My goodness why doesn't country music still sound like this? I can't be the only one who misses true country music. Godspeed Joe you're truly and deeply missed
Amen! Yes he is. One of the best ever to do it. I miss this kinda country music so much. On the weekends it’s all I listen to and reminisce to. This song will always hold a special place in my heart to me! I hope you’re up there in Heaven singing with Jesus brother!
"It ain't easy being strong, and when I can't forget you're gone...." Wow. Kinda prophetic. I can't believe that damn virus has taken another great voice from us. Rest in peace Joe Diffie. You were definitely one of the great ones

So sad to hear about Joe Diffie passing away from this terrible virus that has hit our nation and the world. May God comfort his family in this terrible time... This was my all time favorite song of his... RIP MR. DIFFIE
Same! Currently sobbing like a baby listening to all his songs, this and Ships That Don't Come In probably my top favorites. I grew up in the 90s and will always remain my personal favorite era of country music. Heaven gained a true angel, RIP Joe Diffie.
Had to hunt for this song. I played this over & over back in the day. I' m going to do the same now. So sad to hear about Joe today. Great talent, old school style. RIP Joe
Dim the lights, lock the door... spread your pictures on the floor... blow the dust off of our past.... Wow, the memories this song stirs up... Thank you Joe Diffie for all the great songs and lyrics that will live on forever. This is a heartbreaking loss. May god bring peace to those who grieve your passing.
I was disturbing the entire neigh🐴borhood by blasting this very country music song by Joe Diffie. I hopped online and coincidentally the news pops up that country singer, Joe Diffie, just passed away from Coronavirus complications at age 61. Joe Diffie charted 35 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart between 1990 and 2004, five of which peaked at number one. I'm blasting all of Diffie's hit classic country singles right now in his merit. This will be a day to remember. 😥 R.I.P., Joe.
This song was a Carrie over from another song that was actually written as a story he allowed his emotions to be told in a slow electric almost in a fraudulent manner in hopes of a sympathetic women would give him another chance give me you're thoughts k
where has music like this gone? I remember when this song came on the radio when my grandpa took me fishing and he'd hum it while I sung it. Music relates to ppl through memories and this song has a place in my heart till god calls me home
Nice to meet you, Moriah. I see that Joe was born in Tulsa and grew up in Velma, Oklahoma. Are you in Oklahoma also? Who is older/younger? I thought this particular song was from late 1998, but I was mixed up with another song. Actually, "A Night To Remember" came out a bit later, in the spring of 1999. This is one of my very favorites from Joe. Most of my other favorites (of the ones I really know) were his earliest hits. I do have almost all his CDs though. I went through several years phase (2006-2012) where I was collecting CDs like crazy. Joe's were definitely included. The sad part is that I never hardly play any of my CDs. I must listen to all of Joe to get better acquainted to his library of work..beyond the hits and all.
Yes I have dreams about my x-husband and sometimes the dreams seem so real and even after he left me while I was pregnant with his son I can’t understand how I could have felt this way after so many years and he’s deceased now he passed away in 2012 but I was always the type of person that when I loved someone I just couldn’t let them go and I know that my family would think that I was crazy but he was my best friend and true love even though he cheated on me and then left me so was I stupid or just crazy lonely
Anyone that has lost the love of their life for whatever reason(whether for the best or not) can relate to these powerful emotional lyrics…a great great song done masterfully…RIP Joe Diffie…thank you…

80’s, 90’s, and very early 2000’s were the best times for country music.
