Here 8 months later and we got Capital Supremacy, Droidekas, more skins, and one week from now we'll get instant action, clone commandos, and Felucia as a map
And now we have COOP, Ashoka and ventress coming up next for cw, more skins for all classes and even the commandos and arcs and a ton of stuff coming up for rise of Skywalker. Plus all heroes playable and a remodeling of the creds so the grind isn’t as bad as it was

Simply put, they wanted to give the Battlefront name its own identity, and not have it just continue to be a Battlefield clone like the original games. And now they're reintroducing elements of Battlefield into it...

I got this game on the Black Friday sell for less than 10 dollars and I really enjoyed myself, however the loot box system left a scar on the progression system (I preferred BF1 system where the more you play the more you get, unlike the current one where you gain an ability that becomes better the more you play). Finally at 13:00 those people didn’t give up on playing the game, they were doing a glitch related to the squad spawn points that got fixed last patch
Yep. Got the game some time ago for 15€ and it was honestly pretty worth it for this price. Only got it though cause it's the only new SW game on the market nowadays and the visual/sound/music design really makes you feel like you're in one of the movies. But I wouldn't pay full price.

@@josetomascamposrobledano4618 For sure, but all I'm saying is that I would never even have bought it if I didn't get it for such a low price. It's fun for a few hours, but thats really it for me. The content drops are also way too infrequent, other multiplayer games get their new content way quicker. I think I wouldn't have gotten it if they didn't add in the last new clone wars heroes, geonosis map, new progression, no loot boxes etc. But still, I miss all the maps and heroes from the OG battlefront games, even if newer game's assets need more time to develop.

I feel that an open world Star Wars game would work sooo well, being able to have your own ship and travel to different planets would be so cool, also doing missions to get the best loot would be cool, just imagine what no mans sky plus Star Wars would be like
I mean, there are mods for Mount and Blade Warband, Turmoil Across the Stars, a Clone Wars era mod, and Star Wars Conquest set in the OG trilogy, and they try to recreate that, but to a limited extent.
Lets hope we get a good official release, not from EA hopefully.

the reason development slowed down so much is all the devs moved to battlefield V. there were only like 4 dudes working on star wars until like a week after battlefield launched but now they all came back which is why content is getting added again

Yeah, even when it still had the shitty progression system, coupled with probably the worst video game launch in history, it still is imo the most decent Star Wars game in recent memory. And it's only gotten/getting so, so much better, especially now that Geonosis and Grievous are a thing, to name a few. And a mode that's basically Conquest and Titan Assault's child is coming this Tuesday, for *free*. You heard that right, this game is making what honestly should be at the very least a $7 DLC for *free*. For all their imperfections, DICE is keeping true to their word.
Same here but it's a shame that they cant change they can't change the formula. It's way better now but the star cards,linear maps, and nerfed heroes take away from a lot of the fun.
Still no galactic conquest? An open Map, where you can use any vehicle at any point, to try to infiltrate the enemies base and to steal one of their vehicles? Man, those were times

Arthur Wacker I never said it was Ewan. It’s James Arnold Taylor obviously and James voiced Obi-Wan in TWO clone wars shows actually. One is non-Canon and it came out in 2003 called “Star Wars Clone Wars” and the other is Canon and it came out in 2008 and that is called “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”, hence me saying The Clone Wars and Clone Wars to differentiate between the two so...yeah!

The “rumour” about the lightsaber combat is fact. Dice said they’ll remove the stagger after hitting someone who’s blocking and you won’t be able to strike after running out of stamina. When is a mystery. About the lack of content, it’s because Dice fixed the progression in March and then Disney forced them to make Solo content in the form of creating 5 new skins, hiring 2 voice actors for 4 of the 5 said skins, create Kessel map and porting a game mode and another map (which may not be as easy as it sounds but I don’t know). After that, they had to finish some clone skins and start creating Obi Wan, Geonosis, Grievous, Anakin, Dooku and the new game mode. Oh, Grievous voice lines talking to Padmé and Ahsoka are in the files by the way

Alfonso Capó I’m hearing a lot of excuses. It doesn’t matter what the reasoning is, there SHOULD be much more content for the game by now. Any other game made by a developer who cares would have heaps of content by now. Look at past battlefields, the old DICE.
Just in case anybody doesn’t know Count Dooku is confirmed by Dice to be released on the 23rd of this month with the Corasaunt Guard Clone skin and Dooku is also coming with a skin named Dark Ritual. The new Lighsaber combat is also coming on the 23rd.

