    This was my first ever GIJoe toy, and I got it for XMas '82. For its time, it was really an outstanding toy.

    This was one of the first gi joe things I ever got. It was for Christmas and I got a few figures and the forward observer. My dad was in Vietnam so he thought these were cool I was 4-5 years old. He said “if you join the army you better like green”

      My Dad was there too. My cousin Sal received most of the 1982 lineup for Christmas and I was like what??? Lol my Dad gave me the skystriker for the following Christmas and I've been hooked on JOE ever since.

    I have quietly watched you and your videos for years...since 2015. You have gotten really good at this and offer the best (and most entertaining) GI Joe reviews on youtube. You really should get paid for this and have your own show somewhere. You are a talent!

    The reason the Mobat climbs better in reverse is the tank always wanted to be able to get out of trouble as quickly as it got into trouble.

  • @T2Tiberious

    Steeler deserved another figure and a more prominent role in the comics as a proper officer. He is often treated as another sergeant or corporal. He was more than just a tank driver---he had a lot of cross training in cover ops as well, which I liked for his character.

    The MOBAT was my “big” Christmas present of 82. I absolutely punished that thing. Pushed it to its off-road limits outside.

    My cousin's MOBAT and Flash were the first Joes I ever saw/played with. The biggest vehicle of the original series -- good stuff!

    In Canada STEELER's birthplace was Hamilton Ontario. This is the steel producing capital of Canada much like Pittsburgh in the USA. Hamilton is also my home town... Thus, Steeler rocks!!!

    I grew up as a kid in the 80s and my dad was a Vietnam era veteran so I loved "real" military type vehicles and especially GREEN for the good guys. The Mobat was just awesome for this and I would support it with several Armadillo tanks as a unit. My figures fought "The giants" where I would combine G.I. Joe and Cobra and their vehicles against He Man and Skeletor and their "giants" figures as a combined enemy. Castle GreySkull and Snake Mountain got bombed a LOT in those days and my Joes had a Cinder Block Fortress of Freedom, LOL.

    I always preferred the lots of green. It made it feel more real to me as a kid. I think that's why I always preferred the 1960s GI Joe's growing up. I wasn't restrained to GI Joe and cobra with ridiculous cartoon vehicles I could do any military operation I wanted. But I loved the green vehicles for the three and three quarter inch because I would pretend my GI Joe's are generic troops and could fight dinosaurs, Cobra, or anything that I threw at them.

    My brother and I had one of these each in the lighter green colour of the Z Force vehicles as released under the action force toy line. Steeler wore lighter green and a red helmet. I made a suspension bridge out of lego that took the weight of both tanks with a lot of flexing.
    If you bend Steelers legs a little he stands a bit lower in the turret.

    I liked the Mobat. My ony issue is the scale. It is too small for a tank. It should have fit Moore than one figure (3 or 4) and they should be able to be fully inside the vehicle hatch down like the Warthog.

    I think it's time to see the GI Joe Mauler.

  • @SimpleTricksNonsense
    @SimpleTricksNonsense 3 роки тому

    I preferred the Mauler to the MOBAT. With the heavy batteries in the front of the MOBAT any time mine climbed an abrupt incline and came down (Like over a book or uneven sidewalk or paving stone) the front end would hit so hard that the batteries would fall out of the battery compartment and the toy would stop dead in its tracks. Going backwards over the same incline this flaw wouldn't occur. Later when I got the Mauler it never had that problem.

    "From an era before ninjas."
    Also mentions earlier in the video that Snake Eyes came out that year. There wasn't an era of GI Joe without ninjas then. They were there from the beginning.

    • @veritech1020
      @veritech1020 3 роки тому +2

      Snake-Eyes was originally just a commando. He wasn't referred to as a ninja in the toy line or cartoon until 85. The comic had a much more subtle take on his skills, but still didn't actually refer to his ninja skills until the Silent Castle.

    As for HCC taking a couple days off is cool. Everyone needs time off. But I do have a suggestion, instead of toy reviews, some videos of what shenanigans he goes through during the week. I bet he has funny day to day things he does
