How lovely to hear you talk about Andrew. I do remember the pennies well! I remember laughing a lot at that and thinking that is so Andrew to devise a system. I miss Andrew on the Fruity Knitting Couch. I think it's a nice way to keep him alive by sharing memories - although I see so much of him in Madeline it is like he is there with us anyway.
So proud to be a Fruity Knitting patreon. The quality of your channel is superb. Enjoy your one week holiday - you both thoroughly deserve it (and more). Take some time out to reflect on how much you have achieved and how much you inspire so many people in our wonderful craft. Looking forward to your next episode when you are hopefully ready and relaxed. 💕 🧶
Guess what my husband is getting me for Christmas! Charming Colourwork Socks! I ordered it after watching your interview. My kids love the socks and I can't wait to pick some designs out!
Blown away by the incredibly beautiful designs by Ksenia! Also how lovely to see some of Andrew's knitting and to hear your memories of his knitting adventures. Thank you.
Thank you for another lovely episode. ❤ I really enjoyed the video clips in the yarn shops and the warm welcomes of the owners. It’s always nice to see the joy and laughter of the guests while filming.
I love Andrew's Celestial by Martin Storey, what a blessing and I hope you wear it with a heart filled with joy. Andrew is always here, I feel him in every episode and his stamp is everywhere. ❤
Always love your podcasts. This one in particular. I love knitting socks and have Charlotte’s book but have been worried about fit with colored socks. You’ve inspired me. Every time I see your podcast, I’m so glad to be a patron! Best to you both!
I'm a relatively new viewer and have been watching back episodes, starting at the very beginning, in between your regular new episodes. Just now I'm going through the episodes where Andrew was knitting his first garment, a hiking sweater, and now it's wonderful to see these samples of his later knitting, such intricate lace! I'm so impressed at his progress! I love your podcast, it's the perfect mix of knitting and other chat to keep it interesting too 😄 Thank you for all you do!
A really lovely, engaging and enjoyable episode. The content and interviews were fabulous and inspiring! I now have a cardigan and new socks to knit. … I really love being a Patron and a small contributor to this amazing vlog!!! Thank you Andrea and Madeline.
I didn't think I needed or wanted yet another sock book but it turns out that I do! (btw, those of us with high insteps, the widest part for us is the ellipse from the 'point' of the heel to where the top of the foot meets the leg. That's the size that the sock leg has to stretch to to get them on). Lovely episode, your summer tops are fabulous.
Oh, thank you for the high instep comment. Took me forever to just go all out to add those stitches. Love Andrea and Madeline, miss Andrew, so glad to be a patron!
@@alexandra3804 In my case because socks and shoes tend to be too tight across the top of my feet with the distance from floor to foot top not being deep enough to fit.
Hi, Andrea and Madeleine. I love both of your sweaters. I can’t manage knitting a garment sideways so good on you both. Lace knitting is one of my favourites… thank you for sharing Andrew’s lace work❤ Madeleine modelled both sweaters beautifully. Ksenia Naidyon is a lovely designer. I enjoyed her interview. Andrea the wedding shawl is exquisite. Knitting socks is another one of my favourite things to knit. Charlotte’s colour work socks are gorgeous. Eye of partridge heel is my favourite to knit on my socks. I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. Enjoy your vacation❤️❤️
Love how attention to detail , and your understanding of colour ❤. Shawl is stunning 🤩 I would be terrified of wet blocking as yarn is at its weakest when wet .
So much fun and inspiration in this episode. Ksensia’s designs are so beautiful and the details she described about the meaning behind the patterns was lovely. I almost jumped out off my couch when I saw her walking into The Royal Bee Knitting Shop in Pacifica, CA. I live about 45 minutes away from there and visit the shop a few times a year. Kelly, the owner, is so warm and has created the most unique collection of yarn and accessories. The wedding shawl for Sofia is a work of love and art! It will be such a treat to see her wearing it. Have a wonderful time celebrating with her. Andrea, your comparison of sustaining a loving marriage/relationship is like tending a garden was really beautiful. It was very touching for you to mention this in terms of the precious time that you and Andrew had together. I still feel his presence strongly through you and Madeleine. This episode is one of many examples of why I’m so happy and willing to be a patron for many years now. The quality of your work is unparalleled and I truly appreciate every minute. Have a great time traveling and see you when you get back.