Two things to note about Pandemic's Battlefront 2 from 2005 (aka The Good One):
1. The game was supposedly released in an unfinished state, and yet it still had more content than EA's Battlefront at launch.
2. The original Battlefront 2 actually did have DLC exclusive to XBOX Live in the form of maps such as Cloud City, Rhen Var Citadel, Rhen Var Harbor, and Yavin IV Arena. These new maps even featured new heroes such as Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress. Alas, if you didn't buy these maps back in the day on the original XBOX, the only way to experience them now is by modding an original XBOX, but gameplay of the DLCs can be found here on UA-cam.

The new capital mode is actually amazing. It recaptured my feeling as a kid in the original Battlefront 2 and even though it's only one map, I can keep playing it and enjoy every match. I gave up on this game beginning of 2019 but this mode has brought me back and I'm happy they actually stuck to their word.

More of literally everything at a much higher quality and with much better gameplay. It’s not even debatable. It’s technically and mechanically better in every way. I’m 90% sure half of you are too young to have even grown up with the original games and are just trying to fit in.

I'm a pretty loyal member of the Battlefront community. I've played the living crap out of both the new games (over 300 hours in BF 2015 and over 200 in BF 2017, if you were wondering). I can say that, like everyone else, I've been disappointed time and time again with this game, however as someone who has stuck with this game through thick and thin, allow me to make a few things clear.
First of all, like you said in this video, considering how much time has passed since launch, it doesn't feel like there was a substantial amount of content. However, you have to consider what the devs did. They completely revamped the core of the game. Swapping out the progression system, while the game was still live mind you, was a MASSIVE undertaking. That was the big hold up for a while, and the reason new content was pushed back.
We know from data mines that they had plans to release tons of other content in early 2018. For example, there were new reinforcement classes in early development, and early WIP images of Grevious all found in the files very early last year. This shows that they had plans, but they were, for obvious reasons, delayed.
The next big hold up was, everyone's favorite company, EA. There were some very, very credible leaks coming out mid last year saying that EA had ported the vast majority of the devs working at DICE to Battlefield 5. Apparently, EA didn't deem Battlefront II "profitable" any more. This means that even after they had finally fixed the progression system, they had to find a way to support this game with a skeleton dev team.
Obviously, Battlefield 5 is out ( that game wasn't controversial either was it.....) and this game will be supported in 2019, so it's implied that more devs are working on it. I really think this game has a bright future.
I don't defend the crap this game has pulled, and I have gone through phases where I refused to touch another EA game because of how infuriated I was with this game, but I think it's remarkable what this game managed. When you consider that this game had the worst launch in video game history, I think it deserves a lot of credit.
I know I enjoy it now, and I commend The Act Man for giving it a shot, and I encourage everyone else to do the same. Besides, it's super cheap anymore. If you like Star Wars I recommend it.
Out of curiosity, how is the online population doing? It seemed pretty healthy around when I stopped playing.
algorithm It’s actually pretty solid. I play on Xbox and never have any issues finding games. It is slightly more difficult to find games on modes like Starfighter Assault and Hero Starfighters, simply because most people prefer ground combat, but overall it’s a pretty healthy player base.
algorithm on consoles it’s fine. On pc it’s empty on all modes except GA and that can only be filled on peak hours. I never actually got to play hero starfighters because no one is playing it. Not a single match... it was doa it strange it’s a mode I want to play but never can it’s completely empty. Usually 1 or 2 people on the planet are there on pc. Same goes for Ewok hunt. Completely empty. You’ll be waiting 2 hours and still get nothing. It’s sad. Much more populated on consoles you can actually play other modes.
Kamino Groove they didn’t rework the progression system. All they did was keep the grind in game for Star cards weapons and heroes then simply just removed them from loot boxes. That’s not that intense of a rework.
We all know it took 3 months to change the system and even longer to get new content mainly because EA put DICE all hands on deck for Battlefield V. And that was because EA simply sees more money and potential in battlefield over battlefront.
It’s certainly not because of goodwill from Dennis Branviel or the other devs who make themselves look like they care.

