Congratulations, on the award. What you have here is something special, you and your dad bonding together, giving old cars new life, love it. Anyone can be a parts changer, but Y'all fix things right, repairing components, taking care at the same time. Keeping it original! Your channel is relaxing to me, I am 66 years old and those old cars bring back memories, and need to be preserved. Great Job.
I've done this same type of repair on old clunkers my whole life. First because I was too poor to pay for a good car and too poor to pay a mechanic. Back then, in the 60s-70s there wasn't a youtube to watch 'how to' videos. I had to trial and error almost everything. I can still remember the extreme frustration after the errors. And the thrill of victory after the successes. I can't do much anymore so I live vicariously through your videos. Great job.
I’ve worked on a few old radios and when they sit a long time the dirty parts stick. Get a can of tuner cleaner it will have a straw like carb cleaner. Pull the knobs off the radio and squirt the tuner cleaner in the stems that move in the part where the knobs are at while moving the knobs back and fourth very fast and that will clean the sound .
It's nice to see that you're being meticulous with every little tiny thing on the dashboard and inside the car that's cool that everything's going to work
I love what you and your dad do to bring life to these otherwise junked cars. We need more of them on the streets. They have so much more class and personality.
I love what you do, Travis. You’re re-igniting my fire for 59-62’s. Bringing back an unmolested survivor like this is and combing through all the details is exactly what I’m dreaming of.
Thanks for saving her! The 59 and 60 Chevys are beautiful cars and are DEFINITELY worth saving. They have a look all their own. And they were good cars too!
It is a big joy to see how you, talented guy, tackle the countless problems on this old Impala. This lady is going to be much better than every new (plastic) car ever. Congratulation man !!!
Excellent long wrap up video! Great work and effort, a beautiful big pretty rusty old US car, a beautiful and pleasant looking wife, a calm dad with great craftsman and repair knowledge and finally a silver YT button and 120.000 subs! You look pretty happy to me my friend and you deserve it! Kisses from the Mediterranean and Greece! Keep up, Jim.
Congratulations on the100k subscription to your channel. As someone with very little mechanical ability I'm amazed how you and your Dad can fix these old vehicles. I think that 60 Impala along with the 59 are two of most beautiful automobile designs ever. Thank you for doing the 60 Impala videos. You must have gotten so much satisfaction bringing that car back to life and making the road trip. Good luck in the future to you and your family.
What I like about your channel is the repairs which include some cosmetic aspects and the travelogue style of the long drives which get interrupted by the kindness of strangers who help out at your emergency kerb side repairs. But most of all I like your articulate, quietly persistent personality. Thank you and congratulations on over 100k subscribers!
It's great to see Emily and Rick again. Your dad was genuinely proud of you for getting the 100K button. Keep up the good work and we will keep watching.
Great Progress I think everyone will agree we would like to see more work on this car. Your Dad is good with metal order the Trunk Metal and floor metal and do a series on that repair.
Congratulations on your 100,000th subscribers. That's quite a milestone. Job well done. And also, congrats on your new marriage. She seems like a keeper.
Man ! You can fix everything like brand new. Kudos 👍 😊 I subscribed to your channel today. It's fun and entertaining to watch. You keep things smoothly moving. There is nothing boring in your videos. 👍👍🙂
Make your own floor pans! It's actually pretty easy and wayy cheaper than buying precut floor pans. Just get some sheet metal thats similar in thickness to the floor pans and cut it to shape. You can either weld them in or just use panel bond and body filler to make it just as sturdy as the factory floor. I recently rebuilt the whole drivers floorpan of a toyota matrix i got for free.
Nice job my dude. One of my Car club buddies and I did the samething basically over Memorial day weekend. We drove from Northwest Arizona to Miami Oklahoma (one the Oklahoma Missouri Border) to get the 74 Thunderbird that his wife drove in High School in the late 80's without her knowing. We didn't drive it back or anything, we throw it on my trailer and just hauled it back. The sheer smile and excitment on her face was worth the 2 and a half day trip. She had been hounding her for several years to find her a car to take to cars and coffee's and local shows so he was like why not get HER car and rebuild it for her so he called up her cousin who she gave the car to to drive in high school when he joined the Air Force and told him his plan and he just said "Come and get it" so we did. took us another 2 days to get it running and go through the brakes and all that.
I think Chevy stylists designed a good looking car in 1960. You did a good job in getting it home. That car brings back some good memories, owing to the fact that Dad had one in black, with a 283 powerglide back in the 1960's.Congrats on 100 K.
