Wait, didn't you have auto gain match engaged the whole time? At the end, when you said "it's not fair because there was some volume increase", wouldn't that not be the case with auto gain match on? It's funny the whole time I was like wow it sounds so good and that's WITH auto gain match. At first I was thinking I was getting fooled by the volume increase. Either way, this plugin is awesome!! Thanks for the review.
Marcus, what computer and specs are you using? I see the performance meter is low, and I think it's using like 5% on each track on my Mac Mini. Can you let us know what you see per track on yours?
very nice video and song ! the only thing is that when plugin is engaged , mix is louder. So it is natural to hear it better. is the mix really better when you compensate for the higher gain ?
Thanks a lot for this walk-through Marcus, I just picked up this plug-in for myself. Looking forward to working with it. Also, I really like the string production on this track, did you produce this part and if so, how did you achieve this stylistically? I really like it. Thanks!
This was actually a colleague of mine that did the full production - I just tackled all the vocals (tracking, tuning, time alignment, and vocal production) and the ATMOS mix and the stereo mix. I’ll ask him to comment here. But from the perspective of the mix. It was tons of automation, levels, panning, send levels, etc) And also worth mentioning that on this mix - the stereo mix (and the master) came from my 7.1.4 ATMOS mix fold-down! Cheers, M
Thank you very much for the kind words! I’m really glad the string production resonated with you. That arrangement was done entirely using Modern Scoring Strings by AudioBro. It’s a fantastic library with some incredibly realistic articulations. I programmed everything myself, including the portamentos, which really help bring it to life with a certain slitheriness that evokes some haunting emotions. Finding a strings library with such quality and realism can be challenging, so I’m thrilled you noticed and appreciated it.
Wavesfactory Equalizer? The amazing and free Robbert van der Helm Spectral Compressor? How is that different .... from any gullfoss reincarnations that all now have adjustible time constants and just a slightly different workflow? Cant wait for Paul Third's response to this. Many greetings everyone!
I don't like Waves past decisions too BUT here's an exercise. Let's cover the logo for a moment and let's just appraise the plugin for what it does (heck let's include Curves Equator too) After putting it through the paces, these are 2 damn great performing powerful plugins.
Love the new background lighting! The plugin is bomb! And I LOVE THE SONG! Hehehehehe 🤭
Great vid Marcus - love your work!
amazing plugin, tracks popped out in the speakers, good for polishing all individual tracks.
Excellent song and mixing of it !!!!
thanks for the walk through
Great video!
Great presentation as always.....
I too grabbed this as part of the Black Friday freebie offering. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm very much looking forward to experimenting with it.
Really nice, Waves is on a roll lately with this and Curves Equator. Super useful tools!

Hey Marcus. Can you please do a Shaperbox video which shows how to implement their complicated tricks like envelope follower and audio sidechain.

"it just sounds better" is not really the whole story when it comes to mixing. what is "better" for one track may be different for another.
Waves = unsubscribe
Sure most people don't care, but agreed.
What a stupid comment it’s just a plug-in