To your first point, they did a lot more than just remove star cards from loot boxes. They added an entirely new level system to each individual character, so that you now level up what you play instead of doing it at random. On top of that they had to find a way to transfer each player’s stats over to the new system in a way that makes sense. I may not be experienced in game development, but to me that’s a big undertaking.
Also, clearly “we” don’t all know why it took so long for content to be added. The Act Man was unaware in this video, and I’ve encountered several people on various platforms who were unaware. I don’t blame them for it, but outside of a very core group of fans, I don’t think many know what transpired.
Lastly, there’s no doubt EA sees more in Battlefield than Battlefront. Battlefield is one their biggest titles. However, I find your assertion that Dennis and his team don’t care about the game absolutely ludicrous. That’s not just because I’m a Battlefront fanboy. If they didn’t care about the game, I seriously doubt it would still be supported.
The fact that the playerbase has risen substantially in the past few months, the Geonosis trailer has reached over a million views, and that they have confirmed that there will be more to come in 2019, to me, signifies that they care.
GTA Online has to be the worst pay-to-win grindfest. And you thought Battlefront 2 was bad...

It has those modes, sure, but ultimately it's a 'fuck around do what you want' sandbox, so while people can pay to 'win' "winning" isn't really at the core of the game, at least in a consistent manner from person to person. (To me for example winning was getting that rare feeling like my character was actually a part of a living world and not a hollow digital shell of one)
Its shitty and grindy as hell, but I'd say that the most recent star wars abomination does it worse, because it affects its core reason for existing as a game worse. At the same time I kinda think it's like splitting hairs saying which is worse when both are so completely unpalatable. It's like deciding what's worse between out-house soup and a shit salad xD

What I want is a Singleplayer star wars game that centers around liberating planets from the Empire. Having open frontline wars with two armies battling it out is the dream game I want. Um... Star Wars: Empire at War?
There's even mods for the Clone Wars, First Order, Empire of the Hand, Youuson Vong invasion, Mandalorian Wars, Jedi Civil War, etc. Pretty much any major Star Wars conflict or faction you can think of has been modded into that game.
It's a strategy game though, not a first person shooter. The original Battlefront 2 had a mode kinda like what you describe, although it was pretty basic.
I live in an area with bad internet access so sometimes I can only play offline. The bots in the original star wars battlefront II were challenging because they could operate vehicles and they were pretty good as regular infantry as well but I don't remember too well.

As someone who has put (far to much time) into both classic and this version i can tell you why we got a low amount of content over the last year.
Battlefield V.
Many of BFIIs developers were moved over to work on that title, and couple that with the reworking progression, BFII had all its content plans pushed until they could actually make it. from what we can gather, from April to November there was a skeleton crew working on the game. So while we did get Kessel from Solo, Bespin Administration and Jabbas Palace from the 2015 game along with extraction,hero showdown and hero starfighters, the drops werent for the main mode or enough to generate hype. devs have since moved back, though some are rotating projects. BFII is getting more support through 2019, which is to be expected as IX drops this year so there will probably new rey and kylo skins plus maps from the film. While what we are getting after Anakin and conquest is a mystery, i feel safe in saying that there will be a lot more content drops this year.
The first battlefront was my childhood..... so much nostalgia😭
One of the things I love about the original battlefront to is the places that were in the movies. There’s yoda’s hut, the hoth command centre, the shield generator on endor, the hangar on geonosis, the cantina on tatooine, the big wings and landing platform and conference table on mustafar, the security room and council room and the place where yoda was training the younglings on coruscant, the landing platforms and big spoon chairs on kamino, the hangar and control centre and prison block and the big shields that obi wan shut down, jabba and the rancor and Han Solo on Jabbas palace, and so much more on many different maps.
I just got back in to the game and having so much fun playing

I disagree. The SJWs predominantly sit within Lucasfilm. The same bullshit that happened around Star Wars (to my knowledge) does not happen around Marvel (Movie devision).

Crafting Parts are gone you can't get them anymore when you start a new game. Credits are available to buy skins or cosmetics. The only reason you have crafting parts is you played in 2017.
The entire set up was revamped and level up. Next year, we are getting more Heroes and Villains confirmed by Dennis. We are getting Drokiea this year.
You can buy a BUNDLE Cheaper for 40,000 Credits for all Class for Clone Troopers.

