www.newere4x4.com I drove up to Pismo Beach to pull stuck people out for the fun of it. It was a slow weekend but as usual a lot of people were getting stuck.
Don't know what the sand is made of in America but every beach I've been to in Australia you see 4:17 as the result of flooring it with no slack on the rope (car is trying to pull the load off the bat without gaining momentum first.) Also what's up with all the people bringing huge ass caravans onto the beach?
Yoshi Yes for sure eeds to use a snatch strap and momentum I found the sand in the states is quite coarse and some places you can just drive a domestic car on the beach. Yea large caravans to the beach how funny. I tow a camper van and tow with a Jeep JK Fraser Island again next week
I tried several straps and tow ropes over the years. Now I use the Smittybilt CC120 Snatch Strap - 17,000 lb cost around $50 bucks and works for most the vehicles in your video. It really works great in Pismo/Oceano dunes, because it acts like a huge rubber band. Less wear and tear on your vehicle. You really don't need to spin your wheels when pulling someone out if you let the strap do the work. Go for show, but not go...as you found out!
Tip: When using a snatch strap, use a bit of momentum to your advantage. Pulling the strap taut then gassing it is a sure-fire way to dig yourself four holes. It looks impressive, but it often results in two stuck trucks. Pull the slack out, back up a foot or two, then goose it going forward again. Let the strap stretch and the momentum of your truck pull the stuck vehicle out. I'm not talking a hard yank, just a bit of a bump to get it moving. It's what those straps were designed to do.
35" Mud grapplers look beastly on your rig. They honestly look about as big as most 37s. They seem to do very well in the sand considering they were designed with mud in mind. After seeing the video I am seriously considering running them now on my 2013 2 door JKR (4.25" suspension lift, flat flares and no more pinch welds, 2" body lift). I plan on running 37-40" tires on it.
You're probably done answering questions on this thread but I live near Pismo and there with my Jeep at least three times a year. Are these people that get stuck using 2 wheel drive vehicles? Why are so many of these trucks stuck? I just think they need to air down and have a four-wheel drive vehicle.
Not to criticize but putting the gas down to the floor made you get stuck. LOL. I am from South Africa and I have a 2.8 Diesel JK and in 4 Low I towed guys out without giving it that much juice. Low and Slow is the best way to get any stuck truck out. But still enjoyed your Vid buddy. Love the fact that you displayed the awesomeness that is JEEP. The best ride in the world. Keep it real
I am also in California. I live in the valley so I am only three hours away from the snow, pismo dunes, and the desert. I love it but I dont have a Jeep yet to go play in. I mostly plan on going to the dunes. Do you think Ill be able to pull people out with the stock motor in the rubicon? I know you have a supercharge but I cant afford a supercharge.. haha
You need a better tow rope. I got mine from a retired Edison lineman. It's awesome. It's 40' long and you can back up to the other guys bumper and floor it. No jerking. It stretches like a rubber band and pops the guy right out. Especially when they're stuck in the mud. And besides, my Rubi doesn't have a turbo, so I need a little more leverage. My F350 4x4 couldn't break this rope, so I'm sure my Jeep wont.
did you see a massive power difference with the RIPPS charger and have you come across any problems? I'm from Australia and looking at buying a jeep sometime next year and kind of just looking at all the goodies out there on the market
Cool vid, awesome Jeep. Stupid question, but if you are driving in sand like that do you have to worry much about sucking in any sand into the engine? I suppose if you're aircleaner is good, you should be fine right?
I know the sand in NJ is like gravel compared to the powdery sand in Pismo. Long Island must have some crazy sand if its worse than Pismo. I hope to see it some day.
Nice setup, getting my rig supercharged soon but running 37s with 5:13s what are you running for gears and size tires? Can you shoot me link for ripp sc install?
When going up the sand dune hills, should i put the 4x4 on 4lo or 4h? What’s the speed limit i should do when aiming for the hills? Should it be about 20 mph on 2nd gear? Should i disable traction control when on 4h?
In this video demo we were lo most of the time. As far as getting up a sand hill momentum is key. It may take 4hi to have good speed just don't fly over the top. I'd manually shift and keep the traction control off. For the most part without lots of horsepower the hill will let you know if you'll make it up in sand or not.
what size tires do you have on that jeep.. i just got the new jeep rubicon 2013 and i want to add some tires similar to those just not sure what i can fit on a stock jeep i dont really want to lift it.. this is my first jeep ever and figured i go brand new but i have the hard top one
