I actually really like how Sodor is populated by one-offs, hybrids, and outliers. To me it really gives the island this "rag tag bunch of misfits" vibe.
But I ove this alternate rebuild headcanon you've thought up to explain this model's looks. I'm never not thinking about Gordon's siblings, so the idea of him actually getting to meet some of his younger brothers and sisters that he wouldn't have in canon really warms my heart.
Gordon is one of my favorite characters in the franchise, and this custom Gordon looks perfect, in my opinion. I especially like the addition of the nameplate. It seems like something he would have.

I think Gordon might've been intended to be an A1 from the start, but since there was no A1/A3 model when Awdry built it, he had to do it with the triang princess, which is hard to convert into a 100% accurate Gresley pacific, specially with the different running plate. So he had to compromise and create the A0 backstory.
Gordon in primer looks like he's in that game on the Thomas DVDs where you had to match the engine to their right color

I personally would’ve loved to see a nameplate that says “Gordon” in the television series weather it would’ve been model or CGI.
I don't usually rewatch videos that have been reposted. I tend to only go back and watch a few specific ones I've enjoyed. I'm making an exception in your case, watching most of them as you post them.

The bright side is that Hornby has a new tender coupling system that is used in their P2’s. Hopefully they retool their other models with it soon.

I wanted to ask Tug, you mentioned the LMS Fowler looked a but small & dinky behind an A3 body. Someone told me there where bigger fowler tenders used that would look good proportionally wise behind a A3 body.
I don't even think any of those exist in model form.
I would like if you add a coridor because it more fits for an A3

Here's an idea,put a "The Shooting Star" nameplate on gordon so hes similar to other A3s that have long names

Hello @ The unlucky Tug I have a question or idea for a video. What’s the Rev Awdry legacy? Since many great authors are being questioned today. Was he a cantankerous person? unpleasant. Or generally a moral man with a passion for railways. Was he as inventive as say Tolkien? As they both go to such detail in their worlds. What would he think of his creation today being a huge commercial enterprise? Is it a good example of life in the past. Being idyllic, nostalgia, or just a rose tinted view? I think although maybe a controversial few questions. It could make a great video as I don’t think many people have produced one like that. As you always put much thought in your videos. Brilliant model! Keep well.

You can try old shape Henry use a A1 with a lot of modifications including a sloped footplate and different tender use the same modified running board use a different body maybe make a C1 body longer and take away the side things on the smoke box on the side.
If he is the first one, does that mean that the Flying Scotsman is his younger brother?

He hadn't made Donald and Douglas yet, and Bill, Ben, and Hiro still haven't been made. Hell, I'm not sure Tug will even make a Hiro.
I know this is a old video but have gou though of making a Prototype Henry or old shape henry, a LNER A1 mixed with C1 (that's right? I can't remember if it was C1 or V1 or a different engine), i think some people make a Old shape henry, i don't know if they are realistic or aim for a more prop accurate design, but it would be cool
