Please do Greenville because we are so populated and it’s like everybody keeps moving here from states far away. You can’t even find mini houses to rent here anymore. They used to be all over the place and now it’s very few and far between. I’m happy to see somebody local or at least nearby is doing videos like this.
I'll just throw in my 2 cents. I'm moving to Kingsport from south-central Pennsylvania. I found the same size house there as my 3-bedroom house in Lancaster County for $75K less. Just about everything else costs less in Tennessee compared to many other states -- low property tax, no state income tax, no inheritance or estate taxes, low gas prices, no toll roads, and plenty of jobs. Another plus for Kingsport is you can quickly drive north into Weber City, VA to take advantage of that state's lower sales tax. Every city or town has there own set of pluses and minuses. It's up to the individual to figure out what's a good fit for their lifestyle and financial circumstance. Moving there will save me over $30K in taxes in the next decade after escaping from Pennsylvania.
@@stephencobaugh9625 I’ll throw my 2 cents in too. We still live in California 😖🙃soon to TN to retire and NOT bringing our politics. We will blend in beautifully. We came home from Kingsport a week ago, and I have to admit I was baffled by the grocery prices …it’s about the same as in CA……I guess we have to drive to Weber city in VA. 😊
They don't mention the rotten egg smell that drifts across the town from the local plants, or the drug addicts and homeless people. Nor a peep about the murders and missing children. It's also becoming overcrowded with people moving here from California and northern states and the traffic is so bad now. Research before you move!!!
Fun fact: my dad only takes me to Johnson city to see some railroad crossings. Pigeon forge for some fun stuff. Kingsport to get me dropped off at moms. And bristol for his home
It's actually quite stagnant and dying. Was very vibrant many years ago but there's not much here now. Very few places to shop. Mostly chain restaurants. Ballad Health has a monopoly on all hospitals in the area and have ruined healthcare here and it will most likely never be much better.😢
We love Kingsport having moved here last year. Warriors Path and Bays Mountain are so beautiful and lots of fun. Kingsport has everything we need. Downtown is charming and very nice.
I've only smelled a few times when driving by Eastman and it was from the highway nearby on a cloudy day. I live in the city and I'm probably 2 miles from Eastman. I spend a lot of time outdoors. It's a lovely town. We love it here.
@@jeromenelson5280 I have only ever smelled Domtar, because there's a grocery store literally across the street. It smelled like any paper plant, unpleasant but not down right nasty. I wouldn't want to live anywhere near it. I have had no occasion to go anywhere near Eastman other than driving through or next to and I was never assaulted with anything nasty smelling.
Rent doesn’t seem a whole lot cheaper. It’s still over $1000. Except compared to liberal states like New York, rent still costs $1000 but the wage is still $7.25. Do with that what you will
Its getting a lot of new people and lots of new home building. Good shopping. I like visiting sine my relatives moved there quite sometime ago. People are focusing more on Rogersville since little Summer Wells went missing about three miles ago. No one has to worry about crime there because my Psychic Guides tells me the Summer case is a family affair. Just a fight between the kids who got into a fight and Summers little brother threw her downstairs. She was reported as missing but my Spiritual Guides in heaven and they showed me their soul records and what really happened. Later when the kids confessed to what happened the father put Summer into the truck and drove off to local cemetery in a lump of trees where he buried her. No one there seems to believe in Psychics including the Sheriff who has said Psychics are worthless. I got this information from God and the soul records so guess he doesn't think much of God either than that I really like Tennessee.
Kingsport it also have a high number of lottery winners in Tennessee I'm thinking about moving to win me some money I live in West Tennessee where's the lottery doesn't send that much money😂
@@LivinginJohnsonCityTennessee I have never had the desire to live any where else. I guess that's why I don't understand why so many people want to move. this is a good video, but it's sugarcoating a lot. I have lived here pretty much my entire life... It's not all it's made up to be. Every city has its flaws, but Kingsport is the worst in everything. downtown constantly smells like sulfur and sewage due to the Eastman.. In fact the whole city stinks... literally. There is nothing fun to do here as everything is in Bristol or Johnson city. We have some festival-like things here during summer, but even they have decreased in quality. Everything in this city has either shut down, or moved. Everything here gets boring immediately. The only place that is taken care of is the downtown area, and some of the areas around DB, but the rest is neglected. The only highschool we have here is dobyns bennett, which holds around 2k+ students and each classroom can hold up to around 30 students, so if you're struggling academically you're pretty much on your own. Of course the teachers will do whatever they can, but their hands are constantly full. Not to mention the homeless problem we have, which the city hasn't done anything to solve that problem. Also, the Pal's downtown isn't the only walk in one because there is one in the Lynn Garden area. The list could honestly go on and on. Another major thing is housing... it's ridiculous.
"but Kingsport is the worst in everything" Absolutely untrue! You don't know how lucky you are. Try living in Texas or Florida for a while and you will come racing back to Kingsport.
