- Greetings again viewers!
Is Class-A life really all it's cracked up to be? Does the space and comfort of a Fifth Wheel make for better full-time RVing?
Today in addition to presenting the 3rd and final installment of our shakedown trip in our new-to-us Fleetwood Bounder 35K, we also discuss the pros and cons of moving from a 39' Fifth Wheel to a 36' Class-A gas powered motorhome. So join us as we spend time in Fort Collins, Colorado- one of our absolute favorite places to visit. We scored an incredible spot at the Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA Holiday that even had a hot tub at our site!! Although this was a short stay - we got to enjoy Old Town Fort Collins, experience the crazy cool Halloween festivities at the KOA, and even got to visit one of my all-time favorite spots - Pinball Jones!!
Shoutout to @MostTimers who's rig we couldn't help but to mention when talking about beautiful Class-A's (and AMAZING people!)
Please feel free to leave a comment with any questions you might have about the differences/advantages/disadvantages of either rig or specifics we might have missed. There's already more pros (and maybe a con or two) that we've thought of since filming the Q&A - I mean- how could I forget being able to play video games outside of the Class-A!?!
Thanks as always for watching and we appreciate the likes and subscribes.....and rememeber....DON'T GET ELIMINATED!!!!

I’ve had 2 class A diesel pushers 40 ft & 43 ft. I’ve had 2 class A gas engines. 36ft and 30ft. Not full time. If I was full time definitely would go DP route. If you love your rig don’t go to RV shows. Love what you have
Thank you for sharing. I'm sure a DP is in our future. The question is, how long can we just 'deal' with this one?! Thank you for watching and commenting. Truly helps us out.
We bought a gas Thor A first because we weren’t sure that was what we wanted. Traded it 2yrs later for a diesel Pace Arrow LXE. The Thor struggled up the mountains towing our Wrangler. We usually stopped and unhooked it.
Unhooking does make all the difference in the world for us too! That diesel just looks so nice right now! Thank you for sharing your story too. We really appreciate you watching and commenting. Have a wonderful day!
We had 2 5th wheels, one 34 ft and the last one was 42 ft. Pulled them with a F450 dually. We sold truck and 5th wheel and bought a class A DP. 5th wheels are nice once you get to a campground and you get set up. But 5th wheels have many negatives some of what you described. As we have gotten older a Class A is way easier to get set up. I love having a generator that runs on diesel, allows us to boondock more and use Harvest Hosts. 5th wheels feel less solid compared to Class A. Sure we have less space in Class A, but the positives of Class A outweigh the negatives.
I had Fleetwood pace arrow 40ft 4 slides... wait until you have fun with those slides!got rud if it and went to a class c no slides!I couldn't be happier...but that MY PREFERENCE! But still love camping....
Ugh, those slides malfunctioning are up there on my worry list. We are starting to understand the 'light & tight' side of travel. The Class C & B's with no slides or even the airstreams. It makes more and more sense.
Neither, class c.
Thank you!
