• How to See Better at N...
Doubling the light output on a budget. In this episode we will do 3 cheap lighting mods and one free one.
The Hi/Lo Mod: keeps your low beams on when you hit your high beams.
The Dual DRL (Daytime Running Light) Mod: doubles your front signal allowing you to be seen better when making lane changes.
The 3rd Brake Light Flip Mod: Flip your third brake light to fit the look of the truck better and seal it to prevent water damage from failed gaskets.
The Dual Brake Light Mod: Doubles your brake lights in the rear and allows the signal to now be amber to better signal other drivers.
BONUS: This mod requires adding an aux back up light for greater visibility when reversing

Thanks for watching! We are continuing to make helpful videos like this. if you have any suggestions on future videos make sure to comment what you would like to see.
The double indicator using both amber lights is how it should have been from the factory. Glad to see someone did it!
Agreed. I am a little bit on the fence about sequential lights though.
@@BadlandIndustriesneed your solution on an issue 06 Colorado DRL/ parking lamp/ turn signals/ shit why didn't they just add 5 more functions to 1 little bulb. Get back with me
06 GMC i put LED's rears, my CC stopped working.
Yep you need to add the load resisters
Dude I love the videos. As an 07 canyon as my first truck it’s so awesome to see some easy mods and how to’s!
I have an 05 as my first truck it’s been nice and reliable other then anoying electrical issues
Thank you for this helpful video, I'm using this to help upgrade the lighting on my truck. I'm making use of the High & Low beam mod, Supermod's DRL mod and the dual front signal mod together with LED lighting.
You say that the power goes to the 87a pin when you put your high beams on, so shouldn’t the connection be between the 30 pin and the 87 pin, if you always want the low beams?
i dont have the exact schematic available but this is the way we found it to work and it's worked on tons of colorados for years.
@@BadlandIndustries only asking because I tried it and it didn’t work, still performs as before. Maybe it doesn’t have enough connection.
Here's the forum instructions used to do this mod. www.355nation.net/threads/how-to-dual-high-low-headlights.7626/
Is it possible to wire a strobe or bright light to license plate??
I am having problems with original license plate lights to go on and im wondering if its possible to add a cheap light into existing writing
Pretty sure a strobe would be illegal. Are you sure the sockets aren't simply bent or corroded?
You should sell those already made The relay for the headlights
Does this cause the fuse to need replaced more often or draw too much power causing early failure ?
Nope. No adverse affects
Awesome video, I now have a project for this weekend. How can I keep my fog lamps on though when turning on high beams?
You'll have to search 355nation for that one. I believe it's another jumper wire but from one fuse to another.
hi, i have a colorado 2012 but the relay is different, with 4 legs. How could I place the cable to make the high and low lights turn on together like in your video?
its a bit more involved since your daytime running lights are your headlights.
Do you happen to know how to keep the fog lights from cutting out when you put on the brights?
Depends on the year but there is a way to jumper the high power out to the fog in.
@@BadlandIndustriesI have an '05 Colorado. What do I have to do?
@@DesertRunner602 you would need to fee the fog relay from the hi beam fuse I think.
@@BadlandIndustries OK. Thank you for the advice. I'll try it
Nice easy mods. I need to do the drls and the rear lights
Great video. The only one you didn't do was keeping the fog lights on with high beams on
@@BruceHendrickson its a bit more involved in the wiring and didn't want to confuse anyone. i have a follow up video for the upgraded headlights coming and i plan to work out the best way to make the fog lights work as well.
@@BadlandIndustries I have been putting it off too because it is involved. Also I may drop the factory fogs to get the additional approach.
Thanks for the Rear Tail conversion how to Kevin! I've had a set of rear tail light harnesses in the tool box waiting for this mod!
Could you open up the relay and do the same thing internally for the headlight mod?
yes but since the mod is so easy to do externally i'm not sure there would be an advantage to doing it internally
I feel like doing this internally would be the best way to do it.. And then with you guys as a company you could modify them internally and sell them...
How did you do the wiring for the back led bar
Just an inline tap to the reverse wire
Thank you, i finally gets some mods for my truck
