I made this video in 2 hours right now and I'm sure it will do better than the passion projects I spent weeks on.

Thank you. Please keep making legit and factual lost anime related media videos. They are lacking here.
True stuff like this has gotten losted as anime grows into being mainstream
Almost spat out my drink at the Little Nicky anime.
This cruddy flash anime, based on Adam Sandler’s Little Nicky, almost looks stylistically like Shotaro Ishinomori’s little known early story, Don Kiko.
That said, Don Kiko is itself a weird then-contemporary reimagining of Señor Miguel De Cervantes’ wonderful masterpiece, Don Quixote.
SENPAI... GET IN THE FLASK!
Looks like an old Newgrounds cartoon.

I tried to ask about the Space Punch anime at one of Hurricane Ryu's virtual panels recently, but alas the question didn't get picked by the moderator (I think maybe they were trying to keep the focus on his suit acting rather than his manga career). Fingers crossed for another time, though.
it wouldn't feel right if no mentions were made to Naruto headbands!
Cudos for the masterful understated humor! You've found such a great way to weave personality into informative video making. I've got to admit the Nicky one cought me pretty of guard.
List:
#1 0:25 - Space Punch
#2 1:52 - Warrior of Love, Rainbowman!
#3 2:53 - Bancho Wakusei
#4 4:13 - Henachoko Akuma Nicky noNY Taikenki
#5 5:04 - Maze
#6 5:38 - Shaq's Big Challenge (?!)
The shots fired at Shaq and then the super half assed sponsorship plug are my favorite. Shaq is also a cop, and ACAB.
What's Acab? But anyway, I remember Leno (or some other late night guy from that era) making fun of the suggestion that Shaq would make for an ideal undercover agent 😂
Just recently I learned about UchuuKen after watching Fight! Iczer-1, then you made this video. I read somewhere they decided to route their resources to the production for Fight! Iczer-1 after the project for Uchuuken fell apart.
I tweeted about it last week. I’m working on a video about Iczer 1 atm
I have another example:
ASTRO BOY Tetsuwan Atomu - 10-man Kōnen no Raihōsha, Iguza (Astro Boy: Mighty Atom - Visitor of 100,000 Light Years, IGZA), was 2005 Japanese 2005 anime film based on the 2003 Astro Boy TV series and directed by Yoshio Takeuchi. It was released on September 1, 2005, and was Japan's first full-length animated large-scale IMAX film.
From what I understand, the film has yet to receive a home media release.
Well, it did have an official online presence in the Japanese Tezuka Productions Channel now. It seems unavailable in most countries.
@@SlapstickGenius23 Darn, missed that
Is one of said passion projects a deep dive into Shaq's Big Challenge?
cool to see somebody talking about that adam sandler anime
Space Punch has a lot of potential
thanks for sharing these
I kind of wish Space Punch actually got off the ground and came to fruition in some form. With the prevalence of the OVA market at the time, I think the production could've easily shifted over to an OVA production similarly to how MegaZone 23 was produced. It's baffling as to why the project just didn't continue in any form after the TV series version fell through.
I only discovered space punch while researching my upcoming video on Fight Iczer-1 and the reason it didn't shift to an OVA is because Hirano shifted his interest to another Lemon People manga...Fight Iczer-1.
@@MercuryFalcon Well, that explains that I guess. I can't even necessarily blame Hirano there, considering that Iczer-1 is a fascinating series in itself, and it probably fit better with what audiences were looking for at the time from an OVA project -- something mature and provocative that you couldn't do on television.
Thanks for responding!
I think it also may have been complicated since the series used some many pop culture reference (the manga clip I show has her fighting Andre the Giant if you didn't notice) and even Darth Vader shows up so that could also be why Iczer-1 was chosen in the end.
I'm surprised to hear Maze had a movie... and it was lost? I thought it was more popular than that.
I mean if it can happen to JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, it can happen to anyone
I saw the Anime Abandon episode on it and could have sworn there were more copies of the movie.
Who wrote it?
That last one, lmao. Wasn't even anime, but I'm not upset
LOL
Oh… a legit one this time! AWESOME!!!
Commenting before watch, i hope it's on par with the previous video. I'm still looking out for that fated Shaq's big challenge episode. I know it's here somewhere.
Thank you for posting this one !
