherwise the batteries will die within 3 weeks. You'll be replacing them but I would tell you to buy a couple of extra batteries. That way, you have them ready to go or buy the power cords and plug them in. My first base station was D.O.A. They did of course replace it. I also got panic buttons so far. I'm quite happy with the system and if you sign up for the monthly monitoring which is not expensive. You have a free lifetime warranty on all of your parts. I had xfinity water rip-off. Always issues with cameras always issues with something and 1 year warranty. And you want to talk about things being expensive, oh my God. So far I'm quite happy. I don't see any reason for me to change anything extremely easy to install. I have to say. I love the system and and we've already done things such as my wife. Not realizing the alarm was set and triggering it. I got a text message. I got a phone call before the cops ever came. I will say to people if you don't have the money to get a big package like I did right off the bat. Then definitely add-on to your system. Please get the smoke detectors. They're so worth saving your home from a fire or saving your pets when you happen to be at work and something God forbid happens.
Great video, we just got 2 outdoor cameras a couple days ago. I have outlets installed to run my wyze cameras that we installed a few years ago, they are great cameras
Lol! I do the same thing when I go out the garage door in the AM to get my black rifle coffee and trip the door sensor. Puts my pregnant wife on edge. 😳
Simply Safe NO THANKS - This company has the lowest level of customer service. A security company that provides frustration and poor service at the onset is NOT a company I can trust with my security. Plus UA-cam videos show how easy this system is to defeat. Let me say it again NO THANKS
Understand up front that SimpliSafe isn't a company in the traditional sense. It is a "virtual company" with a small network of subcontractors and suppliers that handle multiple business entities. The CS is located in the Philippines, and supports a wide variety of customers from a wide variety of business ventures. Their "warehouse" forwards products from China to the end user, which could be a toaster, or a security system. The monitoring follows the same business model. That's what you're getting with SimpliSafe. Major disappointment.
@@aprildryden7964 Not from what a manager and staff told me. It is correct and I don't work for SimpliSafe. It is a "virtual" company that subs everything.

I use 720 p, not 1080 p and saves battery life and I have night vision turned off . This also saves battery life plus keeps the cameras quieter
Our SimpliSafe App always opens quickly.
I watched another video reviewing SS and he showed a key fob with a panic button that came with his system.
The outdoor camera you should try out the solar panel

Thanks for the additional info! Ill have to upgrade to the solar panels so I don't have to rotate batteries so often.

i've never had any issues with the app. It's gotta be something with your device.
My batteries are with another company. 2 years on the battery life. And then the simplisafe alarm only😊
The motion sensors works really great, I for got to turn the system off and I walked by one and it trip the system

Did you also know that the Wi-Fi jammer can also jam your phone
What kind of flammable house do you live in that needs 6 smoke detectors?
Lol thanks for making me laugh. The house had 6 wired when we bought it, so I just replaced the originals since they went bad.
Great info!
Glad it was helpful!
You're awesome haha
You spent that much money and your system can be jammed and breached what
