Thanks. I noticed in my little test and yours that it seems to enhance the stereo image significantly. Best review so far of the several I watched. Subscribed!
Do you know what to do with traction waveform keeps quitting when you down load certain plugins? For example I down loaded hertz drums and when you go to play it it and waveform quits any help would be awesome!
There are some plugins that just don’t get along with Waveform. I ran into one recently and tried a few things but it just wouldn’t work so I can’t use that plugin. It’s usually indie developer plugins so there could be something in the plugins code that is causing the issue. If there’s a vst2 and vst3 version of the plugin you can try each version to see if one works better. Sometimes that works.
@ bought another iMac today and I got it working only problem I have now is, can I get all my songs from one iMac to another ? In the same waveform daw so far I can’t it’s like I have to download every plugin again on the newer computer! Love your channel bro n still waiting for you to make a song start to finish found a couple things but want to see everything you use your a wizard cheers zane
where in the chain this should be typically placed? at the beginning to balance my unprocessed vocal or at the ending of my vocal chain to finish the already processed vocal? or do i put this on the mix bus / master bus?
Put it where ever you want. Its a plugin. You can put it first in the chain and at the end if you need. Try and see whats working for you. There are no rules....

They recommend to put it at the beginning of the chain but you could also put it after all your plugins. It’s up to you and what the track needs. Try it both ways if you like. For the most part this plugin is intended for individual tracks but you can also use it on busses and your mixbus. If you think a bus or your whole mix has a little too much energy in certain frequencies then throw this on there and give it a try. Even if you use it very lightly it can make a difference.
Sorry for my questions, i'm a beginner regarding to music production. This could be used for almost any type of song and instrument (of course depending on the genre, what we are trying to achieve). From your experience and perspective, when you would recommend to use this plugin. I think it would be when you want to give clarity to an instrument or FX, right? This could also be used in the mastering phase? EDIT: I just realized the last part of the video you answered 1 of my questions, hehehe.
I don’t have much experience with this specific plugin as it just came out but yeah it can be used on pretty much any song, any genre, any instrument. You may not need it in all situations but it can be used. Personally I use eq and compression on pretty much every track. This plugin combines eq and compression so i could use it everywhere if i want. It all depends on what the track needs. It could be used in mastering. I wouldn’t go crazy with it during mastering but it can be used in that situation. If you use it on your mixbus before mastering, you may not need it during mastering. Clarity comes from reducing conflicting energy/frequencies and that’s what this plugin does so it’s the whole purpose of the plugin really.
To use just this to get punchy drums would depend on the drums but if you used a combination of this and a compressor you could get some lively punchy drums. This is more of a dynamic eq so the compression that it does is more focused on frequencies and not so much on transients although it can affect the transients if it’s pushed hard.
Thank you for the snarky, too cool for school audio engineer comment. I don’t get enough of those around here. Thank you for wanting to contribute and for watching the video. Keep creating! 👊👍
It definitely feels like a simplified Equator. I wouldn’t say for lazy people because lazy people usually give up before even getting to a point where they can mix a song. Lol. But it’s great for beginners or for a track that just needs a quick adjustment.
Not everyone wants to get into the scientific depths of mixing a track. I’m a composer/songwriter and these kind of plugins help me to quickly get a pretty balanced monitor mix of my arrangements. I can show that as a ballpark mix/arrangement to someone who knows how to mix properly. I leave mixing and mastering to the experts.
Grab Waves IDX for free over this weekend only!! Here's the link waves.alzt.net/Free_IDX

✨✨🙏✨✨
Just downloaded this plugin. Excited to try it
Best explanation so far. Thanks
Thanks, it was easy to follow and understand.
Thanks for the clarity.
The beginning of the musical passage made me think you were recreating 'Eyes of the World' from Fleetwood Mac's album, Mirage!
It's some form of Spectral Compressor basically

@@AudioTechTV thank you so much i'll try that for shure
Should I place this plugin at the end of my FX chain or right at the beginning ?
They recommend at the beginning of the chain but you can try it out where ever you want.

Soo, it's more a clipper?
whats the difference between this and curves?
Curves has more advanced settings that you can adjust. This one is like a more simplified Curves.
So its like an compressor? It can be used to get punchy drums too? 😮

It killed the low end of the kick drum, bizarre.
I went a little extreme with it.
anyone had problems opening IDX app , I did have something open but it was just a list of parameters to adjust
That is weird. I’ve never had that happen with any plugin. Make sure your DAW is up to date. Maybe it’s an issue with the DAWs plugin wrapper.
Dont you agree that its a simpler Equator for beginners or lazy people?

another limiter
Spectral Compressor
Definitely not a limiter, more like a multiband compressor.
