Late to the party here. I too have a 2017 Trophy SE. I've got about 36K miles on mine. I agree with every point you made. I did change the windshield on mine to V Stream unit but other than that, it's been very good to me. Another point to make is the 10K service interval. It's a great bike for anyone who enjoys the ability to travel long distances at fairly high speed. Excellent review you made.
@@WindyTherapy The V Stream is great. I've been on sport touring bikes for a long time and most didn't offer enough upper body protection. I knew the stock one was pretty small so I made that a must change item. I really like the V Stream. I can just see over it if I sit really straight but normally I look through the upper part. I had to get used to that. After all these miles, I wouldn't go back to a stock one. Sad that the bike was dropped from the lineup. I really think it was and still is the best all around sport touring bike on the market. Ride safe there man.

Agreed on the seat height. I have a 2017 also. I'm 5' 9" and I immediately bought the Heated Low seat and had the chassis lowered about an inch and that solved the whole problem. Surprisingly, the seat, although it looks comfortable, does tend to wear on the butt. Extra padding is probably the cheapest solution. Center stand.....I just took mine off and that saves weight too. Other than that, best bike I've ever had, for it's purpose. No issues. Shaft drive. My favorite feature is the adjustable electronic windshield. I have found if you put your Triumph Trophy in the 2 up mode it's easier to put the bike on the center stand. I put mine in sport mode the other day and when I stopped to add fuel there was no way I could get in on the center stand. Previously I had it in the 2 up mode and didn't have any trouble getting it on the Center Stand. However in sport mode the bike is lower and with my 31" inseam and thick sole boots I can stand flat footed on the bike.
That’s a good idea buddy ! It totally makes sense as in 2 up the bikes goes up hence making it easier to get the job done. (Another way is by removing the top and side bags but the 2 up is definitely easier) Thanks 🙏🏻 for sharing your hack with us.
Indeed ! This is the point buddy. The bike comes fully loaded with all comfort and safety features that others would charge extra. great honest review. I have a 1973 Norton Commando in the Brits heritage.I compare My Kawasaki Concours 14 to some of functions and power ,riding modes etc. My kawa triumph ktm dealer has a 2017 fully loaded and max accessories 24,000 miles $9995 great price for bike . I did not know last year for trophy. I,m 69 and have had many many bikes motors, etc but this bike I would also love ,I'm only 5-9" so could be a factor. I think I sold it to a customer in shop last night instead of salesman, who was busy. ride safe Tim
Hi Tim, it doesn’t hurt to check it out and take it for a ride. The beauty of the TTSE is the fact it comes fully loaded and the one exception is the top box which may or may not be included. I believe the riding experience would be similar to the Concours. Thanks a lot for you kind feedback. Cheers, Eddie
I recently sold my 2014 and I've already decided I'm going to have to buy another one.Addressing the seat issue,I have a personally 10k mile tested one. Mr. Ed's custom seats in Albany Oregon . I learned about him from a GS rider who does iron butt rides. The guy gets your height, weight and usage and does a custom rebuild on your stock seat. Then re-covers it just like stock. I've done 900+ miles days on mine and can attest to its comfort.Only other mod I did was a V-Stream windshield so I could cruise at high speed without air pushing on the back of my helmet.
A very good, in depth review. I am not a motorbike man but, I feel like I learned something from this video. The bike is gorgeous btw. Rather large as well. This looks like something my Father would enjoy.
When I got mine someone already lowered it. The first change I made was to go back to stock height because I was scraping hard parts too early. The next thing I had to do was a full exhaust and a piggy back fuel controller. Aside from that, leg room was a little tight so crash bars and forward pegs were a must. Great review on a great bike. 6 ft here also.