holy crap man nice jeep! is that a ripp? and what sise tires and lift?, what kind of back bummper is it! i have a black 08 with an 6'' ans 35 nittos like yours...
Sorry I'm a noob but what did you or they do wrong at 4:10 mark? I can't wait to get my jeep up to the level of yours(at least the lift and tires, probably can't afford a turbo lol) and I'll be dying to help people out like you did.
Nice video man! Like the way you have your jeep set up. Always wanted a jeep, but I'll wait till They put in a factory V-8!! :O Those people hook you up with some cash? I love driving my truck on the beaches of the Outer Banks NC.
They should have a sign at the beginning of the beach approach warning people to let some air out of your tires before entering the beach to prevent getting stuck. And holding her wild open to pull people out ain't really the way to do it. Although it worked for him most of the time I'm surprised he didn't get stuck more often than that one time. Looks like he was having fun tho.
+Hank Hill his light weight and fat tires helped keep him from burying himself too fast. A steady pull without spinning the tires would have worked better.
endocry Just an FYI. The ideal tire pressure is going to be dependant on your vehicle weight AND the size of tire you have. Rule of thumb is 20% squish. In other words the rim of the wheel will be 20% closer to the ground when you deflate. Do this before hand. Do your measuring and then check your pressures when you are done. Then you will know what your ideal pressure is.
Like he says, most times vehicles will pop out fairly easily. Your biggest concern is traction and a suitable snatch strap. A lot of people think bigger is better but it want 'snatch' if the vehicles aren't heavy enough.
That the most badass fucking Jeep I've ever seen. I lived on Hatteras island (N.C.) for a few months and I can't remember how many people I had to tow out with my Tundra Iforce 5.7. Of course, my tires stayed aired down to 25 on back and 27-30 up front.
In the dunes I do believe it is required but I have not seen it enforced as often on the cars/trucks. Flags are cheep at Wal-mart so just buy one and zip-tie a 4 foot section of it to your radio antenna. Also air down to 10-12 psi and you'll be set.
My problem with jeeps is that everything for them is so much more expensive. It's stupid. I was going to get an 80's CJ Jeep until I started looking for parts and upgrades for it. Wow... I went with a K5 Blazer instead =(
Hey buddy, that is sick... do u drive a manual gear or an automatic? I am considering getting the Rubicon X, wanted the X unlimited but it isnt in stock.
Thats bad ass man. Great job for helping people out like that. I have a question, how did you get out from being stuck? Did you video that? The reason im asking because on 4th of July i went to the dunes (by the way that same beach :D) and i got stuck. to make it short it was a nightmare to get out. I was wondering if you can give me some tips on getting out from the sand other than being towed. I got stuck the same way you did but i was not towing anything :/ yes i know ima rookie. Thanks....
bring some 2x4's, and use a jack to put the boards under your tires to give you traction (your floormats will also work in a pinch). And always have a shovel with you, when your tires dig in like that you can use the shovel to dig down the mounds you made around the tires. Also, use 4 low and lock it it 1st gear
do u know what a winch is used for? it is not for pulling vehicles out with it is for pulling the vehicle out that is is installed on. any other use is a good way to mess up the winch or the vehicle it is on. GEEZ people....
Yes you can turn them on and off. they lock your left and right wheels to rotate as one giving you driving power even when one tire is in the air. Jeep Wrangler rubicons have them. Your liberty likely does not.
very good why you know what you have to lower the air to the tires, but you do not know, that the more your tires turn the more you sink and get stuck. the wheels do not have to turn a lot, it does not help that they turn too much, you just sink more.
@JustForEmpire many people just refuse to air down. I can say that east coast sand is not the "baby soft" stuff we have out here. But that is based on my limited time on the east coast. I will be out there again in november.
that thing almost sounds like a V8.... i know some people have the money to modify it like that but... nice jeep man! sounds like it has a turbo in there somewhere
@hyper0mega Wow, someone had there Haterade today. Yes, a lot of the pulls are on or near the beach. Most people get stuck in that area so it tends to be where I find people I can help out. When I come across a truck stuck in a bowl I'll try to record pulling them out for you. I hope you enjoy your jeep. See you on the trail.
Beautiful jeep brotha love the sound of that turbo!! Any recommendations on what tires I should buy for my 2001 jeep?? Or lift kit I should add? I would really appreciate the help:)
that dude is strong as fuck. did you see him pull that little john deere out with his arms?
That's cool to see you helping people out, not enough people like you out there.
I could watch this all day! I like the Jeep!!!

