INGREDIENTS:
450g / 1 lb ground beef
1 large onion
1 garlic clove
440g / 2 cups marinara sauce
475 ml / 2 cups beef broth or water
1 green bell pepper
411g / 14.5 ounces canned diced tomatoes
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 bay leaf
220 g / 8 oz noodles (uncooked)
Parmesan (optional)
Parsley (optional)

Oh, this is a very tasty dish! I was a single father for 8 years and I would cook a similar version that the kids loved. I didn't ever try it with Marinara sauce. But I used tomatoes and tomato juice to loosen it up. Later, I made it and added green chilies, black beans, or chilie beans, and seasoned with chilie powder, cumin, oregano, and chopped garlic or granulated They loved it as well. 😊😊

My sweet friend Sophie, this goulash is a favorite of mine!! It is a great go to when you are in a hurry and when you want to clean out your fridge. I have substituted little green peas instead of the green pepper and added frozen corn if I have just a piece of a bag I need to use. Sophie, this dish reminds me of the times as a child we didn't have much..... but our cousin would buy us a 5 pound thing of beef and we'd use canned tomatoes and macaroni..... it was called "poor man's meal" back then....

Just Lovely Ms. Sophie, back in the day we would call something like this American Goulash, with the addition of various kinds of Wild Game and forage it becomes Kentucky Burgoo. This kept us kids feed Strong for 'Wrestlin' Gators" (*) & other really fun stuff, And after a short digest and cleanup it's all outside under the Sugar Tree for Splittin' the Water Mellon, fresh out of the patch and stored under ice, Good days. Gators are special creatures, they're our southern pride, we need to protect them, problem is Gators have a bad habit of getting into places they're not supposed to be, Wrestling the Gator down is the best way to remove without damage, that however is sometimes easier said than done.
