Good video about Cartagena, so thumbs up No. 1000. We visited Colombia in 2017 and it is one of my Top 2 countries of the world, after visiting 137 countries.

Thanks for this video! I already visited Bogota, Colombia and I loved it!!!! But, I thinks I would love Cartagena more than Bogota, I loveeeeee the architecture and the colors. Probably will be visiting Cartagena this year ❤️😍 Good video!!!
This seems to be a very charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job!
Avoid the horse carriage tour …. Those horses are in bad shape and they suffered a lot of accidents that harms them. Many people from Cartagena are asking to stop this form of animal cruelty but it seems that money comes first. Sometimes you can se one horse pulling a carriage with 6 people…this is not fair for the horse.
One question, did you come across issues with drinking the water. Or when you are ordering local.. is there an issue with the water they use to make your drinks?

Thank you for an amazing, informative video from a photographer's point of view. I have a random question, how much is acceptable to tip there, particularly the native ladies with baskets that pose with you for pics? I'm going there at the end of the month. Thnx again!
I strongly agree & haven't visited yet (late this year) Too many travel videos are so commercial & edited they literally aren't worth watching.. I hope you enjoyed your trip though.
Cartagena is an average small Latin American city. Very beautiful things to see and also poverty. I agree, you should visit the whole city. When we can see everything, even those ugly things It's when we really understand the culture.
@@ONWorldTravel ua-cam.com/video/CWmLV3jU3NU/v-deo.html here's a good video of the place. Definitly by daring and get dunked under the mud. Great experience.
Palenque is a construction equivalent to the wooden forts in the wild west, they were built by escaped slaves and were the first republics on the american continent. They are found in other countries too.. The Palenque close to Cartagena is San Basilio de Palenque, in the 70s there was a moment when they had 3 world boxing champions in diffrent weights coming from that small town :)
I love Latin America! Calling street vendors "tourist traps" is a bit harsh -- They are just trying to make a living. When I first started traveling to Mexico and South America, it was definitely something to get used to, but I have nothing but respect for the men and women who walk the streets all day and night to make HONEST money. The vendors deserve respect and compassion, not judgement. Aside from that, LOL, I love your vlogging style and photography. Thanks for sharing! New subscriber here. I'm heading to Colombia in a couple weeks and arrive in Cartegena. I'm taking a few days to enjoy the city and I'm taking notes while watching this video.
Not always honest at all. I found them awful and real hustlers. Many have no respect for tourists ex the money we can send their way. They follow you, don't leave you alone. Never sit at an outdoor table- your meal will be ruined.
The street vendors are savages.. they won’t take No for an answer and become extremely aggressive. I understand everyone needs to make money and they live a hard life I would probably never understand, but not being able to walk five feet without being hit up to buy something or if you do decide to buy something they try to screw you over and charge you 3x the price and play games and try to scam you just ruins the whole experience of what could have been an amazing vacation in a beautiful place. Without regulating these street vendors Colombia will never be on top of the tourism industry
November is a bit on the warmer side compared to Dec-April but still a great time to visit! The advantage is there are less tourists and flights should be cheaper..
Did you visit the beaches in Bocagrande? I spent a bit of time there. It's a gorgeous area! Just so women know, expect a few men to flirt with female solo travelers either to get an easy ride into a developed country or to leech money from you. I was lucky to have had great friends in Manizales who treated me as they would have treated any local woman, but in Bogota and Cartagena, I met both types. Needless to say that I stayed away from the leeches and spent time with the gentlemen.
Great video, but next time maybe choose a different mode of transportation around the city. Horses and other labour animals are notoriously overworked in many countries.
Not too sure at the moment, things have been changing a lot lately and we are currently living in the US...I'd join an Colombian expat group on Facebook

Just got back from Colombia. In Cartagena you will be harassed constantly by street rappers and club promoters from the afternoon to late into the night. Also to keep in mind that there are a lot of sex workers in the streets. Those women will not harass you nor talk to you, they will just stand there until a client goes up and talks to them. Other than that Cartagena was a great place to visit.

You don’t “have to” give money to the ladies. You can tip them, (a small amount), if you want.