Thanks buddy !! Looking back I should’ve installed the crash bars but the price tag (USD 750.00) kept pushing it down the list. Sadly I dropped the bike twice (at 0 Kms/hour) and scratched the bags and cracked the front blinker lens)
Nice review. It looks like you covered all the important aspects. Since I don’t ride motorcycles I never thought about the height- i think I’m too short for that one LOL
I owned a Trophy SE, a 2015 model in blue. Same as the 2017 version except for lacking the Triumph logo on the clutch cover. A powerful, luxurious machine with excellent weather protection (almost TOO good in hot weather!). I sold it though due to the number of recalls and the fact my local dealer lost their Triumph franchise. Cheers from Edmonton, Alberta.
Indeed it is a great bike. I am not sure if they fixed all the bugs but I only had one recall in 2018 and that was it. Edmonton has a nice dealer that I like as they have several brands under one roof. (Argyll Motorsports)
@@WindyTherapy Yes, Argyll now has the Triumph franchise in Edmonton, unfortunately their service department has a nasty reputation so I'm hesitant to buy from them.
Right ?!? How good can the review be when you only take a brand new bike for a spin ? Anything new works great. Even mopeds are great when they are brand new ! Lol
I wouldn’t go as far as saying I love the bike but I really like it. (I am not materialistic and a motorcycle is simply an expensive bicycle) The best part is the fact I didn’t have to spend any money with mods or upgrades
I own a 2015 bike and I agree with you, the seat is not comfortable. I can last about 2 hours maximum then I need to get off and stretch my legs. As for the centre stand I can do it and have found that rather than lift the bike onto the stand i have to push down on the stand and the bike rise’s up. I’m 6’ and weigh about 190lbs.
As far as the center stand, when I need to use it, I change the setting to 2 up and the bike suspension goes up and becomes much easier to put the bike onto the center stand. Give this one a try ! 🖖
I had a 1996 triumph Daytona. It's the bike I loved the most. This is a far better bike and is better in every way apart from the styling. Shaft drive, comfort and solid, reliable, a true bargain. Yes even my 900 Daytona was economical at below 5000rpm gentle on the throttle. The engines are a 🍑 torquey too, very robust and under rated. Great build quality like the 800 tiger which will last over 150000 miles with regular oil changes. The brakes and handling is out of this world and the fuel consumption is great especially on a long run and far better than the Yamaha 600 Fazer.
Very good overview of the bike. The seat height would be an issue for me...31.5" inseam for me. Seats seem to be a challenge on many bikes no matter the brand. Ride safe Eddie. 👍👊
Great Review! Love the organization by segments. Honest review too. Quick question, how about Triumph parts availability for the Trophy? Cany you still source parts since the bike stopped production in 2017? Appreciate your time! Keep riding, great wind therapy!
As far as parts, manufacturers have to provide spare parts at least for 10 years after they stop manufacturing a particular model. (Same with cars and trucks) So .... we have few more years to worry about but it is something that is on the back of my mine. The engine, break and transmission aren't an issue as they the same as the Tiger. T The main issue will be the Tupperware, turn indicators, headlight, tail light and some other specific components. Sadly ... I dropped mine twice 😬 and got some scuffs and cracked the RHS front turn signal lense so I need to fix in the near future. All in all it is still a great bike !
Hey ! Very good vidéo, Thank you I've just bought à 2015 TT SE even though I'm able to have a new BMW RT ! First of all because of the engine and she's so pretty and sexy. It's unbelievable that the production of this fantastic model has stopped ... Cheers from France🇨🇵 and ride safe 😉
I keep looking on the Trophy's seat height and it seems to vary wildly between 780 and 820mm. I ride a Pan European and it is about 790/800 so I don't think a Trophy is much different. If you are used to riding big bikes, you are used to riding big bikes, regardless of your height.
