What a great store. It is just like many of the Amish Country Stores that we have around us. There are a lot of goodies in there. Thanks for sharing this store with us.
Shawnasi will have to let me know how the fried pies turn out. We love going into Amish stores looking around and this is definitely a nice one. That's a good idea to get the extracts to make homemade ice cream. Glad you got zucchini fries. 🤣Thanks for the excellent review!
You are very welcome. Yes, this is a really nice Amish store. We had searched for one near Lebanon also, but couldn't find one very close by. We enjoyed meeting up with y'all.
Oh, wow! That is great. We just missed you. We were there Friday night, and again for lunch on Saturday. How did you know we went to Bonanza to eat? I didn't remember mentioning that in this video. Maybe I did.
My dad was originally from Pennsylvania and everytime we would go up there to visit we would get a shoe fly pie. I've made them as well and they are delicious. Looks like you will be eating some good homemade fried pies.😊 God bless you all.
This may sound silly but i literally live 6 miles from troyers and ive never been in the store part. I have stopped in for some of those huge donuts a few times in the little building tho....they are amazing!
Nice story on troyers! I can't believe all the Amish goods in Tenn. Here I thought here in North IN was where it all was at🤣 only 45 mins from shipshewana! The big flea mkt & E&S BULK AMISH GOODS. I call it the Amish Costco! 😅
I live near Amish and Mennonite area of Western Pennsylvania. To me, when I walk into these shops, I am like a kid in a toy store! I always take a cooler or two. It’s very easy to get caught up on the various types of groceries items and meats. Troyer’s kolbassi is delicious. My husband always had to have some baked goods and candy and nuts and snacks! I usually liked the spices, soup items. Those long plastic of fruit are used in baking. Filled cookies, and long rolled dough that you roll up and bake. The Kutztown birch and root beer are my favorites. Homemade butter and slab bacon, dried chipped beef! Oh my goodness I am getting carried away. I got a kitchen gadget too, a cake tester to see if the middle is done baking and I use it to test boiling potatoes to see if they are cooked properly for potato salad. Excited you got the zucchini frozen sticks. One more item is cheese curds. I am done jabbering on! 🤣🤣😂🌸
Just looked up where that is from our house here in Pennsylvania. It is made in Natrona Heights Pa. about an hour from our house. Would love to try those pies !!!
I wish there was an Amish Store nearby in my neck of the woods. Like you said in the video, they carry things that you just can't find in regular stores. Hope you are having a great weekend.
Just added this place to our drive on 21st March. At this rate we'll have a car full of Amish food. Thanks for the recommendation, my wife loves you two. 😃. In the UK we have fruit cake at Christmas. Lovely with a piece of cheddar.
So glad you enjoyed the video. You will be coming through this area in March?. Hope you have a great trip, and enjoy your stop at the store. Let us know how you like it. Thanks for watching all the way from the UK!
Yes, we knew we could use stuff out of a can, but I'm thinking those plastic fruit tubes that they had in the store, would probably be better. I'm looking forward to her using her new gadget, and making some great stuff with it.
Enjoyed your video. I’m new to your channel. David of #vafunseekers is my son, and I saw where you and your wife joined David, Cindy, and my precious Carly for a meal at Bonanza Steakhouse. I love going to Amish inspired businesses. Would love to visit here myself.
Yes, we had a great time with David, Cindy, and your sweet granddaughter Carly, this past Friday evening. We have become friends with them through our respective UA-cam channels, and we always enjoy being able to get together with them. God has blessed you with a wonderful family, and we are glad to have gotten to know them. We too, love Amish businesses like this. We are glad you enjoyed the video, and we hope you get to visit this store soon. Thanks so much for watching!
I had to do jury duty in Greeneville and month or so back and had to drive past Troyer’s to & from!! The last day of jury duty I stopped & got some of the egg, bacon & cheese bread plus a bunch of other things but we made breakfast sandwiches with that bread and it was sooo good!!
Derrick, you and Shawnasi should go to Ohio Amish country one day. Brenda and I go at least once a year. You would get several videos out of the trip. Lots of neat places to see there. You would really enjoy Lehmans hardware. Among many other places. Henie's cheese factory. They have probably 100 different cheeses you can sample
Thank you for the suggestion. If we make it up that way, we'd love to do that. I'm sure there would be a lot of great video opportunities. Are the Amish people generally more open to being put on camera now?
You were right that Carolina Reaper was the hottest pepper. Ed Currie of Fort Mill SC has beat his own record with Pepper X. He has a small store on Main Street Fort Mill named Pucker Butt. “With a spiciness level of 2.693 million Scoville heat units (SHU) on average, Pepper X handily unseated the previous hottest pepper on Earth, the Carolina Reaper-also bred by Currie, who founded the PuckerButt Pepper Company, a hot pepper farm and pepper-product supplier in Fort Mill, S.C. (For comparison, jalapeños ...”
Thank you for this comment. There is always somebody who wants to argue that point. One other video where I said about the Carolina Reaper being the hottest, a guy came in there and tried to say the Trinidad Scorpion was hotter. It simply is not. The same guy that bred the Carolina Reaper, did breed the Pepper X. I really don't know much about the Pepper X, except that the Reaper is one of its parent plants.
@@NCMemoryMakers our teenage grandson went through the phase of pepper challenges. Once I took him to Smokin Ed’s store and Ed gave him a chip from the chip challenge and a bottle of a newly released sauce. Ed told Caleb “ Just pay it forward.” If you look up Ed Currie’s story you will see he has quite an interesting life story.
We are from Caldwell County, but we did visit the Hamptonville store last year. We did a video there. We are a little over an hour away from Hamptonville.
She loves candy corn, but her favorite is probably a York Peppermint Patty. I like the Hershey's dark chocolates, or maybe even peanuts covered with dark chocolate. Also love the Lindor truffles.
If yall ever venture out to Bear Creek NC there's an establishment called Supreme Southern Fruitcakes. People who don't like Fruitcake l9ve their Fruitcake! It's mostly nuts. They also have all sorts of other baked thinks, cookies, cheese wafers etc. Spiced nuts, jams and jellies as well as gift baskets already made up. They'll give you samples. Give it a try if you're ever down that way. Its off hwy 421.
Thank you for the recommendation. I would probably have to try one of their other items, though. Being full of nuts is one of the things I would not like about it, as I don't generally like nuts in sweet things. But I would certainly like to check the place out if we are down that way. I would love to see what kinds of cheeses and cookies they have.
I found that same pie press at Marshall's at Christmas time. Works great! Enjoy
Thank you for letting us know. Glad you like yours. Looking forward to trying it out.
Really like the Amish market. God bless and safe travels.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.

Wow. The Amish Bucees! 😂 Awesome! They have EVERYTHING!!
They do have a great selection of various items. Things you can't really find in most places.

The dough press is good for making pizza.
Sounds like a great idea!
Kutztown soda is made in Kutztown PA.
