It's excellent I can remember doing that when I was 16, 60yrs ago
Well done, as always, Faye! Just a superb band! T hnx for the smiles!
Glad you enjoyed it🤗🤗❤️❤️
I think The Kinks are a bit overlooked, obviously there was a lot of competition, but I always rated them more than The Beatles, they appealed to me more anyway, a lot of tongue in cheek humour and I just generally preferred their sound
Sure💯I also love them🤗🤗
A good vibes song
Sure💯🤗❤️
May i suggest
Primus
Thank you for your suggestion 👌👌, can't wait to check it out , Much love , stay tunned 😍❤️❤️
Nope Poco not the wimpy stuff but CMON live from the Midnight Special....with Rusty playing Pedal Steel with his chair...Country Rock instead of the wimpy stuff
Ray and Dave had six older sisters, but this one was for Renee who was visiting from Canada and after giving Ray his first guitar on his 13th birthday, suffered a massive heart attack and died while out dancing with friends. This is a moving tribute to her and it honors and celebrates how she lived . . . thanks elizabeth
Sweet! The Kinks dropped "Come Dancing" when I was in high school. The funny thing about it now is that more years have passed since the song dropped than passed between then and the times the song is about. 1957 was twenty five years before 1982 and 1982 was 42 years before 2024. I'm not sure if I should feel nostalgia for 1982 or 1957! 😄
Both my good man. They are two dates in our shared rear view mirror but we still draw breathe. Love the Kinks and Mozart, but nostalgia only for the former! Be well!
😁😁🤗🤗❤️
Much love❤️❤️😍😍😍
I like songs but don't always pay attention to the band. For years I thought this was some island reggae group. My daughter set me straight. She knows more about my music than I ever could.
Aww! Thats nice 🤗🤗 , Much love ❤️❤️say hi to her
Growing up with Rock'nRoll, I am so excited to see it be reborn, or whatever is happening with it. To watch the joy of discovery in all who listen is delightful, and I always seem to get the biggest smiles watching your reactions! Wonderful.
❤❤❤❤❤❤

Hi...!!!
IMHO, you have to dig up to "You Really Got Me" -1964.
And what is it about?
First Proto-Punk song. First Hard Rock tune. First distorted guitar sound (deliberate). First Power Pop example. First Garage Music that went to N° 1 world wide. And the first use of a power chord riff to drive a song.
C'mon... this starts everything!
And what about another Kinks' gem: "All Day And All Of The Night"? -1964 (first Proto-Metal track).
It must be said that the Kinks started almost everything...
First Raga Rock (eastern drones) with "See My Friends" -1965, wich featured first use of controlled feedback and gay-suggested liricks.
And Ray Davies did Sociological Poetry before no one.
And The Kinks created the anglocentrism in Pop Culture.
Then they presented the first conceptual video clip ("Dead End Street" -1966).
First thematic LP: 'Face To Face' -1966. First conceptual album ('Village Green Preservation Society' -1968). First rock opera ('Arthur' -1969).
They also introduced Brit Pop, Indie Rock and Vaudeville Pop.
First ecological anthem with "Apeman", and first gender self-perception himn with the transvestim ode "Lola", both from 1970.
They were the first rock band to mutate into a theatrical troupe (first half of the 70s).
Almost forty years of career as a band.
More than forty official albums.
And Ray Davies, surely on the podium of all-time pop songwriters, is recognized by his peers as the quintessential London poet.
PS: GSTK.
Thanks a lot for this info, i haven't listened to most of the songs you mentioned and I'm now looking forward to listening to them, thanks to you❤️
@@africareact How can a band be so well-recognized, and so underrated at the same time?
Perhaps because they are mostly known for some particular aspect (of the many of their long and incredibly prolific career)... But the general public does not always have a total perspective of everything they have achieved, and how really important and influential they have been.
Then yes; they are recognized... but not at the level they really deserve.
PS: In my country everyone knows the Rolling Stones and the Beatles. But you can't find anyone who has even heard of the Kinks.
