    Seattle's loss should have been number 2 and the falcons number 1. The Falcons fell apart as a team while Seattle is still consistently making the playoffs.

      SB 49 and 51 are 1 a. and 1 b. as they are both the 2 biggest SB give a ways in SB history BAR NONE. Nobody throws a pick from the 1/2 yard line when you have at least 2 more plays to run to win the SB. The best argument I can provide (I still think it was a terrible call) is that Seattle had one timeout left. So if somehow they didn’t get it on second down from the run, they would have to pass the ball on third to stop the clock with an incompletion. But they still should’ve ran on 2nd and thrown on third.

      That was the universe giving Tom Brady a little bit of revenge for his perfect season being lost.
      The 2014 and 2016 super bowl wins we're kind of payback for Tom Brady for losing a perfect season, and losing two super bowls to Eli freaking Manning.

    I take major issue with the Seahawks loss being no 1 and ranked higher than the Bills losing in 90, the Falcons in '16 and the Titans in' 99. The loss is significantly more devestating for teams that have no superbowl wins (including two teams that never have made it any other time). I think there is also a case to be made for the Patriots loss in '07 being ranked higher than Seattles as I can't imagine a more devestating scenario than going from "greatest team of all time" to "greatest that never won".

    • @logicaldude3611
      @logicaldude3611 2 роки тому +4

      I think that loss is ranked #1 because everyone in the entire world expected them to run Lynch in for an easy TD. The game was over and everyone knew it. If they allowed people to bet on the outcome of the game in that moment, I don't think there's a person on the face of the earth who would have betted on New England. But the Seahawks wanted to make Wilson the hero so badly that they decided to throw instead. And not only was the pass incomplete, it was picked. The fortunes changed so quickly in the closing seconds that it definitely deserves to be near the top, if not #1.

    • @anthonyferrari711
      @anthonyferrari711 2 роки тому +4

      I don’t think they’re ranking most miserable franchises. They’re purely ranking the endings of individual games. The Bills in 1990 hadn’t lost any Super Bowls prior to 1990, so it’s not like they missed the kick and were like “oh no, this is extra terrible because we are going to lose the next 3 Super Bowls too!” However, I completely agree that, even just ranking individual games, and not contextualizing it with franchise histories, the Falcons loss in 2016 is way worse than what happened with the Seahawks. Seahawks blew what was one play in a very back and forth game. Falcons had a huge lead and proceeded to give the game away and completely blunder with a horrible game plan and execution for the entire 4th quarter.

      @@logicaldude3611 even if Lynch scores there is no guarantee they win, Brady was in surgical mode in the 4th 13 of 15 for 122 and 2 TDs I have no doubt he would've gotten us at least in FG range to send it to overtime or if they called a timeout and left him more time probably takes us down the field again, I used to say in the Bledsoe days "imagine going undefeated and lose the SB?" And it was every bit as painful as I thought it would be, especially when Asante Samuel lets the game ending pick hit him in the hands then drops it, Jarvis Green had Eli dead to rights a second away from the play being blown dead that resulted in the helmet catch, then seeing Brady just miss hitting Moss for the winner by a half inch, it took me until the win against Seattle before I could finally even talk about that game, 12-4 teams lose the SB all the time but being that close is soul crushing

      However, that's the play you call. Not a fade to Matthews, or a crosser to Baldwin, or a corner to Kearse? Hell, let russell fucking scramble it. BUT A FUCKING SLANT?
      Unsurprisingly, when was the last time Seattle ran slants after that play? Look at many of Baldwin's TD's in the past 3 seasons. Corners, Crossers or Fly routes. That's what works. Pete should have realized it, but he didn't, and Seattle was never the same.

      Whereas if you watch the highlights of the Falcons v Patriots Super Bowl, when Falcons went up I think it was 21-0 Sanu was celebrating saying it's sealed and Taylor Gabriel's response was just "but it's Tom Brady though". As a Falcons fan, that level of prescience makes me cry regularly.

    I'm a Seahawks fan,but I'd have to go with Scott Norwood. Only reason why,because that could've catapulted Buffalo winning FOUR straight. I remember that game like it was yesterday when Jeff Hostetler was the Giants qb. Sorry,but I couldn't fathom the idea being a fan of a team that lost FOUR STRAIGHT. Personally,Superbowl XL was devastating for ALL Seahawks fans. If you wanna talk about a rigged game. Superbowl XL is your cup of tea. But,the way Atlanta loss is like watching your friend helplessly getting pulled away by a RIP current and there's nothing you can do. Sorry,but choking that hard is the worst in sports history next to the NYY vs Boston in '04 when New York was up 3-0 as Boston triumphantly wins the series 4-3. Lol!!!!!

      @@shineman963 When Philly made a trick play en route to a td. By pure instinct,I said to myself "Why didn't Seattle do a trick play" and Pete Carroll called a trick play vs Saints when John Carlson jumped on the ground pretending the play was dead and was WIDE OPENED for an EASY td back in '11 from Hasselbeck when Seattle won the West at astounding record at 7-9 in '10,but that particular game was in the YEAR 2011 on a Sunday evening ET. But,yeah. Things happen. Lol.
