Fun fact regarding the Canadian Thermold mags - as they age the plastic/polymer degrades to the point that the feed lips become brittle & in cold weather don't be suprised if you get a jam, shortly followed by a fountain of live rounds as you extract the mag to clear the jam.
Thank you for this info Val!! We appreciate your hard in earned info gained through actual field experience. keep it coming and Godspeed!! P.S. I bought some surplus EMAG's way back in the day for next to nothing and I have had absolutely no issues with any guns I've tried them out on from AR's to Brens. I am a mere sports shooter so I can't say anything about performance on fully automatic but at least for me they have been perfect.
The Israeli's also designed a polymer mag called the 'Orelite' in the mid 90's for the M16. I still have a few but they weren't as durable as the standard aluminum magazines.
@@tenarmurk LOL Some of their stuff was good. The Galil, UZI and Merkeva tank are excellent. And IMI ammunition is really good too. But yes, some things are done cheaply.
@@RicArmstrong I don't think the Orlites were unique for being a polymer M16 mag that was a bit crap. The Thermolds and Ramlines were... of lesser quality and reliability. The Ramlines in particular were made to be used with the AR-15, AR-18, and Mini-14, but the only positive things I've heard about their reliability is with the Mini-14.
If anybody hunting in the comments really needs the profile of an emag, the new TMAG has practically the same sides and texture, though they're not cheap
Ask colonel Akula about his Emag experience. Can get overinserted. Go with gen 3 pmag or lancers. Ets gen3 are good too, lots of those went to az 1-2, they were cheap and work fine.

Tis but a scratch.. (Referring to your finger) Though I know about the E-Mag, great video on it. I fortunately own a few of these. I really want to visit your armory.
I bought some EMAGs back in ~2016 back when seemingly no one else in the US knew about them, and have been running "Ranger" baseplates on them since day 1. They're great.
Val, it would be great if u bring the video about ammo that u are use or had the experience. Are u use standard 5.56 m193 ammo or m855-a1 or m995? 7.62 NATO same.
@mr.stotruppen8724 Yeah, I thought the same, 80% of 5.56 would be fmj m193 or ss109 type(harded or don't steel penetrator with lead-copper core) ammo, but maybe they use some rare nato made or bulgarian made ammos.
@nemazikakoynfig753 yes, but m855a1 destroy the barrel of the gun 50% faster, I would load 1 m855a1 and 3 m193 to mag they maybe do thats way. On 7.62 1 m80a1 or m993 3-4 m80 ball, but 7.62 nato ammo belts come already loaded with disintegrated belts so... idk. That's why I want to listen from a guy who operates with stuff there.
855A1 is fine. They dropped the stupid high pressures everyone was talking about back in 2014 and there was another revision in 2018. Don't mix ammo if you can help it. Your zero is going to jump all over the place.
I know in a few years E-mags will become stupid expensive just like gen 1 straight 20rd mags! 😂 Whoever thought magpul polymer mags would increase in value as newer better versions came out?! Now I wish I would've taken better care of my old 20rd mags and not given away/traded so many gen 1 20's to random guys at the range sighting in rifles from a bag on a bench using 30rd mags back in the day lol Oh well hopefully they kept up with them and sold them for $40-50! 😵💫
You'll find some surplus in UK stores (usually sold by soldiers not surplused out ny MoD). But from what Val is saying they get them occasionally from surplus gear from the UK where empty mags have been left inside.
Emags won't fit a FS2000 w/o removing the rubber lips from the magwell. I have one and I tried... Have never had access to a F2000 but I'd expect it to be the same
I'm curious if you have bumped into any of zenitco gear? Does it hold up to the type of field conditions you guys and the Russians are in? Hell can the basic Russian infantry even get/afford zenitco?
There is little to no zenitco around, it's for the units that are inside Russia like Sobrs, FSB etc. There is no reason for westerner to buy that stuff, you have ultimate, TWS, Krebs custom etc that make far better accessories
Not basic infantry, but you see special forces using some Zenitco attachments quite often. But those full Zenitco builds you sometimes see people simp over don’t really exist in the real world and especially not outside of competitions with the best funded units.
Maybe it's different for the other Zenitco stocks but I've seen two Zenitco AKM pattern folding stocks (PT-5) with serious problems staying screwed on. For one, the rear screws were super cheap and stripped on their own following regular use (not even anything like field use, but just having them on a normal semi-auto only WASR-10 for a thousand or so rounds). So you replace the rear screws with DIN963 M3x8 size screws and then you end up stripping the female threads on the stock itself. It was a massive headache, totally not worth it, and if the other stocks have these basic mounting problems then Zenitco stuff must be living in the armory after every mission. It's a shame too because they are nice stocks otherwise but if it can't stay mounted it's not worth it and having to rethread a hole on such an expensive item is ridiculous. The Midwest Industries clone is better but going through all that will make you appreciate regular wood stocks again.
Thanks for your presentation. It was very interesting to me to hear about covering the ammo in very dirty conditions. I am curious, if you had them, would you use the same thing for AK mags as well? Good luck, stay prepared, Слава Україні!
What does the yellow tab at the front of the training magazine do? Does it depress the strip of metal sticking out the top of the mag if you pull it down?
@@valgear5525 5:43 You would be quite naive if you believed the U$ narrative of the murder of "Osama Bin Laden", Hollywood style, in Pakistan, a U$ client state, while NATO operatives numbering 150,000+ were looking for "him" in Afghanistan. The official story of "killing Bin Laden" in 2011, was an electoral ploy to get half-Negro president Obama re-elected for a second term. The real Bin Laden had died almost ten years earlier, circa 2002, reportedly of kidney failure. It's a complicated story, but note the discrepancy: the Pentagon and its NATO branch invade Afghanistan to find Bin Laden, and "he" ends up being killed by "Seals" in Pakistan!
Nice looking truck. Just a piece of advice, consider welding on a large galvanized steel pipe to your frame as a replacement rear bumper. It’s cheap, easy, and works wonders for pulling yourself out of the mud if you get stuck or shoving whatever’s behind you out of your way.
