    My husband and I use to go to an auction every Friday. In one of those auctions I seen a Thomas wooden train set for my grandson. He told me to bid on it. When it came time to bid it started at $5. I bid but someone kept bidding also. It was at $45 and I wanted it really bad so I went to $50. I finally won it. I found my husband and he told me he almost won the Thomas train set but was out bid. OMG! He was bidding against me.

      I would love to have Dave sit down and talk about his ADHD, and the strategies to manage it… AND how Hans and the rest of the crew manage him. AND hearing from his family would be interesting too. Dude is a whirlwind but evidently he has found ways to get things done. Hoarding seems like it’s probably relativity common among people with ADHD? Executive function FTW.

    I went through this phase many moons ago with storage units so I know all too well how addicting this can be! You guys however, bring it to a whole new level! Your videos are like a pallet auction, you never know what you're gonna' get until you open it up! And just like the auction you're now hooked and have to move on to the next video to see what's inside that one. Then, at 3am, you manage to crawl back out of the rabbit hole and get some sleep only to wake up and do it all over again! You guys are the best, keep up the awesome work!

    Back in the late 80's I used to do military auctions, and I would make some side money. But they changed the system and now it's not really that good of a deal. There's still something's that are worth it if you can go and get them. One of the biggest money maker's was buying the tires that came off of military aircraft, they were sold by weight and used to be cheap, and the best market was farmers in the cotton areas that would use them for their vehicles because they weren't street legal but they would last a long time. But all good things come to a end and now with the current situation of the online bidding it's not the same anymore. This was a great video and if you have the money to get started you can actually make money. I myself can't do it anymore because I am disabled and they don't give that much for disability and with the way prices keep going up, makes it tough to just get through the month. Good luck with your show and I enjoyed seeing you guys have a great time with an awesome auction.

    People need to understand that even this is set up to make a few people a lot of money, because before they ever open the doors for the public, they go through every single box and they estimate the cost times 10 percent, why ? Because regardless of what they sell or don't sell they are going to make at least 10 on each item sold or not, your not seeing the room full of price finders who are online pricing everything first before the auction begins

      kind like the storage business ran one for the wife's family...LOL We always looked in units. Sometimes it's just not worth auctioning. Other thing was finding free stuff like a boat with a hole in it and shove it into a storage unit and auction it off...LOL People see a boat and they think big $$$$ what they don't know is that it has a hole in it. The guy eluded to just that back when they were less busy you could take stuff and combine the shit and put it back in the auction. The sad part is the story of a storage customer with 15 units, we had a guy that would buy storage units from us and just toss a lock on and keep it and he was up to like 2o. His monthly bill was like $5,000 and he couldn't typically pay so we bug him and he come down after 3 months and drop $10,000 in cash on us but still owed money. I recall he passed away and his family had to deal with all the units. He never went into a unit he bought, simply put a lock on and pay monthly. He was a hoarder...it was sad.

      @antibodyarmy 2 роки тому +1

      the vast majority of the packages lost in the mail that would end up at auctions like this are a result of invalid addresses for both recipient and return addresses, the rest get lost in limbo at shipping stations, either falling off internal *insert mail carrier here* sorting belts. there is 330 million people in the USA a massive amount of those people buy stuff online if each of those poeple bought just one thing and we expect a minimal of 1% lost packages due to damaged lables/bad addresses or lost internal sorted packages that would be 3,300,000 orders that need somewhere to go. mind you when those packages are found they are typically sent back to amazon or whatever major retailer then amazon(or whoever) doesnt want to pay the man hours to sort the packages to get back on shelfs sends them to a auction house to be sold. amazons return policies for things shipped and sold by amazon dont get internally sorted they go straight to auction houses, this is why so many of these pallet auctions you will find FILLED to the brim with amazon boxes, the things that are "refurbished by amazon" on amazon are the things that were easy to sort/clean to get back on a shelf.
      There is nothing nefarious here, just a auction company doing what they do providing warehousing space and a means to sell things that other companies aren't willing to sell themselves. if you are so upset by this cut out the middle man, get your own warehousing space and buy directly from USPS, UPS, FEDEX, DHL, AMAZON sort and sell it yourself with meticulous lables that are made with ID verified customers and have damage proof plastic shipping labels on them. even then a small percentage whether it be 1% or 10% of those packages will be lost in the shipping shuffle, or stolen off someone's porch.

    The auction guys absolutely go through and pick out the really good stuff. To be fair I would do the exact same thing so I don't blame them one bit. I'm just saying chances are you're not going to be finding any $5,000 item sitting at the bottom of the pallet or a gold coin collection or anything like that.

      No, they don't. if these guys took the cream that would be theft as this stuff is sold on consignment and they would end up behind bars.

    It’s sad thinking of the amount of items someone actually really needed and never received, especially stuff for their vehicle. And packages that still have the address on them even..
