  • Gothic Desk Set - Writing Desk and Chair
    The Abandoned Boudoir Diorama takes center stage again this week, as we build this charming desk and chair.
    After experimenting with a new (to me) finishing technique, I'm pleased to report that it resulted in a richly nuanced surface that pleases my eye and my sense of touch.

    I just love love love your work. The only bad thing is UA-cam algorithms that probably doesn't count your work as "family-friendly". It was more a coincidence than a recommended feed by UA-cam (even though I follow a lot of miniature UA-cam creators) that I found your channel.

    Thankful I found your channel. These videos are incredible and the time you’ve taken to create these masterpieces is appreciated. I absolutely love your work. Sadly, I use Silhouette, will your files work with it? And, do you have any videos on how you create/design process for your work? Do you design then in Cricut or do you use another program. I have so many ideas for my dollhouse now that I’ve found your techniques, but have no idea how to get them from my head to paper to machine. Thanks again for all your time, your talent is awesome!

    • @Thicketworks
      @Thicketworks  4 роки тому

      Hi Cindy! Firstly, thank you for your kind words, my friend.
      If you have the Designer Edition of Silhouette Studio, you can use the .svg files (although it may be necessary to resize them). Otherwise, you can use the .jpeg or .png files included with each bundle. As long as your machine can cut 'cereal box weight' chipboard and cardstock, you should be all set.
      Designing is a WHOLE other topic. I use a variety of software applications, depending on the project. Learning to think in terms of translating FLAT 2D shapes into 3D pieces is the most difficult aspect for me. We discuss the design process (and explore some tools to make it happen) in the Thicketworks Studio Membership.

      Firstly: thank you for your kindness, AndreaJane.
      When I turned down this path I knew it would be a disappointment and frustration to some truly wonderful people who have invested time and attention over the years. If there were a way that I could answer the calling of my own heart without causing disappointment for others, I would take it.
      The truth is this: I am in a kind of creative heaven with the use of the Maker. That's not something that I will be turning away from. It pains me to let you down in any way at all, but I don't want to mislead you. This is the path that I am on, and I will follow it until I've wrung every drop of inner delight from the experience...
      May YOU find your own creative convictions to be as sustaining and nurturing to your inner self as I do. It's been a long road - but I'm finally home, and I'm putting down ROOTS.
      Much love. 💗🌹💗
