Just bought the monitor for 899 last night and honestly, very worth it. It’s a future proof monitor for when I upgrade to the 50’ series cards. The 240hz is unreal😅
Just wanted to throw out there for any military veterans if you have a Samsung account you can actually get this monitor with your military discount right now for $800 a massive discount and well worth it
Hey man I got a question, are you able to see any visible texture on solid colours on this monitor? I got mine a month ago and comparing it to my AW32QF, it's extremely grainy on solid colours, think a cloudy sky in games/media. I've asked a lot of people regarding it and apparently, no one can see it? I don't know if they're coping or my unit is straight up defective(not sure how a coating can be defective tbh).
Hello! I do not see any texture on any colors on mine. You should definitely RMA yours since it could be a manufacturing defect, or simply because you are not satisfied with the monitor.
I do like OLED monitors but for me personally they are too dark. And when you do brighten them they lose some of that amazing clarity and vibrancy from the colors. I think I'm going to give it another year or two until they can come up with some brighter OLED monitors that still retain that true 4K vibrant feel
If samsung didn't spend the entire development time and budget on there operating system and niche smart TV capabilities it would be available already .
I sad it not have dolby vision and heard about grainy or dull compared to say MSI Mag 321... which is glossy popping and has other extras such as kvm, usb C and supports Dolby Vision but, the G8 looks really nice to me asthetically.
Do you think the Samsung G80SD is worth the upgrade? Check out Brian's full review of the G80SD here: ua-cam.com/video/NrouvsPizrM/v-deo.html

Yes! There’s ultra wide mode
hi Paula, i wanted this tv to watch 4k bluray. Do you think it might be too dark sitting down from a distance.
@@Justin-fy7xk depends on how far you’re gonna be. But we’ve tried this from our couch the same distance as a TV and there was no drop off in quality.
@@PaulaMads Thanks paula. i will be 10 feet away

Woohooo g80sd is great
It’s pretty nice!
Hey Paula, new here. How’s it look in 21:9 ratio?
@@sahzus hello! It looks good if you are looking for ultra wide but it’s still better as a 16:9 because of the screen size.
@@PaulaMads is the screen itself actually very large? It’s hard to tell with a video😅
Actually this monitor does have warranty