Yoshi 😂😂😂 Caravans my people. Sometimez. You just have to wonder!!
Yoshi here in america its called camping🤣
On a holiday weekend Pismo beach is full edge to edge with RVs, tents, 4x4s and dirt bikes.

I have a Jeep wrangler 4 door and I love it!!... Nice job man!!
Oh man...I just got my jeep and want to try that. Great video..made my day.
Looks fun! We still havnt made any Jeep videos at the beach.. I’ve heard they want to close Pismo to 4x4ing so i guess i better hurry

i like seeing stuck trucks and jeeps good videos boggging down ti you get stuck, we all like that, please do more soon
if you go full throttle in the sand you will only sink. it is to accelerate a little, once you pick up a little speed you can accelerate fully.
Im lovin that Rubicon!! Thinking bout getting one for myself now
Do it!
I am also in California. I live in the valley so I am only three hours away from the snow, pismo dunes, and the desert. I love it but I dont have a Jeep yet to go play in. Yeah, that was a cheap strap i grabbed on my way to the beach. I had limited options at the time.
did you see a massive power difference with the RIPPS charger and have you come across any problems? I'm from Australia and looking at buying a jeep sometime next year and kind of just looking at all the goodies out there on the market

That jeep has to be super charged all motor does not make that noise
noobtoob nooby Yes, RIPP Super charger.
NEWEREJK sounds great
NEWEREJK to o
its a ripp turbo charge
+noobtoob nooby i just saw the extra cooler in front of the radiator.
Fun Video. But that is the problem. If the city guys come with there street tires instead of MT´s.....
What size are you havin under that Jeep ?
Nice setup, getting my rig supercharged soon but running 37s with 5:13s what are you running for gears and size tires? Can you shoot me link for ripp sc install?
Are you in 4 High when you're pulling them out? Also, are your diffs locked? Thanks!
Can you share what has been done to this jeep, suspension/ wheels, and info on the supercharger. Thanks
Do you cut your pipes or use flow masters? Or does it even sound good with those on it?
When you're pulling did you change to 4lo? and are you have front and rear lockers right, just saw your Rubicon logo
Sorry, I'm sure if you scroll down the answer is there but here ya go… The lift is 2.5", Tires 35'x17. The fenders really help it have a taller look.
When going up the sand dune hills, should i put the 4x4 on 4lo or 4h? What’s the speed limit i should do when aiming for the hills? Should it be about 20 mph on 2nd gear? Should i disable traction control when on 4h?

what kind and size of tires ya got on that? They kinda look like Tera Grapplers, but unsure if they are MT or AT.
is the sand super soft there? i go to the oregon dunes in my jeep an never seen that many people get stuck b4 lol
what kinda engine and turbo you running? that sounds awesome
holy crap man nice jeep! is that a ripp? and what sise tires and lift?, what kind of back bummper is it! i have a black 08 with an 6'' ans 35 nittos like yours...

how does the sand do when it gets in the engine bay? does it make any damage to pulleys or fan belt clutch or anything?
That jeep is awesome! If I didn't need a truck, I'd want something like that.
Nice video man! Like the way you have your jeep set up. Always wanted a jeep, but I'll wait till They put in a factory V-8!! :O Those people hook you up with some cash? I love driving my truck on the beaches of the Outer Banks NC.

It went up by 2 mpg compared to not super charged. 12 maybe? It was a little over geared.
So did you get to do anything fun or did you just spend all day pulling stuck people out?
have to ask what performance mods you running as my JK Rubicon does not sound or pull like that!! share the love brother :-)
That the most badass fucking Jeep I've ever seen. I lived on Hatteras island (N.C.) for a few months and I can't remember how many people I had to tow out with my Tundra Iforce 5.7. Of course, my tires stayed aired down to 25 on back and 27-30 up front.

