I got the G80SD exactly one week ago. And yes, it's true. The glossy panels are giving you a sharper image than this "matte" panel from Samsung. However, the advantages you get during the day heavily outweigh the disadvantages in comparison to the glossy. At night there is almost no difference between the two types of panels. Also consider that this matte is LESS matte than the WOLEDS. I love this monitor. I compared it the Alienware and MSI. Kept this one.
@@AlexGTech How about the raised black issues with all QD-OLED? Does it still do that in bright environment? As shown in your video, we can clearly see the purple tint whenever you have direct or near direct light source onto the panel.

I had one for almost two months and it's amazing. The only issue I found was that the monitor would go to sleep instead of turning off when you press the power button. The issue with that is with multi monitor setups. If you only want to use the second monitor then Windows would recognize the G80SD as being "on" and letting your mouse go over there. It would also randomly flash the second monitor. Which is quite annoying. But other than that it's an amazing monitor.
Wonder if those quirks would go away eventually as they update TyzenOS... The one I was using was pretty solid, but I only used it as a single monitor really
I have two of these and while the experience has been mostly good there are some drawbacks: - No built in KVM - Two remotes that turn off and on both of the displays (this is an issue if one of them turns off and not the other - then you end up just using the buttons on the display) - The absolutely humongous power brick (especially now that I have two of them) - The port placement (why oh why are they not facing down?) I had an Asus PG32UCDM before these and I returned it because of the purple tint (which pretty much isn't an issue with the coating on the Samsungs) and horrible aesthetics. You also had to use an adapter in order to get VESA compatibility.
I also recently returned my Alienware OLED but for different reasons!! Alienware had white balance issues like warmer whites i just want to know Samsung does better job in that area?

Hi there! I haven't tried the MSI yet, but considering it's of similar price, I think the Samsung offers quite a bit more features. And for rooms with reflections, I think the coating Samsung is using really makes a difference against glossy displays. I know that can also be a preference thing, but I quite like it (coming from an Alienware 144Hz curved 34" monitor). The other thing to consider is how Samsung cools the display to avoid burn-in, it's supposed to be a a more efficient cooling technology than what MSI uses.
Does the monitor have like automatic brightness control? I mean not like with ambient light sensor but something like Flux, in which you can set up time of day with a certain display brightness? I want high brightness during daytime and minimal hours before sleeping.

I'm undecided between MSI MPG 321URX and Samsung Odyssey G8. I want to get your suggestions. Thank's a lot.
When is the comparison video coming mate 🏃♂️
Is there a review on his lil bro the G6?
can you do it for Samsung Odyssey G6 plz
If Samsung did it with tab s10 series itta would been better
I should have some news on that tomorrow 👀
@@AlexGTech alright 👍
Did u say 4K 60hz. 13:30 13:40
could you make comparison with LG 32 4K oled? not only display but also sound, interface, ergonomics etc
Definitely! already working on that one 🥰
lg has way better built-in speakers than samsung.
Any setting suggestion for ps5? I bought this monitor but it seems so dark and less colorful :/
Does the monitor have like automatic brightness control? I mean not like with ambient light sensor but something like Flux, in which you can set up time of day with a certain display brightness?
I want high brightness during daytime and minimal hours before sleeping.
yes it is adaptive, if you use the EyeComfort Mode.
@@AlexGTech Im trying to optimize my sleep-wake cycle and this will come handy. Thanks for the quick answer!
As always you're giving us something very, very well made Alex. Content, filming, editing aso. The only weird thing is that dude sitting right in front of the camera 🤔🤙 (bad joke?😎)
Aaand at 4:00 , that's here in Norway🇧🇻✌️.
I've actually played football (yes Football, not soccer as the nut brains overseas tend to call it).
I played for about 4 minutes, then I had to quit because of exhaustion!
What a place!!! Always wondered where that was! So beautiful! And I feel you, my knees can’t handle football anymore 😂
@@AlexGTech Just Google football, Henningsvær Lofoten. It's way up north in Norway.
I pray to run into you on a FPS😂 great vid though
haha I will be in the noob lobbies 😅
When comparison video sir?
Can you make this monitor 24inch changing the aspect ratio with the in-monitor settings? I dont own a pc but a PS5, I play competitive call of duty and besides that i play a lot of story games. But for only my cod experience I need a 24inch screen size? Can you please tell me if this is adjustable playing console. Thank you
We need an affordable 2k 90fps OLED monitor
I've seen a few options out there, but haven't tried any
Can i play ps5 with this monitor
yes, it's awesome for that!
@AlexGTech thanks
@AlexGTech does the samsung odyssey neo g8 and the oled g8 have a big difference?
I have a question. So i have the ps5. Will i be able to plug my hdmi in and have no issue? I have a 32 inch g7. Just looking to upgrade but i know ultrawides arent supported
Yeah it's got two hdmi 2.1 inputs
Yeah it’ll work perfectly
I like the monitor but I'm too cheap to pay the price they want. Soon as a good sale comes on I will get it
VA PANEL WORRYS ME ON THIS ?
LOL that cable manager its terrible 😮
