I've been eyeing that book for a while now and you thoroughly convinced me to order it right away - thank you! And, I hope I'm not overstepping, I was admiring your hair for the entirety of the video, it looks so lovely.
This was a wonderful book review, Marce! Thankyou so very much for taking the time to do this. I would not have looked at it as I have still not knit socks, but now I will get a copy when its available in the UK. It is absolutely beautiful and I really love the idea of colourwork socks now! As always - a joy to catch up with you and I really really love the new branding! X Ros X
You did a great job introducing Charlotte's sock pattern book. After you flipped through the pages I was definitely sold and bought the book before your podcast ended! I enjoyed your chat with Charlotte as well. I knit lots of socks which are all mostly gifted so this will be a much loved book with many new magical patterns. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thank you for sharing Marce! I just ordered the book. The chili pepper and coffee socks are my favorite. I currently have three pairs of socks on the needles. 🤗
Thanks for reviewing this book! I am nearly done with the first of a pair of the Coffee Break pattern, using some yarn from my stash. Main color uses two held together...a lace weight and a very light fingering. They work really well together, and I love that they've found their use at last! I really enjoy the Brown Berry podcasts. I always feel inspired and befriended when I watch!
I’ve been knitting vanilla socks all summer, ready for Christmas presents! I was on my penultimate pair when I got rushed into hospital with a gut perforation. This is my 7th week in hospital and I am now well enough to knit so I am working on these socks again! I have only ever knit vanilla socks with Opal yarn and I feel I really ought to try some colour work socks - especially after such a great review of this lovely book! It was inspiring to hear your view of the book and to hear from the designer too. Thank you 😊🙏
Thank you, Ms. BrownBerry for making me aware of this new book on the market. After your podcast I ordered it on-line, got it by mail and I'm loving it. Great review, thank you.
Oh, this is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for this! I always wanted to do color work but was truly intimidated. You and Charlotte made it sound so doable and enjoyed your kind voices talking abut your experiences. I will definitely buy this book. PS: your channel and podcast are a happy place for me.
Thank you... that was a great overview of this book. It's always nice to hear what content there is - especially for those of us who have to order online because we don't have a bookstore or LYS near us.
Thank you so much for this! I must confess I don’t know this designer but that will change when I get my hands on this beautiful book! Right up my street without a doubt! X
🙋🏽♀️Hey there and Happy New Year! One of your long time quiet sub’s here🤭. This was and AAAAAAAAWESOME book review and I wanted to take the time to “thank you for sharing” this with me. I will be purchasing the e-book on Amazon tonight, what a fun time I’m going to have. I hope you are well, thank you for having a safe space for all kinds of people especially introverts🫣hehe, I appreciate you and thank you for your authentic & candid chats over the years….it is grately needed especially in the fiber community xoxo🌷
I have the book but haven’t knit from it yet. I was intrigued by the whimsical patterns and love having colourwork motifs to use in my knits. I hope to make the tulip socks for my friend who is Dutch and chicken socks for my friend who raises chickens. Thanks for the review. Now I better get knitting.
I ordered this book too, it was love at first sight for me 😍, hope it comes soon ! Thank you for your review Marce ! Congratulations for Charlotte with this beautiful book!
This is a lovely review of her book. I enjoy how you've set it up and would love to see more reviews as well. I've done a tiny bit of colour work on 1 pair of socks. It didn't go well but do like the concept as I love colour work knitting. Right now I'm working on some vanilla Kroy socks, toe up, two at a time on 2 circular needles (my favourite method). I only had enough for the foot so I'm doing the leg in a different yarn, solid colour. Because it's been so long since my last socks I had to do a review of turning the heel/gusset! Completely forgot but all is fine now! HUgs
Hi Brenda! Love when you visit with me. I love the Kroy yarn as you may know, so I totally understand going toe up and using it all up. If you go for some colorwork, let me know.
Thanks for sharing this book! I rarely buy knitting books, but this one is a definite for me. I recently done my 1st colourwork project & am very excited to try some of these fun designs & practice my skills 😀
@@heyBrownBerry I did a hat, actually 2 of the Norn Rune Spread hat by Curio Stitches. Knit in rustic Irish yarns, so will be super warm if we get snow this year. 🌨☃️❄️
I am about to finish my first pair of socks and I am looking forward to making more and trying out color work! Thank you for your detailed and in-depth review. I find your voice very soothing and relaxing too. Just ordered the book! ❤
I really enjoyed it, and I especially loved hearing Charlotte‘s perspective along with my own impressions, which seemed to match in many areas. Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you for reviewing this book, I've had my eye on it. I'm knitting one of Charlotte's sock designs at the moment. Although I'm used to doing colour-work sweaters, it doesn't look as nice in my socks...I guess I'd better just keep trying 😊.
Hi there! I had a similar experience when I first tried a pair of colorwork socks, and I realized that I really had to adjust my needle size up a good bit from my normal sock needles. That just gave all the stitches some more space and allowed the more dense fabric to fit better.
Like I need more Pattern Ideas !! Thanks for a peek into the book! Love the Egg/Chicken socks! I’ve never knit colorwork socks, but I might have to get this book & try a pair or two or seven!! Thanks!!
I hit the "buy now" button on Charlotte's book right after I saw Denise's Ig post about its release. I've not done colorwork socks yet, and I'm looking forward to the Lavender Flowers sock as my first project. I have some John Arbon Exmoor sock yarn that will be perfect for that design. But I have so many future socks with yarn and pattern in my "knit me" sock box that I don't know when the colorwork socks will get to be first in line! (harping)Janet
I’m actually at a similar place with a queue, because Denise had the nerve to go and make her gorgeous colorway that I really want on the needles, so my to be knit list is stacking up. I don’t mind twinning with you in this way though, Janet 😆
@@heyBrownBerry It's a nice problem to have! All these intriguing sock patterns and all this beautiful yarn to knit them with! Happy to twin with you any day.
Hope all is well. Thank you for sharing. I’m learning color work this winter. I’m interested in making all the colorful things. 😂 I bought a book on color work but I may have to grab this one as well
Lovely book I will look for it! I’m still knitting on the addictive socks that Christie Archer of Christie Archer Designs. It has no heel and fits just beautifully but I do want to try a pattern with a heel soon!!! 🧶🧦
You’re welcome! Many patterns include both 56 and 72 stitch socks. You can try different needle sizes to get just the right fit on those stitch counts, too. Happy knitting!
Hey there! Thank you for that review, I need those coffee socks, my son’s girlfriend needs the chili pepper socks and my neighbor need the egg/chicken socks. Guess what I’m getting myself for early Christmas present! 🧦❤️🧶📘
Please share name of your flexible circular needles. What 3 circular needles sizes should I buy. I enjoy your tutorials tremendously. First time sock maker 🤷🏼♀️thank you bunches💐

Wonderful review and thoughtful interview from the designer. Book is ordered !! Thank you.
Henrietta, I hope you love it! The only issue might be choosing a project to start with as they’re all so delightful!
