Thank you for this video on scratchbuilding, Paul. Very informative and well done. I would like to point out that "scratchbuilding" models does not require that your hands be scratched up. Youch! Cheers from Wisconsin.
From one fellow scratchbuilder to another "sure what's the fun in that when you can scratchbuild one yourself"! Too true mate, great little video! Cheers Steve
Good work Paul. I must say you have done a fine job there it certainly turned out looking really good. It just shows that you don't need to buy a kit!.- Nicholas.
I have reached a sad age 33, an age where I am interested in sad hobbies, but I simply can't help it, I am in love with making model railways and I love your videos.
@@GalgormHall Haha that is good to hear Paul, well my friends certainly think it is sad haha. Not at all Paul, your videos really helps me, so thanks allot
Great video Paul. Thank you for sharing this scratch build. I will certainly try this as I wanted to add one or two greenhouses to my projects and this helps a lot.
I've made a hash of glazing frames on everything I've scratch built for the layout so far - every window frame or panel on the wonk, glue smudges, much swearing and buildings ruined by shoddy glass. Lay it out over a paper plan - now what didn't I think of that! Got a few scratch building projects coming up (including a greenhouse), but going to go back and fix the glazing in the ones I've already done thanks to watching your work. Looking forward to watching some of the many videos on your channel. Thanks for taking the time to film and upload - all the best, Colin. Subbed.
Hi Colin, thanks for the sub. The glazing I’ve done here is by no means perfect and as I mentioned in the video the use of Glue and Glaze would probably be preferable to plasti weld and certainly superglue but I was trying to rush through for the purpose of the video. The drawing beneath certainly helps for added precision though. Best of luck with the projects. Paul
@@GalgormHall Looks a whole lot more perfect than any glazing I've been doing so far. Keep meaning to buy glue and glaze - I've heard good things about it. What I have bought is a set of right angle magnetic clamps to glue walls together at 90 degrees. They've made assembling buildings so much easier - at least it's one less area on the wonk.
@@GalgormHall Sure I paid about a tenner for two units. They get used for everything now, a much more relaxing and reliable method of assembling walls. They're brilliant.
Hi Paul, another fine scratch build from the master. I have the Wills lean-to greenhouse in my stash of kits to build. I already know it won't be as good as yours. Looking forward to seeing you scratch build tomato plants. lol. David.
The joy of scratch building is making exactly what you want how you want it, especially when one has your high level of skill. My days of scratch building are probably in the past, unless the new meds suddenly help. It is always a joy to see what you create and how sharp it is when done! Great work, sir!
Hi Paul. Nice scratch build. Very intricate detail. Got to admit I've just cheated and used the Metcalfe kit for a garden in my village. Don't think my fat fingers could manage that. 😂 Cheers, John.
¡Hola buenas tardes Paul! A cracking little project and, demonstrated in you usual professional manner.A great tip for other modellers, for applying any glazing units to their own scratch builds. As ever stay safe and well. Un salado. Gary
Brilliant timing Paul, I am getting to the stage with a warehouse I’m building that I have to make some roof lights which are similar in some respects to your greenhouse. I was starting to think of a way of making some kind of jig but having seen how you started it by drawing it on the graph paper I think that maybe a nice easy solution for me, cheers for now Paul, John
Hi Paul anther great video mate I really injoy it I bet you are will please with Accurasale bing out the nir mk2b coaches I am hoping they bing out the latter br mk2c coaches to 0the9 mk2b coaches are looking great put as I model the wcml in the 1980s the mk2c coaches fit in better for me LMR/SCR had a lot of mk2c coaches in the 1970/80s but not a lot of mk2b coaches then I wonder if Accurasale/mir will do a class 101 locomotive in the future mate stay safe and well mate I hope to meet you same time soon goodbye for how clive

@@GalgormHall But I just learned today, that Rod stewart has got one of the biggest train sets, so maybe it is not so sad after all hehe
Rod Stewart, Pete Waterman and I think Sandy Toksvig are all in to their model railway. Paul
That has to be one of your quickest scratch builds to date. Nice job
You could well be right Davie. 😆 Paul
Very well done Paul! An excellent build and a great presentation. Thank you and best wishes, Alan, Langley, BC