I hear you but shorter people have a harder time moving the bike around, standing by traffic lights or holding if it starts tipping. (But you’re right, once the wheels start turning the size of the bike doesn’t matter)
Thanks 🙏🏻 buddy ! Yeah the seats aren’t the best but in the city doesn’t bug me. (Long trips is a different story) I just have a hard time embracing the idea of buying an aftermarket seat that goes for about Can 700.00. So far my 50 bucks pad is doing the trick. Happy Friday RJ ! Cheers 🍻
I've had a BMW RT1200 and K1600 before this TT. Both bikes I could flip up onto the centre stand with no issues and I'm only 5 foot 6. I had this TTSE lowered so my short legs will fit haha, but I still cannot get it up on the stand. The last time it went in for a service the mech couldn't get it on the centre stand either!
@@freyjawithwoman6799 Yes, agreed on the stand, and lowering the bike, like I did on mine also. It just makes it harder, cause you're trying to lift the bike up even more. That's why I took my center stand off completely, which saves on weight and doesn't hang down in the lowered state of the motorcycle. Happy riding for us shorter guys. : )
What turned me away from this bike was the valve check schedule, it's insane on a bike meant for long distance touring. And it's not like the valves are accessible like on a Moto Guzzi or BMW...
I hear you but honestly after 50,000 it hasn't been an issue for me. I was looking into the BMW RT but it was double the price and requires premium gas if I am not mistaken.
@@WindyTherapy Used BMWs are very attractive (you can easily find an R1200RT for 6000$CAD with electronic suspensions, etc), but their problem is that with high mileage, your risk of needing a new drive shaft or clutch or ABS sensor increases drastically and it will cost you thousands to have it done. What I like about the BMW is that the valves take all of 5 minutes to get to. Yamaha have had 40000km+ valve check schedules for probably over 2 decades...this should be the minimum requirement for all brands. The valves on my DR are every 12000km, but people rarely ride 5-600km a day on a DR like you would on a touring machine, and its a 45 minute job.
@@Speedytrip Great points buddy ! Indeed. What are you riding now ? I am getting ready for a long trip across North America so I hope everything goes smoothly
@@WindyTherapy Lucky you, ride safe! Im picking up a 2008 concours 14 with 158000km on the clock this afternoon, lets see how many km are left in it! This should make for some interesting YT content Hehe
Well at 5'10" I guess I will not fit. I must say it's a very luxurious ride and very well equipped. Triumph and their center stands are very challenging to get the bike up on. I made a little 2×6 ramp to get the back tire up. Pops up alot easier. Cheers Eddie
It is funny you mentioned the 2X6 ! I have a small piece of 2x6 that I use when I need to put the bike on the center stand. (interesting that just 2" is enough to get it done) Someone made a comment on FB saying that after he made changes to the rear suspension he no longer has issues to put it on the center stand so ..... Something hit me on my way home back from Calgary few minutes ago. How about if I use the bike electronic pre load system ? Tomorrow I will try it ! If I set it for 2 up or rider plus luggage the bike may go up high enough to get it done ! Time will tell buddy.
Decent review. I have put on over 44,000km's on my trophy. (You might have seen my long term review). One of the biggest and best addition to my trophy was a titanium Remus pipe. Another addition to the review suggestion would be the amazing comfort for the passenger overall.... my girl loves the seat. Seeing that the bike is a 2 up bike, the suspension adjustment for 2 up with luggage is spot on! It corners very very well with a passenger. Thanks for the review! 👍 The Triumph Knight
Thanks for your feedback TK ! Yes I’ve seen your review and if I am not mistaken was before I bought mine. My wife still prefers my previous bike (Suzuki Boulevard) as far a the passenger comfort but we’re all different.
@@WindyTherapy There is the weight advantage. Which you don't notice. But I certainly did notice an increase in power. Hard to say exactly how much but it was very noticeable. Other than that the sound is amazing compared to the stalk sound. When you go through a Canyon it really echoes through the Canyon like a trombone .
I was just done selling my Honda ST1300. Was just about to bite on the Triumph trophy. Completely disappointed with the engine noise, for a sports touring bike.