Oh shit, I didn't know 009-1 was going to have a second season, that's nuts. I surprisingly enjoyed that anime, despite initially going into it thinking it would be just lewdness or whatnot.
yeah, there are characters in the opening that aren't in the show. The booklet that came with the DVD has all their names and powers.
@@MercuryFalcon Holy shit, they ARE at the very end of the OP, never noticed them. Wow, wonder how they would have played into that season.
Yeah i did as well.
That sure is weird.
I mean, I guess if you want an anime to be miraculously found, just let Discotek license it, and bits and pieces will come out of the woodworks I guess?
Thx for mentioning MAZE. Sadly the Laser disc version is also lost. I searched ages for the LD version without success
Did not expect that Shaq rip at the end lol
Yeah what was that about lol?
everything is gangsta until the Shaq Appears
You may have made this in two hours, but I bet the entirety of the lost media wiki was written faster.
Is the Lost Media Wiki really that bad, or is it just the anime side of things? I want to learn more about lost media but I also don't want to spread misinformation.
@@nicky2stars Yeah it's pretty bad, I haven't looked around it too much but I'd take everything they have there with a ladle of salt.
I'm not sure what your talking about, but the LMW has thousands of articles made by a large community of people. Not exactly the kind of feat that could be accomplished in a few hours.
Insults LWM
Doesn't elaborate

If you have intention to make a follow up, I suggest you to talk about the Chii-tan anime, it was supposed to air in spring 2019, but because of controversies surrounding the character it never aired
Seen the Maze series twice. Had no idea there was going to be a movie.
Almost thought it was a late April Fool's joke when you mentioned Little Nicky and Shaq.
Interesting to find out that this anime version of Rainbowman is consider lost media. I tried to find more about the character and the show but found nothing. So I know understand why my research fell short for this show. Beside that episode and some screenshots, the only thing that could prove its existing in animated form is that cameo in episode 5 of 1983 Captain Tsubasa.
There are posters for Rainbow Man the Animation. As its title suggests, it’s an anime adaptation of a famed tv show from the 1970s.
Dude what the hell was that ending lmfao
Yuuyake banchou is another lost anime that me and my friends are trying to look for
Yeah !
Here are the status’ of the media in this list currently:
1. Space Punch: Partially Lost
2. Warrior of Love! Rainbow Man: Partially found
3. Bancho Wakusei: Completely lost
4: Henachoko Akuma Nicky No NY Taikenki: Partially lost
5: Maze(Film): Completely lost
6: Shaq’s Big Challenge episode 2: Completely lost

"A poor representation of Sandler's beloved film"
Bro I love your channel, but that statement is real F$#@!NG generous to say the least.
wow, i live in florida and in the county you mentioned and NEVER even heard of that last show! that wouldve been so cool to see that girl wear the naruto headband since i was a fan ever since naruto began. The comment about shaq was a little harsh tho..but cant say anything since i dont know much about the guy😅🤷🏾♀️
Probably just a joke
The fact that bancho wakusei and many other ishinomori projects have canceled pains me as kamen rider fan.
That Maze movie, i have a faint feeling i might downloaded the movie in some early file format with bad quality...perhaps in late 2000´s early 10´s, probably from TokyoToshokan...
nice video, and thank you for telling me that the early Harmony Gold's Macross dub is actually not a lost media
Where can I find it? I've seen the 2006 dub. I'm curious about the original English dubs
I wasn't going to comment, but after I watched this video I somehow remembered the Shaq weight loss challenge series episode you were talking about. The girl's room was absolutely littered with the most basic early 00's anime stuff. Inuyasha stuff mostly. If you can guess what a tweenage girl watched in 2003, it was there. Can't tell you why I remembered that, can't even tell you why I accidentally caught that show and that episode. Maybe it's because I had a sister about that age when it aired and she had mostly the exact same stuff. Also, as far as that Little Nicky anime is concerned, if you showed me a screenshot of that, not only would I not be able to tell that was an anime, you could say it was from the bottom of the barrel from early 00's Newgrounds and done by a 12 year old, I'd totally believe it. UGH!
3 episodes of RainbowMan are on the internet archive now.
god I fucking love this channel
A little Nicky anime..huh😅also good video by the way👍✨
Has anyone uploaded the Space Punch OST?
Yeah, its on youtube and MartyMcFlies owns a physical version
That Shaq attack at the end 🤣
4:14 I didn't know that Little Nicky anime existed
You should do a video on Ogon Bat. Probably the most obscure anime out there.
