For those who can't see the remove supervision option, make sure you have received the email from Google which transfers your child's account to become a "non-child account". This happens when your child turns the legal age of your country to have a self managed google account.

@@scienceforfun9801 are you signed in as the family manager? Make sure the account member is older then the age requirement for your country to have a managed account.

I'm having the same issue as well. I am doing this process just to get everyone yt music under my husband account and he has to be the family Manger in order to share subscription with family. This process is extreme 😢

My daughter broke her phone (the screen was black & could still ring, but you couldn't answer it or dismiss alarms or anything), so we got a replacement. Now the old broken phone AND the new phone are on family link under the same account. Any tips on how to remove the old device without deleting my daughter's whole family link account?

Same problem as everyone else. I cannot get the "Remove" option. Over 13 (17) and the personal details state that. I got an email when they turned 13, but it didn't say anything except that they will soon be able to manage their account. They are still in my Family Management.
I managed to solve this by getting onto the child's device and going into the Family Link App and doing a Remove from there.

@@iliazzzz4358hey I tried figure out a way to not use my little brothers phone to take off the account but it seems that the current only was is to go into the parental control app and go to supervisions and use the parents email and password to get out of family link.

I thought this was the info I needed, but my problem is different. My child got a new phone which was added to family link under the same account. So currently she has two devices. Now I want to remove (only) the old phone from family link, but I have no idea how this works. Maybe you know the answer.

@@LetMeFixIT thanks I watched that too, I think the whole solution is 1) log into the account and sign out the device as described in your video. 2) on the old device remove the google account (otherwise family link will not let you do a factory reset) - you should not go to family link on the old device and "remove this account from this device ..." 3) do a factory reset (if required).
Does this delete the account or leave it? I don't want to delete the account, just remove the famly link from it
If you remove supervision, it removes the permissions.
However, if you delete it, it deletes the account.

Is it a new Google home? If so, U will need to go into Google home app and click on the device and say remove device. If you can't because it's someone else's, you need to ask them to remove the device and set it up again. If it's someone's that you don't know...that's a different story.
Open the Google Home app .
Switch to the home you want to edit.
Tap Settings Household.
Next to your account name, tap or .
Tap Remove Remove yourself

I live in hostel and there are lot of devices connected to open wifi so when I connected to that wifi and opened UA-cam, the cast option appear immediately and I accidentally press yes on it. So is there any way that I know that my UA-cam account is connected to other device or not?

If that's the case, it's very possible your account is not ready to be removed (as in you are still the owner of the child account) - if that's the case and you believe your child account has past the appropriate age, then email google support to have them check it for you.

Look under account supervision, you might find it there. Google tends to move things around a bit.

Are you the family organiser? If not you will need to sign into it with that account first before you can see it.

Yes, family link doesn't delete your account if you are over 13 (google account bday date specific). It just removes it from supervision. You have to sign in as the family supervisor to remove other members.

Hey Ally, as an adult, if you really must remove the supervision; you can hard factory reset the phone. Usually, there is a command for the certain type of phone you have that bypasses the operating system before it boots. For example, on some android phones, you can press and hold certain keys while turning the power on.
After factory resetting the phone, you can use a new Gmail account.
However, please note that some phones have FRP (factory reset protection) in case a thief tries to steal your phone to do this exact method.
In this case, I would suggest contacting google support for account recovery. They will ask you for your personal identification and once you have sent them that, they will release your account and transfer the supervision.
Having said this, you would've received an email that gave you a choice to claim the account when you turned the appropriate age for your account. If you can find that, you may be able to refer to it.

I am on an iphone trying to remove my son from it. He is 16 and it still says he is a supervised member and won’t give me the option to remove him, only to delete his account. What do i do? PLEASE HELP!!
@@TheThirdTopG your son would've received an email from google to his account if he had reached the age limit. If you don't get one just email support for the change over request email
