First tour of the grow room 2024: Brassias in bloom

Today we take a first tour of the growroom for 2024. Julie's orchids has several plants in spike and a few in bloom. Be sure to stick around to the end to see the beautiful Brassias strut their stuff

Regarding your mounts. I notice they’re cork mounts. They’re notoriously hard to keep orchids on in our warm dry months. I believe you’ll have more success with coir mounts that hold their water & moisture much better.

Thank you. I was gifted those mounts from Lynn. If they come off those mounts they will go into pumice

Brassia Rex blooms should last quite a long time, 3-4 weeks in your climate. It should also be strongly fragrant.

Blooms are dropping like flies. I can’t see any signs of pests. Not one whiff of any fragrance. Maybe next time.
