One of my favorite Kinks songs. This song is Ray's tribute/memoriam to his older sister, Rene, age 31. She was visiting her childhood home in London at the time of Ray's 13th birthday. She had given Ray a new accoustic guitar. Later that night Rene, suffered a fatal heart attack while dancing at the Lyceum ballroom. You shouldreact to their song "Celluloid Heros".
The Kinks were part of the British Invasion & had a lot of hits. I especially love their music from the 60's & 70's. "All Day & All Of The Night", "Set Me Free", "Tired Of Waiting For You", "A Well Respected Man", "Dedicated Follower Of Fashion", "Sunny Afternoon", "Dead End Street", "Waterloo Sunset", "Autumn Almanac" etc.
