Woodturning - Harry's Maple Flower Burl

In this week’s woodturning video, Harry and I have a awkwardly shaped hunk of Maple Burl. I was wanting to try and keep a bit of each grain feature in the piece and ended up doing an ok job. I think I’d prefer if it were just a hollowform with out the extra “bowl” portion but oh well!

Harry’s flower is very nice, but looks too fragile to touch around the drill hole. Did you glue the crack or just leave it loose? Hard to keep all the points on a burl when they have aged and turned dark. Good decision to go with the hollow form and a limited raw edge. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
