I was disturbing the entire neigh🐴borhood by blasting this very country music song by Joe Diffie. I hopped online and coincidentally the news pops up that country singer, Joe Diffie, just passed away from Coronavirus complications at age 61.
Joe Diffie charted 35 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart between 1990 and 2004, five of which peaked at number one.
I'm blasting all of Diffie's hit classic country singles right now in his merit. This will be a day to remember. 😥

I had the pleasure of getting to meet this legendary singer and hang out with him at our local festival I worked the stage he was playing on and he put on a hell of a show.

i lost my wife of 34 years this past sept. and this song gets me bawling every time i play it. except for spreading her pictures out this is my near nightly ritual. i lived the early part of my thinking love was something other guys felt until i met her and literally stopped to smell the roses. now i can't imagine anything resembling a life without her.

Nice to meet you, Moriah. I see that Joe was born in Tulsa and grew up in Velma, Oklahoma. Are you in Oklahoma also? Who is older/younger? I thought this particular song was from late 1998, but I was mixed up with another song. Actually, "A Night To Remember" came out a bit later, in the spring of 1999. This is one of my very favorites from Joe. Most of my other favorites (of the ones I really know) were his earliest hits. I do have almost all his CDs though. I went through several years phase (2006-2012) where I was collecting CDs like crazy. Joe's were definitely included. The sad part is that I never hardly play any of my CDs. I must listen to all of Joe to get better acquainted to his library of work..beyond the hits and all.

    Lyrics:
    Been one tough week
    Dead on my feet
But I've made plans for tonight
    When I'm feeling blue
    Know just what to do
And how to make it right
Seems like I did this forever
Gonna have myself a night to remember
    Dim the lights
    Lock the door
Spread your pictures on the floor
Blow the dust off of our past
Let it all come flooding back
Cause it ain't easy being strong
And when I can't forget your gone
    I just surrender
And have myself a night to remember
    Sad ain't my style
    But once awhile
I just have to give in
    Cause a women like you
    Is so hard to lose
You just don't want it to end
I know this can't go on forever
So tonight Ill have a night to remember
    Dim the lights
    Lock the door
    Spread your…
