    Good video showing the ups and downs of installing a mesh network, when you are impatient with the TP-App when you can instead wait for the configuration to finish.

    I've had the S4 for about 6 months and I had no problems setting it up. The only thing I can think was going wrong with your experience, is either the existing wifi was interfering, or you were plugging the additional Deco's in too early. I hope you got it sorted.
    I have my main Deco plugged into the fibre modem, with one of the satellites fed with cat6 plugged into the second rj45 on the main Deco. I've also added a cheap eBay M4R to make 4 Deco's, and I get full speed everywhere in my house, and on average I have about 25 permanently connected devices. I used to have a multi access point system and that was a complete pain. Only problem I've found reported, is it seems to only use channel 36 on the 5ghz, so if you have a lot of other networks near you, it could be a problem because you can't manually change it. I don't have any other wifi near me so I haven't had problems. Great product, highly recommended and excellent value.

      In a sense yes. You should daisy chain them, so modem > tp1 > tp2 > tp3 then you set it in the app as access point. Hereafter you disable your modems WiFi radios. So your tp links acts as remote antennas . Or you can use them as separate routers. Though this gives many issues imo.

    • @981porsche3
      @981porsche3 Рік тому +4

      All 3 act as one network, so by spreading them out in your home, it WILL effectively increase the coverage of your network.

    Hi, I have question. After you successfully connect all 3, do you unplug and move the 2 that you were going to put in diff room and it will connect to the main #1 deco? What if the 2 is too far from the main deco?

    • @UbergeeksBiz
      @UbergeeksBiz  2 роки тому +5

      Hi. Yes, that is what I did. Moved the two to diff room. And retest the signal. Sometimes if you moved too far away, just readjust closer back to #1 deco.

    Great Video, question on Port Forwarding… I’m just purchased the Deco XE75 and I have 6 cameras, a thermostats several WYZE plugs a Ring door bell, Amazon Fire Sticks, Chrome Cast and the list goes on.. It sounds like port forwarding is something that will transfer all your existing WiFi items to the new router, is that so or will I have to go through all of the WiFi items and reconnect to the new router?? Help is needed here… And thanks in advance..

      If there is export file port forwarding, do that. If not, more likely you have to re-program again

    My security system doorbell camera says my connection is slow - it's a high-speed fiber internet, not slow. It keeps disconnecting and is a PITA to get reconnected. My firmware is up-to-date.
    The primary Deco is downstairs in the rear of my townhouse, the first satellite is at the front door where the doorbell camera is located. The 3rd is upstairs for 2 TVs and guests. Did anyone mentioned here or in this video, that there is a speed 100Mbps speed LIMIT for this devices ?! That E4 device has ethernet port with 100Mbps max speed (and you'll never get max for sure) and because of that, whole mesh system is limited and it's not recomended if you have fiber optics with speed around or greater than 500 mbps....
    Someone should mentioned that most important info!