Pretty sure I've covered more obscure stuff. Golden Bat is at least known in tokusatsu circles due to the movie starring Sonny Chiba so I wouldn't consider the anime the most obscure thing out there. MAL actually says more people have added it to their list than most entries in the Glass Mask franchise.
Didn't know Adam Sandler inspired Go Nagai to add Nicky to the Bosses gang
Nope, Little Nicky is himself partly inspired by the other way around, Koji Kabuto, his ex bully turned friend Boss, and their other friends Mucha and Nuke, all from Mazinger Z.
Is there any way to read the Maze the light novel? Who wrote it even?
anyone know the anime he shows a clip of at the very beginning at the 0:03 mark, thanks
Shaq's Big Challenge is Saki Sanobashi confirmed.
Gaogaigar vs betterman was going to be an anime but it's now a light novel
Wow, good news. That’s damn hopeful.
What was the anime in the beginning with the school girl fighting robots? I think I've seen it before
project a-ko
Project Ako
I’ve seen it... I still don’t know what I watched. More like Project WTF-ko.
If you make another video about this topic, could you mention the 1973 Doraemon anime?
No
@@MercuryFalcon I don't want to come off as annoying or anything but is there a reason why?
@@NIntender684 it’s been covered already
@@MercuryFalcon Ok, thanks for answering!
@@MercuryFalcon Thank you. I don’t think something that is popular and has copyright holders that are alive and well should count as lost media. It’s not lost, just held and stored somewhere to protect interests (in this case, the rep of a beloved character, I’ve heard it’s terrible). Some people just want free tickets for the movie.
What are the anime that appear at the beginning called?
A Banchu Wakusei anime adaptation would've been great
When I saw it I don't know why the Little★Nicky: Henachoko Akuma Nicky no NY Taikenki was based off a movie
Oh yes Shaq my favorite anime character.
Oh yea, Shaq's Big Chalenge, a classic annime
Shaq ia also a major franchise operator for Krispy Kreme doughnuts, may even own part of the company at this point. Despite his weight, his doughnut and pizza franchise holdings are known to be good restaurant operators. Papa Johns corporate would have probably folded like a New York slice if Shaq hadn't gotten deeply involved. Anyway, there is lots more lost media. The Playboy Club TV show is one. Cancelled after three episodes with four more unaired. The show was produced by 20th Century, now part of Disney, and NBC now part of Comcast, so THAT'S one show never leaving the vault again, not even on bootlegs.
What's with the hate on Shaq? That was out of nowhere.
Shaq Fu
What we need to find is Ryan Seacrest's lost appearance as a contestant on the Dating Game(?)
Shaq's big challenge is my favorite anime.
Not sure if I’d say it’s my favorite but it’s in my 3x3 for sure
Good forth walk making
Imagine you work a anime just for it to get cancelled
It is the cynical actuality of any industry, period.
0:01 what anime is this?
The 90s Ghost Stories Ova
We've been Shaq attacked
0:01 This ova anime film is real, but it’s not called Saki Sanobashi.
Jk I know. It’s the ghost stories ova, I had used the clip in my ghost stories video and everyone has been bamboozled.
@@MercuryFalcon ahh, it’s the ova made before the much better known 1990s tv incarnation!
Wish Space Punch got that anime. I like the girl's design (thighs)
Big words about Shaq, where's the words for Sandler?.
One day all anime lost media will be found. 😀👍
Guyssss... I don't know whether all these actually exist or not. Lmoa.
4:26 0_o
I am stunned
Is that Little Nicky anime actually fucking real?
It definitely was! And it surely was made in the style of Shotaro Ishinomori’s early story, Don Kiko!
@@SlapstickGenius23 Which in turn was based on classic European cartoon styles. Not everything is anime, there’s also dessins animé.
Maze is lost media? I have it on VHS.
Original story was by Satoru Akahori Anime Production was J.C. Staff and Produced by Kadokawa Shoten, JVC, J.C. Staff
The movie, not the tv series, he even says so in the video, I don't know how you could have missed that.
Henachoko Akuma Nicky no NY Taikenki should be shortened to Nicky Taikenki (ニッキー体験記) or Henachoko Akuma Nicky (へなちょこ悪魔ニッキー).
Also Nicky Taikenki is more of a cartoon/toonime than an anime.
You son of a bitch, you brought back the bit at the end.
One thing is they are other 80's anime series is lost media is Konpora kid ! You talk about this anime !
Little Nicky... WTF!!!
