Auditioning them by holding them next to each other in front of the calendar, adding a little wiggle, gosh it really brings me along with your thought process. I’ve begun doing it myself and it has made selecting color combos way more fun.

Summer, Your socks are beautiful! I stumbled upon your channel earlier in the week, I watched last week’s episode and immediately bought your book, which I absolutely LOVE! I’ve been knitting socks for years, and I always have a pair on my needles, they make fantastic take along projects and I wear my wool socks every day, unless it’s over 75 degrees, but if I’m hiking and it’s 80+, I’m wearing wool socks. I’m looking forward to knitting your patterns and trying your tips. BTW, I can’t remember ever laughing and smiling so much, as I do when watching your videos; I’m making my way through your other videos and they’re so much fun and you’re projects are so inspiring. I know that this is already 6 months old, but I just subscribed to your channel, and thought I would share my super easy method of keeping up with my yarn information. The answer for me was to buy a hand held hole puncher and extra bulb stitch markers to keep with my knitting essentials, so that when I am ready to use a skein or ball of yarn, or to remove the tag from a hank of yarn to wind into a cake, I will immediately remove and fold up the bands from the skeins and balls and the tags from the hanks, punch holes in them and attach them with a bulb stitch marker to the skein, ball or cake so that the information is always with them, even while I am using them. I am really enjoying your older content and looking forward to the new, as well!

So glad I found your channel last fall. Im upping my sock game. Wouldn’t you know , something is happening in my wrist…. Not carpal tunnel. Been there done that. I’m seeing the hand Dr next week. I’m knitting anyway and taking otc pain meds and resting it. I tried last spring to up my sock game and something interfered with my knitting. I like to save the labels of all the socks I knit each year. I put them into a ziplock bag and write the name of the person I knitted the socks for on the label. This practice helps me remember what I knitted for each person, and it also includes the care instructions in case they forget. Gosh, I just love your videos. If you have a Vampire Diaries hangover when it's finished I recommend watching The Originals.

I hear you with the refinery odors. I grew up in a town near a paper mill and when the inversion sent those lovely odors of rotten eggs into our valley-it was NOT delightful. We also had many lumber mills with teepee burners in town, so lovely odors were plentiful.

First of all, that bright blue is your color! You look stunning in it. Your hair and glasses go so well with it. I love those frames. Ok…now…you have always been my inspiration! When I found you a few years ago, I devoured your tutorials, ordered the “ color wok needles” and bought most of your patterns. ( couldn’t buy everyone because I wanted all of the yarn, as well). Anyway…I’ve yet to do one pair of color work socks! 😂😂. But this is it! My goal is to complete my socks I’m knitting now and then give the color work a whirl! I enjoyed that so much! Your socks are amazing. I just love your house. We don’t really have houses with front porches here in Scotland, at least not where I live, but I did live in Australia for a number of years and I can see similarities in house styles. I would love a front porch to sit and knit in, but the reality is it would probably be too wet or windy or freezing for most of the year. I suppose we can’t have it all. 🤷♀️ You did a great job sprucing up your porch, although I really didn’t think it was too bad to begin with! 👍💕

When you cake up your yarn skeins you can wrap the label around the outside of the cake and secure it with a piece of tape. This is assuming you like to pull the working yarn from the middle. I used to fold up the label and tuck it into the center of the cake but that was super annoying when knitting. The label around the outside works like a charm! 15:49

First of all, that bright blue is your color! You look stunning in it. Your hair and glasses go so well with it. I love those frames. Ok…now…you have always been my inspiration! When I found you a few years ago, I devoured your tutorials, ordered the “ color wok needles” and bought most of your patterns. ( couldn’t buy everyone because I wanted all of the yarn, as well). Anyway…I’ve yet to do one pair of color work socks! 😂😂. But this is it! My goal is to complete my socks I’m knitting now and then give the color work a whirl! I have some oral surgery coming up, and if I am able to concentrate, I will begin the pair then. I may even be able to send you a photo on IG. Btw, I wanted to add that it is so nice to see you knit English rather than continental. You are a fast knitter, too. I always felt badly that continental is just not that comfortable for me ( which is funny since I’m left handed). Thank you so much for your time, talent, and creativity. I also wanted to thank you for a colorwork sock that has a heel flap and gusset construction. That is my preferred method, those patterns are rare and I hope we might see more of them someday. I enjoyed that so much! Your socks are amazing. I just love your house. We don’t really have houses with front porches here in Scotland, at least not where I live, but I did live in Australia for a number of years and I can see similarities in house styles. I would love a front porch to sit and knit in, but the reality is it would probably be too wet or windy or freezing for most of the year. I suppose we can’t have it all. 🤷♀️ You did a great job sprucing up your porch, although I really didn’t think it was too bad to begin with! 👍💕

The colors really go well together.
When you cake up your yarn skeins you can wrap the label around the outside of the cake and secure it with a piece of tape. This is assuming you like to pull the working yarn from the middle. I used to fold up the label and tuck it into the center of the cake but that was super annoying when knitting. The label around the outside works like a charm! 15:49

I love knitted socks but tend to feel bogged down while knitting them, so you have really inspired me to enjoy knitting my socks more and to have fun with colors. As I have been watching your past few videos I have been knitting myself some Regia self-striping socks in a coral, lime green, rosy brown and light gray colorway that I love for Spring. Also your house and your porch are beautiful!
