Agree. Think Ilmor CART/Indycar V8 sounded like "REAL Euro V8" instead of a knockoff Fireblade. GSX, or Ninja. And the downshifts just screams fireworks.
What a glorious sound I miss these thunderous V8's from the mid-2010's sooooo much :( These, GP2's and the FR3.5's were the best sounding single seaters once the V6 era kicked in for F1...
Easily one of the most intense startup vids I’ve seen. That thing just screams purpose. Came back to say the sound at 6:30 is just pure magic. Really hope the drivers appreciate how complete their lives are now...
I got to see the A1GP race at Laguna Seca in 2006. It was a free race weekend due to a heavy rain storm going through the area a day or so before the race weekend took place. It was the only time I had a little more access to take pictures from.
Ho avuto il piacere di ascoltare questo V8 al Minardi Day e devo dire che è proprio un bel sentire! Lo scarico 8 in 1 lo fa sibilare quasi come un V12.
They should make a real public series out of it, so F1 fans can finally skip the current bullshit and get back what they're always asking for. Bleeding ears and bleeding hearts! ❤️
Like a weird-looking version of an old F1 (mid-noughties) or early-GP2 car. The one at 4:52 looks like the Mclaren-Hondas of the previous turbo era and early-V12 era. Lastly, the helmet design at the beginning of the Imola portion reminds me of Karun Chandhok's.
I beg to differ: ua-cam.com/video/MDqUs5Cm2fA/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/AVgQEIYKNhk/v-deo.html Can't beat the MP4/15 with it's unique exhaust system arrangement
But yeah I personally agree. I do understand that people like the volume of the v10s because I think the v8s were slightly quieter when there is only one car, but the actual tone of the v8s is better than the v10 IMO
I saw these in a city demonstration here in the UK in 2006... you think they're loud here, try accelerating through a city street echoing off the buildings... forever imprinted on my 13 year old self...
Does anyone know why these Gibson and Zytek engines crackle so much on the overrun? The LMP2 V8’s do the same thing, I’m thinking it must be intentional. To me it sounds like the ignition timing is retarded with no overrun fuel cut similar to a “pop and crackle” tune you would see on a street car. Why would this be? My first idea is that maybe leaving the engine in this way would allow better heat management as the injection of this much excess fuel on the overrun would allow mass flow through the engine and allow heat to be rejected through the fuel itself. By retarding ignition timing this much maybe they are able to produce very little torque in the combustion cycle but still get a lot of fuel to take heat out of the engine. This or exhaust gasses are being used to route airflow near the back of the car in a specific way. I’m not sure. I could be completely wrong on both ideas.
F1 cars did it...saw...and heard back in 94/95. Flames spewing out together with the pops, bangs and crackles on the overrun. Renault V10 (Williams) was an awesome assault on the senses!!
Auto Gp disappeared a few years ago, so are these guys practicing to became drivers with the former Auto Gp Cars? Or why are they driving'em? Btw for being a inferior division what a great looking cars
@@dani02_mmd also we McLaren got their engine from too. Zytek/Gibson used the VK which is what I have in my car. But McLaren used a version of the VRH one of the greatest motors ever made.
One of my favourite engine sounds.

Yeah man
I just love the sound quality and the sound of that car
Your videos are so good and smooth sometimes I feel like your videos should be on TV
LOL this coverage is the future.. TV is no comparison..we get all the best views and action with no talking heads.
They regularly go on my TV :D
I cast these to my 60" tv with a sorta decent sound bar! As good as broadcast and, as another commenter said, no unnecessary distractions.

I saw Auto GP at the Nürburgring in 2015... these things were LOUD, omg. By far the loudest of all classes racing that weekend.
Downshifts sound like fireworks!
Yo!
Sound like my stomach after eating spicy Mexican food.
To me it sounds more like a mini gun

Bozzy wins. 2021 clip of the year my god..
I used to absolutely love watching these back in A1GP at Brands Hatch.
Hearing them again brings back memories, thank you!
Red Bull Renault: We have best off throttle sound!
Lola B05/52: hold my brrrtt brrrtttt brrrrttt brrrrrrttt
Popcorn is ready indeed! haha. Great vid!
WOW those cars sound amazing!!!!!
One of my Fave engines and car combos. Gorgeous scream from that V8.

Auto GP was a spec series but it was suspended in 2016 because of a lack of entries ;-; only about 8 or 9 per race in the final events
Love this sound
Grande som ... automobilismo de verdade ... motor e potencia
Wow beatifull lola chasis most engine v8 pure melody the maximun 😍🏎🏎😙😊
Sex is cool and all but, this.... This sound absolutely one of the best things in the world
viva petrol engines forever !!
This is a straight up ASMR
Best sounds ever after F1 V10
2012-spec bruh.. and it sounds like a BEAST
It looked lot like Marlboro in the thumbnails. The font. The color palette.

Their original A1GP aero package looked much more retro even and they ran very fat rear tires also.
Muy buen video👏👏👏👏👏
Sounds SO much better than the current v6 engines of today. :(
Nothing beats the scream of the v10 engine though. :D
V12.
This is amazing sound the formula car sound 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Can't beat the MP4/15 with it's unique exhaust system arrangement
After listening to the wonderful V10s for so long, I am kind of getting bored. This V8 is something refreshing and nice to hear
Reeee you cant say that, all the people in the comments of every v8/v6 video starting circlejerks about how the v10s were better won't like you

The MP4/15 has a better sound for sure
I wonder how f1's would sound if there v8's rumbled? 🤔
They wouldn't as they have v6s

A new racing series with such cars and the catastrophic Formula 1 is over.
Sound like F1 "Wing Cars" (exhaust pipes on the top/behind) with DFV V8 COSWORTH (1970/1980)👍‼️💯🏁🏎️🤓
Lindo sonido son V8?

i rather don't have formula if I have to have 3.4 Judd in it.
