AMAZING Haul I enjoy Peter James - I enjoyed spending time in around Brighton when I lived in UK so reading his books brings back fond memories. Hope you enjoy
@@MeMyDogAndBooks not sure but his books all set in and aroind Brighton and I just love it when you read books set around places and I can "see" it and just "be" there if that makes sense 😺
Loved The House on Cold Hill by Peter James! There’s also a follow up to it that was good, will be reading more by Peter James. Got mine from library also hope you enjoy. 😀📚
Just back from visiting Wigtown! What a great place for any book lover !! Old and new . Also visited Toppings - oh my goodness what a fantastic place and the other bookshops on Leith walk .
I'm so looking forward to hearing your thoughts on The Centre, one of my favourite books of the last 12 months! The film Brooklyn is wonderful, I haven't read the book so I'm hoping it'll be relatable enough to read Long Island
📚 I just started Big Swiss, and I’m genuinely curious what you would think about that one. So far it’s an interesting mixture of humor and suspense, but there is definitely a dog/dog person insider perspective that makes me feel understood. Not necessarily a recommendation, but it might be worth reading the first few pages if you come across a copy. 🐕 🐶
You’ll be pleased to hear I’ve read it, it’s utterly bonkers I actually struggled to write a review on my good reads for it but I found it quite unique!
📚 Loved this! Dark matter is a favourite of mine. Great for those with vivid imaginations! Have fun with your switch I'm a big fan of cosy games so hope you enjoy 😊 House on cold Hill sounds good
📚 Another great vlog. At this time, I'm reading Factory Girls, by Michelle Gallen. I've loaded up my Kindle recently because I'm going on vacation, leaving on Monday. And I've added the Alexander McCall Smith book to my Kindle!
I really enjoyed Into the water , perfect for autumn 🍂🍁☕️ I always seem to be disappointed with Ruth Ware books , The death of Mrs Westaway was sooooo boring 😂🙈📚
📚I like Sandi Toksvig so I look forward to your review of “Friends of Dorothy.” One of her TV shows that I very much enjoyed was “Extraordinary Escapes” on Channel 4. Each episode shows Sandi in a different holiday hideaway with a different female guest. Guests include the likes of Sarah Millican, Sara Pascoe, Jenny Éclair, and Suzy Izzard (formerly known as Eddie Izzard) and more.
📚You don’t have to read Colm Toibin’s “Brooklyn” to enjoy “Long Island.” It stands perfectly well on its own. However, since Brooklyn is a very good film, I’m sure you’d enjoy watching the film, and then reading “Long Island.” p.s. Toibin is pronounced toe-BEEN.
I have read Brooklyn but not Long Island yet. It's pronounced Col-um. I had the pleasure of meeting him at a book event at my local library and he signed a book for me. I also got to meet Joseph O'Connor the writer (Brother to Sinéad O'Connor) both men were very lovely. With Girl with a Dragon Tattoo, I read the first one, DNF'ed the second, skipped the 3rd, read the 4th and loved it. Dying to read 5,6,and there is now out a 7th which is the first to be written by a woman. I just have to pick up The Vanishing of Aveline Jones, also from the library I have The Black Phone and other stories by Joe Hill, The Deathless Girls, White Smoke, Pumpkinheads, The Pumpkin Queen (a spinoff of Nightmare Before Christmas) And from NetGalley I have, The Keeper of the Key, Rules for Ghosting and The Spirit Collection of Thorne Hall I was hoping to finish the An Ember in the Ashes series but for some reason the library hasn't gotten them in even though they say "available" they didn't know why but fingers crossed.📚
Some great reads I love pumpkin heads and I hope you like Aveline Jones. I knew I’d pronounce the author of long island’s name wrong that’s for the correction!
@@MeMyDogAndBooks So far i like the first two Aveline Jones books so my hopes are up. It was just you asked to let you know how how it was pronounced. I hope I didn't offend
📚📚📚📚📚YET ANOTHER FANTASTIC VLOG.,, NOW TO START SAVING THE PENNIES. 🤗🤗XX

Ooh is Peter James from Brighton?

Great haul Johanna. Sadie Walker is Stranded sounds. Dark Matter is a good read as is the Peter James. Zero Days is good.
Oh I’m very glad to hear you’ve enjoyed these books makes me excited to read them!
You are my favourite You Tuber xx
That is the kindest thing to say thank you so much. ☺️

I’m very happy to hear this - thank you!
I've read Dark Matter and Thin Air by Michelle Paver and loved them both. The horror comes from what your mind creates while reading them. Good haul!
Oh I think I’ve read thin air - must check. That’s sometimes my fave horror!
📚
Thanks so much for watching 👀

Now you’ve just been visiting some of my favourite bookshops glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Loads of books there to add to my pile thanks . And as a player of switch/ animal crossing I hope you love it as much as I have over the years 🤗
Just waiting on the animal crossing game to arrive so I can give it a shot

I have been reliably told that you can watch the movie and read Long Island as the movie is very close to the book! I can’t wait to get to The Centre!

Off to Google the factory girls! Have a great holiday, you might get to Alexander McCall smith before me so let me know what you think if you do!
@@MeMyDogAndBooks Factory Girls reminds me so much of Derry Girls. Love that.

@@MeMyDogAndBooks Everybody gets it wrong. I got it wrong too until I heard an interview with him. 😁
Please read The Boy In The Stripped Pyjamas before you read All The Broken Places. The latter is the sequel to the former. Both are really good.😊
Noted! I didn’t realise that!!! Thank you, will keep an eye out for that one in the charity shops first 🩵