Yes, the sound wont turn any heads nor is exciting for most riders. (for me coming from a loud cruiser, I truly enjoy its stealth mode mainly during long trips) . Having said that, some folks install an aftermarket exhaust to improve the performance and to get a mean sound so it can be solved with a small investment. 🙌
Good review, but I totally disagree with your opinion of the comfortability of the seat. I ride mine very hard for 8hrs straight with no problem at all. I'm 6'2" and it's a dream to ride for as long as I'm willing.
I believe you buddy ! This is like asking if a soft mattress is better than a hard one. It is a matter of preference and the OEM seat seems to be the right one for you. Thanks for stopping by and joining the conversation. Cheers, Eddie

Oh I would love to get my hands in a Norton Commando !!!
Thanks so much for the tips buddy ! I will check Mr. Ed’s and a V-Stream is on my bucket list. Cheers, Eddie
hey mate, what model V-Stream windshield fits the TTSE? cheers, from OZ.

Thanks 🙏🏻 This is a pretty good review of Triumph Trophy ! Nice job. 🎉
Glad it was helpful!😍
A very good, in depth review. I am not a motorbike man but, I feel like I learned something from this video. The bike is gorgeous btw. Rather large as well. This looks like something my Father would enjoy.
Thanks my friend ! Send you Dad over and he can take it for a spin ! Thanks for stopping by buddy.
The exhaust upgrade is definitely on my radar !!
I appreciate your feedback and support. Happy New Year ! Eddie
Nice review. It looks like you covered all the important aspects. Since I don’t ride motorcycles I never thought about the height- i think I’m too short for that one LOL
Too bad Uta I wouldn’t mind to lend you the bike ! lol! Thanks for stopping by and watching it. Cheers, Eddie
Maybe Ron can touch the ground! lol
@@WindyTherapy oh he could! He’s 6’3”
@@SaltyBeaverExplores YES ! He qualifies! Lol
Thanks for stopping by, cheers. Eddie
@@WindyTherapy Yes, Argyll now has the Triumph franchise in Edmonton, unfortunately their service department has a nasty reputation so I'm hesitant to buy from them.
Fantastic rider/owner review.
Every point you have raised I agree with 100% all the good and all the bad 👍
Thanks a lot Frank !! I really appreciate your kind comment. All the best as always.
Fantastic review bud, filmed and elaborated fantastically! 🔥🔥
Thank you so much for stopping by ! I really appreciated it. Cheers, Eddie
I like when folks give reviews after riding a few years...great job!! I'm glad you love riding your bike so much!!
Thanks for stopping by as usual Jody ! I really appreciate it. Eddie
@@WindyTherapy 😂😂😂
@@WindyTherapy and that is awesome!
I love Triumph bikes thanks for the review.
Yes, a legendary manufacturer that makes pretty good bikes. Thank you 🙏🏻 !
Thanks Peter ! I've been using one of those inflatable seat pads and it helps me a lot as far as being able to ride longer.
As far as the center stand, when I need to use it, I change the setting to 2 up and the bike suspension goes up and becomes much easier to put the bike onto the center stand. Give this one a try ! 🖖
Thanks for stopping by ! HNY 🍾
The Daytona is truly an iconic bike and one of my favourites! Thank you so much for insightful comments and consideration!
Cheers, Eddie
Very good overview of the bike. The seat height would be an issue for me...31.5" inseam for me. Seats seem to be a challenge on many bikes no matter the brand. Ride safe Eddie. 👍👊
You bet and the older we get it doesn’t get any easier my friend. Thanks a lot my friend. Happy Friday!
Great deal
Thanks man. Indeed ! Great bike for Can 16,000 (USD 10,000) new ! Thanks for stopping by. Cheers, Eddie
Great Review! Love the organization by segments. Honest review too. Quick question, how about Triumph parts availability for the Trophy? Cany you still source parts since the bike stopped production in 2017? Appreciate your time! Keep riding, great wind therapy!