Ladies, you gave us yet another fabulous episode. I love how you make me discover new quality designers. It was nice to hear you talk about Andrew and the shawl is absolutely divine. Enjoy your travels.
So much fun seeing C Stone. After a prior disaster trying colorwork socks, I made the coffee socks with great success! The barista at our coffee shop gets the next pair.
Such fun! Your newly knitted tops were both beautiful and looked so comfortable for summer. I loved seeing the special lace garments that Andrew so lovingly made. Enjoy your August and travels!
First two times watching you in the evening i felt so relaxed i fell asleep. Yesterday i finished a project at work that lasted for month's and had a lot if deadlines. So today is my day off of adulting. The sun is shining, 3 wips and you for company. Finally not falling asleep anymore🎉 What a good idea to craft together 💕
I remember the green sweater! I actually use his penny technique to keep track of my rows. What a wonderful memory to share. Love your show and so grateful to be a Patron.
These socks are so completely charming and will make fabulous gifts! I'm so glad to be a patron and to be able to use the discount for some patterns. Thanks for another fabulous episode!
I'm watching all episodes from the start and am now at episode 103. Sometimes I do a sneak view of new episodes and it was so special to hear you talk about Andrew's love for lace knitting and showing the sweater that he had just finished knitting in the episode I had just been watching. It's like making small leaps through time.
I love this episode as always ❤ A joy to see what a beautiful shawl you are knitting for Sophia 🧶 I was excited to hear you are coming to Denmark my beautiful country And looking forward to next episode to see who you are visiting here 🇩🇰
Dear Andrea, dear Madeleine, thank you very much for such a brilliant episode again!!! Fruity knitting is my absolute favourite knitting podcast and it is even better than any magazine. You put so much work and effort and LOVE in every single part and I enjoy the beautiful music along as well. So far I found so much inspiration about knitting techniques, patterns, yarn, designers, composers, thoughts, and so on, it´s like a fruity fountain 😉! Have a great holiday! Love and blessings, all the best for you, Gesa
Absolutely the best chat I could have watched today! I've been following Charlotte for years now and was so happy to see her release her book. 😄 I've done her Perfect Pansy socks and had the trouble with some floats in those (my own beginner mistake!), but still adore wearing them. Her Rad radish socks are currently on my needles and I bet that one was all the rage when released in the UK because who doesn't love gardens there. 😂 My next pair will have to be the pumpkins, because I've put them off far too long. Thank you so much for having her on and doing this lovely interview! ♥
Wonderful! I "saved " this episode for a few weeks before watching and a) it was a treat worth waiting for and b) it's not so long till September now... I loved everything about it. Beautiful projects, inspiring designers and I really enjoyed hearing you both talk about Andrew. I think about him often when I pick up a lace project. Proud to be a Fruity Knitting Patron x
Literally tearing up reminscing about Andrew. The Bowie project had me agog. He was such a joyous light. I wish you, Andrea and Madeline the very best.
Great episode! I loved the fashion shoot: perfect location, music, & MODEL!! We are so lucky to have you both to look forward to in your knitting adventures. Thank You for all your creative efforts!
Thank you once again for another amazing podcast. I loved the interview and talk about sock knitting. Your quality knitting is superb, I just love seeing what you are making and to watch the progress. Have a wonderful holiday. Love from Western Australia ❤❤
What a terrific episode - very happy to be a Patreon supporter. Your interviews and quality of programming is truly one of the very best. I love both the finished tops you and Madeleine wore. And the wedding shawl is just gorgeous. I'd never seen the crochet bead option - absolutely need to give that a try. I'm so glad you showed off Andrew's beautiful lacework. What a treasure. ❤ I loved the coffee cup socks. This sockaholic may just be putting those on my todo list!
