Thanks for the great info, Brad!! I lost most of my lawn this year due to pythium. I had only used azoxystrobin and propoconizol as a preventative because that is what my lawn guide had for fungicide applications. I learned a very hard and discouraging lesson. Thanks for clearing this up and helping others not to have to learn the hard way!
I'll have to say I was walking the yard and contemplating if I'm going to be able to continue this lawn care journey because of dealing with fungus. I've use some organic fungicides but they usually have to be reapplied every few days... I have another section of my yard that can't be seen it's a salad patch and I never have to deal with fungus in it and I can mow it at about 1 in to 2 in and it can almost die off to nothing during a drought and come back when the rain comes LOL. Anyway your yard is looking good 👍
I've always just "taken a chance" before and been fine, but this year I took the safe route and did fungicide just like you said with the TM 4.5 and then watering in mefenoxam and azoxy. Glad I did because They're calling for all all this week and it's still high 70s
Obviously if you wait late in the year it’s less likely to happen but I like to seed early get it established and get a pre emergent down and typically the weather here in NC when I seed is still very warm and humid.
@@Primetime_Fescue I normally go the second week of September Myself, for me in southern Maryland my weather is pretty similar to yours but I get a bit cooler in the winter. It was mid 80s for me when I seeded this past Sunday and this past week.
Hey Brad! I reseeded my lawn in which I had lost most of it due to weather and disease this past season. My question is, I put down propoconizol at the time of seeding, and it's been about 18 days since the reseed. Should I now put down azoxystrobin, or azoxystrobin and propoconizol? Those are the only two fungicides that I currently have. Thanks for your help 👍
did my first overseed this last month with elite PRG and half my yard got wiped out by pythium. It was awful. I was clueless about fungus and fungicides. Now i keep mefenoxam and propicanozale on hand.
Thank you for the video. I just did a total lawn Reno the front is 100% kbg and the back is tttf/kbg mix I only put down prop at seeding I now have a Pythium issue can I still apply mefenoxam now? the front is 18 days since seed down and the back is about 9 days. Thanks again I love watching yours and Pete’s channel
@@Primetime_Fescue awesome thanks so much. Hopefully this saves the lawn it’s not bad yet lol but if I wait any longer It could get bad. Is there any other recommendations you could throw my way?
@@Primetime_Fescue yes I bought more propiconaze. Azoxy. And the mefenoxam. All will be here tomorrow I plan on doing just that. Thanks again. Keep up with the great vids. I’ll talk to you along the way brotha.
It will be perfectly fine!! Doesn’t control a lot of diseases other than dollar spot and brown patch but you will be completely fine! It even says on the label you can apply at seeding!
Funny bc most channels never really mention this topic but i skipped the fungicide this year and i have several spots that have gotten wrecked over the past 2 weeks after my over seed. Next year i guess.
@@Primetime_Fescue live and learn! Glad I've now found your channel. Every year fungus gets me because it gets so humid followed up by rains. Appreciate the info.
I use to in the golf industry mainly urea. Not a big fan of straight AMS unless your wanting to lower you ph. I don’t melt fert anymore just more of a hassle now although cheaper! I spray a 50% den that’s in the video 80% of the time. I do spray some fast release early spring late fall but it’s 3 different nitrogen sources which are AMS, Nitrate, Urea mostly urea though
@rickjames1246 I start mine after first mow. No rule really as long as you don’t get carried away. If you apples a fertilizer at seeding I see no use until you mow it a few times there should still be nutrients in the soil from that. I didn’t apply a granular at seeding sprayed .10 pounds on existing grass so I sprayed some in new grass after first mow.
Hey Brad. I overseeded 9 days ago. Got new grass everywhere. I’m planning on purchasing these 3 fungicides and get em down by mid to end of week. Should I go with lower rate on all 3? And then higher rate if needing to treat?
If it were mine I would do full rate being your watering more. Obviously if your temps aren’t conclusive for disease don’t apply but if your 70s and 80s I would definitely apply
@@Primetime_Fescue I have propiconizole at the house. If I get the azoxy and mefenoxam and tank mix propiconizole into it, would that be good? Or just use azoxy and mefenoxam? I can’t find a gallon of 3336 or transom 4.5. Looks like due to the rates I’d need a gallon to get a couple apps. Spraying fungicide is new to me so I appreciate the help. I usually just take my chance but I’m thinking my chances could run out lol. Thanks Brad!
Thank you for taking the time to make these!
Awesome video man! 🙂
Thanks for making the fungicide video.
Thanks for watching

Absolutely 100% you can!!

But Azoxystrobin and keep it in hand or spray it with the mefenoxam

I just put down granular azoxy and prop yesterday at the same time as seeding. Is the prop okay? You don’t seem to mention it

Hey Brad, I've got some Azoxy and Prop left, can I apply those two, and those only? Would you do it before or at seeding?
I would do it at seeding and water in that way old grass can take it up by the roots and new grass will also

Absolutely you can apply it at seeding also

@ryanconnor7073 azoxy and mefenoxam should be fine
@ryanconnor7073 you can also add in prop but is it necessary meh I didn’t apply prop