I really can’t tell if you are serious with this one or not.
lol, I know I'm a bit late to the party, but great video. Shame that the parody going on here seems to have gone over most people's head though.
0:34 Andre?
The 6th one could be the 2007 Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Phantom Blood movie instead of this reality show.
Wonder what the creator of Space Punch is doing these days? I would love to see an anime of Space Punch today with big-budget animation if a western company were to greenlight the series? Strange.....
Please reply
The Space Punch anime look like material for Kenny Lauderdale
I’ll be covering it in my upcoming video on fight iczer 1
@@MercuryFalcon haven’t you been uploading new vids on your regular videos tab lately?
Hurricane Ryu... aka Heisei King Ghidorah!
Yeah he did a virtual panel recently and someone asked about space punch but they were only taking questions about his tokusatsu work
2:08 minutes in
was expecting to see Shack's Big Challenge
was surprised
EDIT:
YOU MOTHER.....I HATE YOU XD
I have episode 1 of rainbow man
You’ve got episode 1 of the Rainbow man anime by Knack, the makers of Sasuke and other kinds of classic anime crud. Wow that’s cool.
@@SlapstickGenius23 go to my channel you will see and hitogata
I Hope the awesome Knack studio remasters the Rainbowman show for the 4K BluRay Edition!
third times the charm
lost media like your ghost stories video?
It’s Saki sanobashi
@@MercuryFalcon but is the supposed anime Saki Sanobashi confirmed to be a fake?
@@SlapstickGenius23 they what!!!!
@@MercuryFalcon well, Saki Sanobashi is an Internet originated urban legend.
0:01 The anime that you’re showing at the very beginning is real, but it has a different name.
@@SlapstickGenius23 LOL. Man, you’re something special.
And yet, Genma Wars was allowed to be made. Wow
Genma Wars: Eve of Mythology is much more infamous than its source material, a rather pitifully weak spinoff of the original Genma Wars manga.
Do you notice that Genma Wars is a rather beloved franchise in its native Japan?
@@SlapstickGenius23 but beloved franchises get terrible anime (and video games, other media, etc) made for them all the time. It doesn't tarnish the original in any way. But I'd be hard pressed to find someone who thought the 2002 anime was competent in any way shape or form. There's tons of sub par Gundam stuff out there, but no one thinks any less of the good Gundam stuff for it.
@@Ash113Lynx they do. Someone who's never seen the original Gundam before but loved UC etc., said it's dated yada yada yada. I'm watching Wing now and I still prefer the Amuro serials. I refrain from watching ZZ until the English dubs are found
I don't understand why you have creepy music playing if none of this is horror-themed.
it's a joke. It's a parody of all the other "lost media" videos out there, particularly a parody on the video style and delivery of PhantonStrider's content.
You are funny as fawk
Shaq
Meanwhile sourcebrew is like "You forgot Cory in the House."
Hahaha, Cory in the House, despite being a live action Disney show, is indeed Anime inspired.
Coolest
Third time today
I grew up watching this series called Heidi in english dub (not the movie that aired on american Nickleodeon channel). All 52 dub episodes are now lost.
It probably exists in Cartoon Network's wearhouse in Philippines or India since those are the only two countries it aired. There are petitions online to release the cut but I dont think CN will.
That was rather quick. I wondered when those who look for free dubbed copyrighted shows that have been released one way or another would show up. These are true lost media, dubs are disposable byproducts. You just want a free and easy way to get stuff.
@@OM19_MO79 huh? cartoon network isnt a OTA free tv channel. You had to pay for cable. What you mean "free".
@@KennyOmegasCavity There are a lot of English dubbed anime shows in my country (Philippines) btw and probably it aired on Animax Asia, Cartoon Network Philippines or other channels.
Oh yeah I'm from PH 🇵🇭 and I'm familiar with that but I don't think I've seen an ep. Its contemporaries are Princess Sara, Cedie, Trapp Family Singers, Maria and the Secret Garden, A Dog of Flanders (which I hated 😂), Julio and Julia (which I also didn't like but would love to see again), Remi, but my most favorite was Saban's Peter Pan. I was in grade 7 in '93 and always cut class to watch those 😀
@@JamesLustre when Animax became available in mid 2000s I saw a clip where there was a huge alien invasion force of 4 million ships. I just switched channels since I didn't want to watch something that's not from the start. I'm pretty sure that was Macross unless there's another anime with millions of ships?
