    Hi there…I loved this video! I sanded a plain tray for the first time yesterday and although is beautifully smooth and silky I noticed when I run my finger along the inside bottom it’s slightly wavy 😮 is this normal and if I do go down the line of selling my pieces would this be acceptable along with the odd tiny bubble hole? Thank you 😊

      Thank you so much ☺️ 💓 💗 some tips you might be doing them but just helping out ☺️.
      Try to work in a leveled area and tap it as much as possible .
      After sanding there are different grits of sanding paper you need to use them all.
      Next is important its hand made 😊not going to be perfect tiny bubbles will be there but that's the beauty you need to add this in disclaimer when selling.
      People understand thale beauty of handmade.

    Hello, how long does it need to stay in the mould? Do all moulds need to set for the same amount of time or does it depend on how big or small the mould is? Also how long after you’ve taken it out of the mould should you start sanding? Great video! 🧡

    • @teaandart

      Hi thankyou so much for watching AC100 cures in 20-25 min but for my piece of mind I demold after 30-35 min.
      Yes almost its same for all molds .I start sanding as soon as i demold as its easy to sand that way.

    • @Stephh1896

      @@teaandart so is it bad to let it sit for too long? Because I watched another video that says if you leave it too long (unsure on how long is too long though) it can start to sweat? I also saw you’re meant to let the object sit on top of it mould after remoulding for a bit but again unsure how long that’s for that’s when I came across your video, looking for further answers haha. Thank you for responding, I appreciate it! 🧡

    • @teaandart
      @teaandart  2 роки тому +1

      @@Stephh1896 yes they might refer to like an hour thats really a lot of time but 30 min I never had issue.
      Also for let it sit just few min minutes as removing after 25 minutes its sometimes a bit soft and can crack so depanding on your size of tray you can carefully start sanding.

    • @Stephh1896
      @Stephh1896 2 роки тому +1

      @@teaandart okay great! ☺️ So no longer than 35mins and let it sit to cure and after demoulding, let it sit for a few minutes at least before sanding. Sorry to be a pest with all the questions but last questions- What’s the longest you can keep it out of the mould before sanding? Does anything happen to the object if you don’t sand in a certain time? Also, how long after sanding should you seal the item?

    • @teaandart
      @teaandart  2 роки тому

      @@Stephh1896 yes no longer then 35 min .And you can sand after 10 min of Demolding .
      Its easy to sand as soon but if you don't want to sand soon its totally fine when you feel easy that has nothing to do with any issues.
      Sealing is recommended after 24 hours so let it dry completely.

    • @teaandart

      Thankyou so much Jesmonite is a new product hence available in limited places.
      It always comes as powder qnd liquid both.
      If you buy a kit it comes with Jesmonite pigments as well.
      Chips are made by you they are very easy to create your self i might create a video on how to.

    Hi, thank you for the video. I have just started working with jesmonite. What is the use of applying wood glue and is it any normal interior glue or a transparent one?

    • @teaandart
      @teaandart  2 роки тому +1

      Hi thankyou so much its actually not wood glue its a sealer for Jesmonite its acrylic base.
      Its for protection from scratches and water. Although its not durable as you have to reapply over time If your creation is exposed to water and scratches.
      But If you're using it for decor purposes you don't need to seal.Ido recommend AC100 for indoor decor and AC730 for hardware like soap dishes, plant pots etc

    Hi, do we have to sand it the same day or wait for it to get cured for 24 hours and then do the sanding?

    • @teaandart
      @teaandart  3 роки тому +1

      Hi its better that you carefully sand it same day as its easy to reveal terrazzo if you are wet sanding easy on hands.
      But if you're using a a proper sander machine you can do it after 24 hours.

    With the wax you used, does it make the tray water resistant too?

    • @teaandart
      @teaandart  3 роки тому

      Yes it does but not forever I have to reapply after some time again .
      But Ac730 with penetrating sealer it last much longer.
      Ac100 jesmonite is more of a decorative product. So better to avoid water contacts.
