@@kaysha yes, Screen share of Keynote in Ecamm…. live video feature in Keynote then ‘Magic move’ Keynote slide transition to allow animation of video position on screen 😊
Q: How are you getting multiple HDMI signals into your laptop? I have an ATEM Mini Pro ISO but at the moment I can only use one of those cameras at a time vs. them showing up as their own feed. I was hoping to use the 2nd camera as an overhead cam, but right now I've only figured out how to use my main camera or the overhead vs. having them both show up. Thanks!
Hi Andrew, I am using Elgato Camlink 4K Capture cards to bring each individual camera into my computer and then Ecamm itself is the camera switcher. If you use an external hardware switcher like the Atem, then as you have found, you only ever have the output of the ATEM available to your computer /Ecamm. This means that you do lose a lot of the versatility and functionality of Ecamm - i.e. positioning specific cameras in specific places and easily placing multiple cameras on screen at the same time. Combining Ecamm with Stream Deck (for the push button scene switching) in my view gives a better overall workload than using Atem, especially when you factor in the ability to quickly create graphically rich scenes in Ecamm, which is otherwise slightly laborious in Atem. Hope that helps! 🙂
@@alec.johnson 100% you nailed it here and am sold on the ECamm / Stream Deck combo - I didn’t realize that the ATEM hardware and ECamm software were essentially parallel uses; I was seeing the ATEM essentially as a converter to get the cameras into the system. How are you handling connecting multiple CamLinks? I have a Mac laptop and a CalDigit box but w a monitor (hdmi), power (usb-c), HD webcam (usb), stream deck (usb) and my rodecaster (usb) inputs have been hard to come by. Thank you for the input here!!! 🙏
This was such a great session. One thing about the ATEM. I loved it and had both eCamm and ATEM and sold my ATEM. Tell people the limitation is that ATEM outputs 1080p whereas eCamm can output in 4K.
Thanks Steve, glad you liked it! Oh and that’s a great point about the 1080 limit on ATEM too… I forgot about that! It’s the ease of use that was a deal breaker for me when I considered getting one. So glad I discovered Ecamm because it makes it so much easier to get creative when it comes to designing shows IMO.
How in the world do you do the transition at 48:25? Where the camera is centered, but then seamlessly slides over to the left while a graphic comes in on the right? I have been trying to figure out how to do that very thing without switching to another scene with a big weird transition! (Things flying in and out of the screen!) Thanks!
I did it by screen sharing Keynote and then in Keynote I’m using the live video feature that allows me to apply Keynote animations to the cameras… I’m also using magic move between slides in Keynote to automate those transitions. I’ll be demonstrating exactly how in the day 2 session on Screen sharing 😊
Start with a Thunderbolt hub first, then connect your USB Dock or hubs. The TB hubs have better data management. amzn.to/3THJF3q Thunderbolt can support up to 128 devices -Doc
These transitions are great. We need a tut for that
Thanks Kaysha, I’ll be showing how I made the transitions in on Day 2 session! 😊
@@alec.johnson Lovely. I presume it with keynote

Great video Alec
Thanks for watching!
Amazing workshops thank you Ecamm team. Vary kind of you.
Thank you 🙏 😊
Great content. Just wonder how you created your transition from small video to full size and the way back? VIdeo transition?
I’ll be showing how I did that in Day 2 session! (Spoiler: screenshare Keynote live video and ‘magic move’ 😉)

Such great takeaways from this training Alex. I didn’t know the majority of this, and you explained things very clearly. Thank you

How do you connect all your usb items my hub only has 4 usb slots my cameras take 2 then 1 for stream deck controller and then last is for audio
