JESMONITE: should be used wearing gloves, a dust mask and eye safety wear.
This video is 9 mins of explaining the A-Z of everything Jesmonite ... which means I am talking .. If you do not want to know anything about Jesmonite please skip to 9 min mark... you can see me use it.

I don’t know if this is like epoxy resin, but please check out the requirements for personal protection. You need actual respirators with resin. People are getting permanent lung damage because they aren’t using the right protection. Please be safe! You’re too beautiful to die young or have no quality of life! ❤️❤️❤️

@@sherrimiller5258 heyyyy Sherri ... I am safe beautiful ... I wear a respirator, gloves, eye goggles for Epoxy .. and this is not as dangerous BUT you do need to wear a dust mask. I have a dust mask respirator that I wear xxx and gloves when I remember... the jesminite pigment stains like crazy.

@@ClairesCraftyCorner Yes, Jesmonite is water-based and non toxic, so it's a much safer than resin, but the pigments are STRONG, so gloves are definitely recommended! And masks are always a good idea when sanding or working with powders. Love these videos Claire, your passion is infectious! ❤️

In my parents house in Indonesia ( it was in 1990 1st time I saw it), most of decoration pots for plants are using Jesmonite (natural colour) mixed with tiny natural stones with no sealing and it gives effect mat, not smooth surface and looks very nice. This material it's not a new thing and it was very popular back then in my country.

Oh, yes! As soon as you explained that it's non-toxic my heart did a flip! I've been dying to try epoxy, but it'll aggravate my autoimmune disease. In my case, this can be fatal, so that a no-go for me. But there's an alternative?!! Oh, boy!! I didn't even dare dream!! THANK YOU so much for this!!

Thank you for this video. I have made lot of very heavy shutter cast sculptures in concrete and I am looking to reduce the size of my work so it can be cast in rubber moulds like resin can. This has been a very helpful video and it seems to offer me a medium which is somewhere between resin and concrete, and ideal for more detailed work.

Well first, never apologize for being excited. You look fantastic and sound so cute with your accent and excitement lol In regards to this product.... Hmm I'm not sure. It reminds me more of plaster of Paris. Like a stone product or something like that. Resin has that shine like glass quality that is so appealing and you can add so much to it. So basically, if you do both that's ok, each has something but don't stop the resin. Pleeease 😉 is great video as always Claire

I have four question: I appreciate if you help me with them
    1. Is it heavy?

    3. Is it waterproof ? How can we make it water proof?
    4. We can’t put it in dishwasher, correct ?

Jesmonite isn’t new- it’s been around south Asian and south East Asian cultures for a while.
It’s just that white people know nothing about it.
      Big difference.

  • @Luxinda

This seems very similar to a new eco-friendly water-based “resin” I recently bought here in the US from Zuri-inc. Also similar to A1 Creatives in Europe. I did a video on it awhile back and had much the same experience as you. The main difference is I used very shallow molds with thin, shallow areas (like snakes around Medusa’s head). In the case of thin areas, the product advice was to let cure in the mold for 24 hours even though the piece was hard and demoldable after 20 minutes. I did that, but the thin bits were still easy to break even weeks later. So in that situation, it’s nowhere near as durable as epoxy resin. Very much like plaster. Anyway, I LOVE your videos and can’t wait to watch all your Jesmonite series to learn more!!!!! Thank you for a fantastic UA-cam channel 🥰
