Love the League and this is one of my favs . 25 years since the HL were topping the charts, time for some re releases and more recognition for this great 'electronic' music. Tall tall tall tall.
I also used this film for a video of my own to a piece called "Talk to me". The original film is called Third Ave El by Carson Davidson made in the 1950's. I came across this video to Empire State Human by chance and i think its brilliantly put to Human Leagues excellent song.
Yeah. I recall "Dont You Want Me" being the first and long HL song I heard for the longest time, then I heard "Being Boiled" and was blown away. I just didn't want to believe it was Human League!!
Thanks for the Vid. Only heard this tune after listening to 6music and it prompted me to buy the album, hopefully giving the mighty Phil and the gorgeous girls some royalty payments. Love 'em or love 'em..(no-one is allowed to hate The League ) Thanks again Andy West Yorkshire
For some reason this song makes me want to rida a gondola up some random skyscraper, while desperately trying to avoid all the stuff the zombies are throwing at me, including bombs and cars.
Seen them in the Edinburgh Playhouse many moons ago! Had to wait for an age for them to come on!!! This is my fav track and they didn't play it at all : ( # chronic
I just got this album on vinyl.. and my God! The remastered versions on CD and online are like the Star Wars "Special Editions." Vinyl is so much better!

So hard to believe this is 30 years later, still sounds great and hasn't dated at all. They really were years ahead of their time in this short line up. Great track, thanks for putting it on, I was 13 again for a moment :-)
I am working on a documentary film on Ireland's Tallest Man Shaun Aisbitt at 7'4 and he recommended this song for the film. He is bed ridden for two years due to health problems for being so tall. But this is a great song, not only great for the film (and yes! I will be seeking copyright use) but its also one I like personally.
God i remember this sooooo well. I bought a 2-single pack but cant remember what the other one waws... being boiled maybe? I just loved this track and having listened to it for the first time in years , I still do!!!!!

Excellent Video for one of my favorite songs ever. Where did you get the footage of the old 2nd Ave Elevated subway? Even have a guy who looks like Phil Oakey did back in the day. Weird but cool! Brilliant job!
Takes me back to 1981 when all us schoolkids were madly into the Human League. Wish I was back there again!
Wish I was back there again.
The line from:: Ticket to the moon by ELO. TIME Album 1981.
A whole album for us now who miss the 80s
Me too
Nearly every ride played this at Hull fair in the early 80's, happy days indeed.
I bought this as a heavy single, watched it on Top of the Pops, danced to it at a school disco. Still a cracking tune!!

Try Elegant Machinery, they sometimes have similar sound. Start with earphones and video Move))
The League have a massive back log that 90% of the League followers don’t know about.

Brilliant work by The Human League to send Phil Oakey 30 years back in time to star in the video.
Human League, Gary Numan/Tubeway Army, Kraftwerk... all great
Top Man Steve totally agree old chap
And John FOXX/Ultravox !
Yes definitely the pioneers
Finally died in 84 with Howard Jones and The Thompson Twins. Jesus they were awful
Also Cabaret Voltaire
This band provided the soundtrack for my youth.
Awesome. The League FTW!!!!

One of my favourite HL tracks. Fantastic. Makes you want to walk like a soldier on speed! 😁🤩🤟🏽

Thank you Glynn! I had no idea this had so many hits!