Hey Jeff ! Thanks for your kind comments. I really appreciated buddy 🙌
The main issue will be the Tupperware, turn indicators, headlight, tail light and some other specific components.
Sadly ... I dropped mine twice 😬 and got some scuffs and cracked the RHS front turn signal lense so I need to fix in the near future.
All in all it is still a great bike !
Really awesome bike - I can tell how much you love it!
Indeed ! Other than being my weekend toy it is also my commuter (I don’t have a vehicle) Thanks for watching, cheers !
Hey ! Very good vidéo, Thank you
I've just bought à 2015 TT SE even though I'm able to have a new BMW RT ! First of all because of the engine and she's so pretty and sexy.
It's unbelievable that the production of this fantastic model has stopped ...
Cheers from France🇨🇵 and ride safe 😉
Merci mon ami !! Yes it is sad they stopped it but I wouldn't be surprised if it comes back in the future. I hope it was helpful. Cheers, Eddie
Note: Cancelling the TTSE was a "genius" decision from a past VP of marketing that came from Buell / HD. (Needless to say he's gone)
Merci ! 🖖
Thank 's a lot for your answer !
@@jeanmichelfils9032 Anytime !
That's a great review and the motorcycle looks great. Want to ride it.:)
Just come over and I will let you ride ! LOL. I truly appreciate your time. Thanks, I am glad you liked it. Cheers
Very good review Eddie. I wonder about seats as it appears everyone has to replace them. I had the same problem with my HD's and the new Chieftain.
Cheers 🍻
That is a beautiful bike, thanks for sharing
Thank you for your feedback !
I truly appreciate your time and I am glad you liked it.
Great review! I dropped my TTSE trying to get it on the centre stand. Very valuable lesson resulting in me only using the side stand ever since!
Yes it is a bugger and as I said I kinda gave up. It shouldn’t be this hard and if you check the BMW or Goldwings you can do it very easily
Thanks 🙏🏻 for watching it ! Cheers, Eddie
Thanks for stopping by.
Very good review bro. That is indeed a very nice touring bike 👍
Thanks my friend. Yes, the bike has been great and a non brainer when I found a new one for 16,000. Happy Friday ! Eddie
Nice that the rain goes around your legs and hands!
Right ?!? As long I am riding I don’t get wet ! That’s super coolio
(interesting that just 2" is enough to get it done)
Someone made a comment on FB saying that after he made changes to the rear suspension he no longer has issues to put it on the center stand so ..... Something hit me on my way home back from Calgary few minutes ago. How about if I use the bike electronic pre load system ? Tomorrow I will try it ! If I set it for 2 up or rider plus luggage the bike may go up high enough to get it done ! Time will tell buddy.
Thanks for stopping by Ron ! I appreciated it ! 🙏
Hey Ron. I am 5'10" and my trophy fits me very well. Not sure what your concern was in this category. I have put over 44,000km's on mine.
#1 thing I hate about my trophy is how hard it is to find accessories/parts. Since it’s discontinued. Been trying to get a top box for a while now.
Hi Daniel ! That's also true ! Very few aftermarket accessories are available hence we are stuck with OEM stuff. Thanks for stopping by. Cheers, Eddie

The Triumph Knight
Thanks for your feedback TK ! Yes I’ve seen your review and if I am not mistaken was before I bought mine. My wife still prefers my previous bike (Suzuki Boulevard) as far a the passenger comfort but we’re all different.
What’s the benefit of the Remus pipe ? Improve the sound or did you see performance enhancements?
Thanks again ! Have a great 2023

@@WindyTherapy Yes everybody is different that's for sure. At least we're all riding on 2 wheels. Lol

Thanks for watching and commenting ! Cheers 🖖

More or less buddy. It has been a pretty reliable and inexpensive (for its category)

Is not the speed triple motor. That would be the 1050 cc