It is not confirmed if you watched videos on news. In the Data Files you can see hints of a Sentinel Class and Files referring to Drokieas on Geonosis by Battle Droids stating where are those Droidekas?

This is a point that I think act man intentionally looked over. The new content could've come faster if EA didnt immediately move a majority of the staff to work on Battlefield V once the spring content season wrapped production.
It also doesn't help that Patrick Souderland, the lead director on Battlefront 2 and Battlefield V was fire.

Ik you’re pissed about the credits, but it doesn’t mean much to people that play the game regularly. They earn credits quick enough to unlock the skins n’ stuff without spending money.

As a battlefront player since it’s launch and still playing here and there (mostly when updates release 3rd/4th week of the month)
I think the game is enjoyable and is progressing at an accelerated rate since September.
September gave us a very good Squad System + Skins, October gave us Grevious (my personal favorite hero in the game currently) November gave us Obi wan, Geonosis, Skins, 3 new vehicles, and great balance fixes/bug fixes, December was a great “little” update with 1 amazing skin for Obi wan & Bug fixes. January 23rd we’re getting Dooku, Skins, & fixes! And February Anakin, Skins, Fixes, and possibly the biggest & best thing to come to battlefront... the conquest mode!
And it’s been confirmed that many more updates are planned for 2019. I think the game is worth a try, it’s regularly $20 and on sale it can be as low as $7.50! All the updates are free, the MTX are for skins and really don’t matter now. The only downsides I can say about the game are the long grind, and star cards granting unfair advantages for players who have played way longer, there can be some annoying glitches on occasion, and some heroes & Units need balancing (example being A specialist using a star card that allows them to deal 150 damage per melee hit as well as using a shield) but to be fair, the majority of games nowadays aren’t doing any better, most are actually worse.
I will say this as well, Battlefront has free updates and DLC! Games like destiny are unbearable to play imo because you pay $60, and then another $20-$30 for 1 DLC pack... it’s a rip off and that is just disgusting. The fact the developers have brought 2 heroes, 1 amazing map, several other things throughout the year, and even more this year are coming for free is impressive and keeps me interested more than if it was $10 for each DLC update.
Or they could.. Y'know. Nerf them somewhat. Not significantly, just enough to lower the dificulty a bit.

No. I have to disagree. Micro transactions is not that bad like you proclaimed as such. They will become bad when you put objective enjoyment behind in these microtransactions. For example Bethesda’s creation club has some interesting CC content that should be considered as somewhat micro dlc like and it has potential but only if they would optimize the prices. I’m fine if someone wants to buy CC content that’s all but. I don’t want CC be gatekeeper of enjoyment.
There is NEVER such a thing as "optional microtransactions". If a game has microtransactions, that means 100% that something was changed or cut to make the microtransactions more alluring. Just look at the game portrayed in this video. As much as the Act Man complained about the slowness of progression and how grindy the game felt, it used to be even worse; after removing the option to buy progress with real money, the game had to be changed to reduce grind because it was so unbearable. I.e. the game was designed to have unbearable grind to promote microtransactions. The same was done in Shadow of War. When the ability to pay for progress is removed, unlocking stuff by playing is always made easier, what more proof do you need that grind is artificially added in games with microtransactions
Now there *are* "optional" microtransactions in the sense that YOU, personally, might not care about the stuff being sold, and so YOU might view them as optional. But YOU aren't the only gamer in the world, games aren't designed around you, and if you don't care about something that probably means thousands if not millions of people do care (a good rule of thumb: game devs don't spend thousands of hours of development time designing and programming stuff nobody cares about; if it's in the game, that probably means someone wants it, or at least the devs believed they did). Saying stuff like "it's just cosmetic so it doesn't matter because I mainly care about the competitive aspect" is just as retarded as saying "it only affects gameplay so it doesn't matter because I'm casual and mainly care about how the game looks". In-game stuff, whether it's gameplay related or cosmetic, being locked behind a paywall or a terrible grind always makes the game worse, if not specifically for you, then for many others

Ryan GoFett24 even then I find them to be implemented badly as companies have no clue how to price them appropriately e.g two elite skins in rainbow six siege costs the same as a season pass with 8 operators and alternate clothing.
This video makes me pretty damn happy. I've never played the game and I don't plan on getting around to it, but I'm glad to see it's doing better.