Do you use your lockers when pulling someone out? Also do you use 4low or high pulling when pulling someone out?
thats nice of you! That jeep sounds customized.
That looks like a lot of fun.
I do that with my cherokee when it snows. drive around and pull people out. Its good times.
nice jeep too!
I was wondering how big your lift is on that jeep? 3in or 4in? Can never tell the difference & those are 35s rights
do you still have this jeep or did you end up selling it?
allright thanks how you liking it so far ? quick responce ? and sure will check it out
What shocks? And how do you like the lift. How did it change the ride?
hey.. is pismo crowded and is it high tide at that time of year?
im planing on taking my pop up for the family? thanks
What kind of rim and tire do you have on your jeep? do you need a lift for this?
How much did they cost ?
My problem with jeeps is that everything for them is so much more expensive. It's stupid. I was going to get an 80's CJ Jeep until I started looking for parts and upgrades for it. Wow... I went with a K5 Blazer instead =(
Hey buddy, that is sick... do u drive a manual gear or an automatic? I am considering getting the Rubicon X, wanted the X unlimited but it isnt in stock.
+rarehuman Automatic transmission, many of the major manufacturers make the same choice.
+NEWEREJK hey I noticed your boosted I'd love to hear your pros and cons about this I'm considering it on my rubicon
5:28 lightning bolt
how did the RIPP kit work out? I'm looking at adding some power to my 2011 JKU
Thats bad ass man. Great job for helping people out like that. I have a question, how did you get out from being stuck? Did you video that? NEWEREJK What is you set up? I see the bushwacker fenders, I'm guessin a supercharger on the 3.6, and 35's but I cant make out your bumper
such a bad ass jeep. what size lift and tires? looks so good
Does your winch work?
lol, yeah.
do u know what a winch is used for? it is not for pulling vehicles out with it is for pulling the vehicle out that is is installed on. any other use is a good way to mess up the winch or the vehicle it is on. GEEZ people....
Is the rev limiter engaging? Sounds like your flooring it? You have 4:10's?
Lol when he pulled out the john deer with his hands on the rope that was funny as shit
L.o.D. Off Road signature series.
Yes you can turn them on and off. they lock your left and right wheels to rotate as one giving you driving power even when one tire is in the air. Jeep Wrangler rubicons have them. Your liberty likely does not.
how are xterras in that sand? didnt see you pulling any of them
I was at a beach and my lifted Silverado with big nitto grapplers was flying through no problems
very good why you know what you have to lower the air to the tires, but you do not know, that the more your tires turn the more you sink and get stuck. the wheels do not have to turn a lot, it does not help that they turn too much, you just sink more.
Letitride555, I didn't see any lowered trucks. What are you talking about?
Yeah a Hemi would be nice. Your right there is a RIPP Mods Supercharger kit on it.
@Tmstar5 Often a quick tug gets the job done faster but you are right... a winch is a lot cheeper than a transmission.
heey in which gear you pulled them out 1st or 2nd ?
and did you use 4H or 4L?
@NEWEREJK How much was the super charge?
Do you think the 3.6 Pentastar would've needed or benefited from a supercharger in this scenario?
+avand18 The 3.6 used since 2012 really cuts away much of the need for the supercharger. It alone makes 73 more HP than the 3.8.
I had an 01 TRD 4wd Tacoma. That was a great truck.
@pime760 Yes, The jeep has a RIPP MODs Gen 2 Supercharger kit on it. The power gains are very noticeable.
The engine dosent sound like a 3.8... What do you have dont the the engine??
@JustForEmpire many people just refuse to air down. I can say that east coast sand is not the "baby soft" stuff we have out here. But that is based on my limited time on the east coast. I will be out there again in november.
So the vehicel stuck needs to be on DRIVE or neutral ? And does this also applies when u pulling them from the back (f150)
yes!
but not neutral
I think the flat fenders make it look higher but it still looks badass!
I had the grey 2wd f150. Thanks for the tug since airing down 40 series tires still doesn't make 4wd. I told them to camp closer to the beach!!
Any work besides lift and tires?
who is the best ford raptor or jeep wrangler ???
Nice jeep. What tires you running?
Thank you. that's a beautiful jeep.
that thing almost sounds like a V8.... i know some people have the money to modify it like that but... nice jeep man! sounds like it has a turbo in there somewhere
what's your set up on the jeep, i'm planning to get one in the near future.
He added cup holders and gas tank holder, cant get more hardcore than that
Newerejk, what kind of rear bumper you have on the jk
@hyper0mega Wow, someone had there Haterade today. Yes, a lot of the pulls are on or near the beach. Most people get stuck in that area so it tends to be where I find people I can help out. When I come across a truck stuck in a bowl I'll try to record pulling them out for you. I hope you enjoy your jeep. See you on the trail.
im assuming that spool sound was a turbo?
what kind of rear bumper do you have on that?
how much money did you make pulling all these people out
what rims and tires do you have on your jeep??
Beautiful jeep brotha love the sound of that turbo!! Any recommendations on what tires I should buy for my 2001 jeep?? Or lift kit I should add? I would really appreciate the help:)
And with your lift, did u have to fix the geometry?
What kind of wheels do you have on that jeep?
Nice, I do the same with my J-20. You meet nice people, and it's a great way to make friends. ;)
