    You guys seem like a great company. The officers take pride in their work, which often reflects on management.
    This seems like a very well put together and professional company
    To bad you guys aren’t in Texas, we could sure use a company like this down here. Too many shady companies with horrendous business practices here.
    If I lived near, I’d put an application in. I’ve been working armed security and bodyguard services for a few years now. It’s a very good industry when it’s managed by great companies
    You guys advertise your product which shows a level of pride to me, overall I’d say you guys are one of a kind

    At 10:07.... I don't know the regulations in CO, but in CA a person needs to have a valid BSIS-card and an additional baton-permit to be allowed to hold a baton. It's considered a deadlly weapon in CA. So it's pretty much the equivalent to telling someone "Hold my gun while I'm breaking into that car..." ;)

      Dude was taking huge liability risks by even messing with that car. 1.) Do you know its their car? 2.) You're using a bent coat hanger to try unlocking it - easy to cause damage to the door, controls, or scratch up the paint - the "you touched it last" game is going to bite him in the butt.
      I used to unlock vehicles professionally. We'd ID the person and then inspect the registration and ensure it was the person's vehicle - if it turned out to not be legit, we had their ID to give to the police along with the dispatch call logs, and usually a AAA membership to go along with it. We also carried the right insurance and tools for the job. Accidents still happen. People are quick to blame someone else for damaging their car.
      The baton jammed in the door is a great way to spring the door frame - which will require either a new door, or a trip to a body shop to get right again. There's a right way to wedge a door to unlock without damage, and it requires the right tools. That scenario had none of that. If he'd wanted to be helpful - calling a locksmith or calling AAA for them (if they were members) would've been far better - and put his employer at far less risk.
      Over all - I saw some glaring issues in this one - stepping in front of the vehicle with the alarm going off 2X, the whole unlocking the car thing, giving his baton to a stranger just to name a few. This fellow needs some retraining, maybe more guidance and time with a training officer / manager riding with him.

    However, 4:30 is part of the reason I had to leave the private sector and go to Police. There's only so much you can do in this situation as a Security Officer. People will always have a sense of disrespect/disregard for Security.

      Yes, it is definitely frustrating. Officer Poutre did a great job, though, of staying calm and not overreacting. Too many officers (security and police alike) would have taken that as a challenge and became aggressive, but kudos to Officer Poutre for realizing that it wasn't worth getting upset over.

    Is suspicious a crime ?

    • @Denver-metro-protective
      @Denver-metro-protective  3 роки тому +2

      Suspicious activity is any observed behavior that could indicate a person may be involved in a crime or about to commit a crime. It leads to a reaction of either investigating further to determine if a crime has been or is about to be committed and reacting accordingly (contacting appropriate authorities, for example), determining that no crime or potential for a crime has occurred, or doing nothing at all. "If you see something, say something". Had a crime occurred, he would have taken additional actions as a result (as mentioned above...contacting law enforcement). It was determined to the best of his knowledge that either no crime had occurred, or there was not enough belief that one had or was about to. Absolutely crucial part of not only anyone in security or law enforcement, but it should be in the back of anyone's mind when looking at a situation. Remember that nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance or conscientious stupidity.

  • @DarkSideMaceWindu

    Yeah, stepping front of a moving vehicle while trying to overstep your authority and command them to roll down their window isn't that bright. Way too much of a " wannabe cop" attitude.

    • @Denver-metro-protective
      @Denver-metro-protective  4 роки тому +5

      It was a suspicious situation and there was no "wanna be" attitude. If you didn't notice, the Specialist calmly walked away afterwards and stated that there was nothing that could be done. A "wanna be" would have then either chased after them or immediately called the police - neither of which were called for. SMH, some people have to complain and armchair quarterback no matter what... haters gonna hate.

      @@e4mafia_tn You're so wrong in so many ways on this and your other comments here. Ignorance is not an adequate reason for comments. A person saying that the security industry has NO responsibility other than observe and report is absolutely absurd and incorrect. When performing courtroom screening services, do we only "observe and report" as people walk in? How about at the airports? While performing inmate transport services, shall we just "observe and report" or perhaps would it be appropriate to actually escort the inmate? Security performs an invaluable service worldwide and the claim that we, as an industry, must do nothing but "observe and report" is as ignorant as anyone claiming that by doing anything other than this must therefore be a "wannabe". Being "butthurt"? No, how about attempting to demonstrate the value of the private-public partnership that absolutely exists in the law enforcement/security realm. "Playing cop"???? His first inclination was to move in front a moving vehicle on a public street... not once but then again? Very poor judgement.

    • @Denver-metro-protective
      @Denver-metro-protective  4 роки тому +9

      We take every opportunity to train and improve rather than fire. Your first inclination should not be "oh, he made a wrong move... let's fire him!". If that were the case, you would either have no employees for having to fire them all, or they likely wouldn't work for you. Obviously, we take very important the safety of each employee and even when a mistake is made, we look at that as a way to become better so that those mistakes are not made again.

      Denver Metro Protective Services Believe you me, I believe in second chances and re-training, but some actions show such a lack of judgement and are so egregious that it is best to move on from that employee.
      He put himself in what could have been a deadly force scenario off property. There is no excuse. He stopped the driver from freely driving away without the authority to do so.
      He is a serious liability. Perhaps firing would not be necessary if there was an unarmed, static post with close supervision he could be placed at.

    • @Denver-metro-protective
      @Denver-metro-protective  4 роки тому +2

      @@bigglovebobfizzox2971 Well most security we have seen would immediately call police and / or run after the vehicle. His judgement, while inappropriate at first by putting himself in front of the vehicle, quickly came to his head and he not only moved out of the way, but knew that as no crime had been witnessed, he took no further action. He did not stop the driver from freely driving away. Ultimately, this is what was important. We looked at the entirety of it and most in public safety or law enforcement get the "contempt of cop" attitude of "how dare they not stop... now I'm going to do (fill in the blank with a poor judgement move)". He had the sense enough to know to not take it further, move out of the way and go home safe.