IMMO, that same gigantic level is what they deserve.
And in global terms.
@@andrespalacios1122 it's sad that they are not well known and recognised as they deserve 😔
@@africareact The Kinks... Perhaps the most paradigmatic example of a band that did NOT agree with a certain 'black hand' of those who decide (and not only referring to what concerns the entertainment business)... Those who decide and set the agenda in turn towards the various bosses... Be they from the music industry, or from any other branch of mass entertainment... Very interesting story of a group that, having everything to take to the world and sweep away the rest, was inconceivably left with the nickname of losers... And they carried it proudly, almost brandishing it as a banner for four decades against all odds. Initiators of countless sonic, stylistic, lyrical, conceptual and even format experimentations, The Kinks refused to become another MK Ultra device of mass distraction... Something that other contemporaries and fellow compatriots evidently accepted. And, as a consequence, the Kinks were not only expelled from the US... literally exterminated and segregated by the entire industry on both sides of the Atlantic for several years... Also criminally coinciding with the band's moment of greatest creativity.
Love the kinks they they have nothing but great music. Very underrated band but they held their own, against the power house bands. Now check out there music off the charts. Most underrated band ever.
Sure must check it out💯
They were a 'powerhouse' band in their own right.
Love the Kinks!!
❤️❤️
Heard this song in the 80’s when it came out, still a classic, Great reaction beautiful!
Aww! Thank you
Just being honest
Come Dancing 😉
Much appreciated Paul, and of course Fay. ❤❤❤❤
You are so welcome❤️❤️🤗🤗
Check out Life On The Road and Do It Again
Sure💯 , i must check it out ❤️❤️
I saw them in the mid-eighties. They were so out of it they couldn't play.
Downing a bottle of snaps and hitting myself over the head with a garbage can lid would have sounded better.
😁😁
Yeah , the Davies brothers were really having it out then. Lots of punches thrown.
Much love 😊
Much love too ❤️
Ah, Fay- you get it as always. One extra facet you might not know: yes, Ray is the writer, singer and rhythm guitarist here, but their even younger brother Dave Davies is the lead guitarist of The Kinks and is credited as being one of the fathers of guitar distortion. Me- I'm a fan for 60 years now- yikes. Peace, love and bellbottoms.
Wow that's nice , Thank you for the info ! such a talent, i enjoy listening to the band
Nope that was Neil Young
@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN The Kinks: "All Day and All of the Night" -1964.
Buffalo Springfield: "Mr Soul" -1967 (Some say 1966 in Canada). Peace, love and hockey pucks.
One of the big 4 bands (Stones,Who,Beatles),and my favorite, The Kinks, to come out of England in the '60's, and invade the U.S.
Am Glad you enjoyed 🤗🤗
I love the way you think!!!
That #5 slot is a near impossible call thus validating your point!
I do love others, as we all do, but those 4 changed the landscape for good!
Be well Rock friend!
@@nickrizzi4927 You can put 'Dave Clark Five', 'Herman's Hermits', and 'The Animals' in the second tier. Maybe even 'The Yardbirds'
@@erolbulut2584 yes on all!! Almost said them too, but the deal was with the devil, so had to negotiate accordingly. DC5 and Animals so overlooked. Great calls!! My first Bio teacher was right out of grad and pushed H's H on us 8 days a week. Our Trig teacher was Doors, and Chem was a Dead head. Great education!
AND DONNIE AND MARIE
"Don't Forget To Dance" from the same album is another great tune by them.
Thank you for your suggestion😊😊 , can't wait to check it out 🤗🤗💯
Much love , Stay tunned ❤️❤️😍😍
Okay not great...bet you loved Tiptoe through The Tulips
They also did a great Xmas song Santa Santa give us your money, we ll beat you up if you get us annoyed....
'Father Christmas', not 'Santa, Santa'
@erolbulut2584 yup but Those are the words....for those of you that like to list all the words to wimpy songs I shortened it
I watched the song and I loved it a lot. Here is my reaction to it in case you missed out