"Workhorse" sock yarns (like Regia f.ex., but there are similar ones out there), can absolutely take being thrown in the wash on even a hot cycle with the regular washing. This is the reason why, as much as I love some other yarns, I prefer them for gift knitting, esp. for people who will not care/or forget (even if they do regret it immediately!) to wash them seperately. Not that I'd RECOMMEND washing them that way, but they absolutely do fine and this way no special care is absolutely required if somebody isn't able to do that.
Fabulous ❤best show in town for knitting content. Always inspired ! Andrea and Madeleine your are a super team and I feel like you are my best friends 🤭 I encourage everyone to become a patron 🙏🏻
Another wonderful episode! Loved revisiting what Andrew made for you….definitely with Love! The wedding shawl is simply exquisite! Also Loved the interview with Charlotte and will give a good think about purchasing. Thank you so much and enjoy your time away!❤
Thank you for providing such great content! I have just purchased the sock book (I own others) because I love the potential and the “eye candy” . And as an aside I send you love and deepest respect for your grit to carry on and flourish even after great loss …I’m in awe 🥰 From Canada 🇨🇦 (Dutch 🇳🇱 by heritage) I also eat eggs for breakfast everyday!
How stunning was this episode! I love your knitting content and also your taste when it comes to knitting patterns. I was in tears when you showed Andrew's lace finished project !!! You are both doing a great job! Lots of hugs from Mannheim!❤❤❤❤❤
New tops are lovely and look fabulous on. What a wonderful local knitting shop. Life is Cozy designs have so many choices for me to consider. All lovely. Socks something else too. I will look for that book. Thank you again for another great show. Do enjoy the wedding and your Danish excursions.
Thank you for a lovely episode. I just need to mention that in stranded colourwork the critical point about yarn dominance is that the motif yarn is stranded under the background yarn and therefore has a longer float which makes the motif colour pop. Madeleine is incorrect to say that the background yarn is held in the left hard for two handed colourwork knitting. For an English style knitter the left hand usually carries the motif yarn but it's the way the yarn is floated that is more important.
Another fabulous edition, and I love the socks...and by the way...here in South Africa, we definitely eat Christmas pudding! Look forward to it all year round😀
Appreciate you two as much as I miss Andrew. I think at about 53:00 you meant motif color in left hand, not right hand, and background color in right hand. Whichever color you want to dominate, you put it closer to the direction you are knitting in, so that it travels under the background strand, so that it travels longer and makes larger stitches.
Excellent episode, thank you! I have a content idea, we are planning our first river cruise on the Rhine and I am finding little knitting footage of my destinations, including Amsterdam, Cologne with or without the cathedral, or Strasbourg. Anyway to include these destinations in an established segment (especially Extreme Knitting or Knitters of the World) would be wonderful. Thank you for reading this suggestion. I have watched every episode and I am a Patron.
Andrew and I share a love of lace, the one style of knitting that is difficult for men to wear. I'm an engineer and I love the geometric designs that can be formed from yarnovers. Fortunately there is no shortage of women who are happy to receive knitted lace scarves and shawls.
How lovely to hear you talk about Andrew. I do remember the pennies well! I remember laughing a lot at that and thinking that is so Andrew to devise a system. What a talented designer Ksenia Naidyon is, such beautiful designs.
This vlog is so beautifully, professionally done that it deserves a slot on public television.

Wow j’adore les bas de Charlotte 🎉

Good to see you again.

I love the music you select. It shows that you think in through.
Great episode 👌🏻. Looking forward to see you back in September. In the meantime enjoy your holiday ❤
Really enjoyed this episode…..because I am a sock knitter. Now I am going to get her book. Thank you!😍
