I didn't peal skin, use toothpicks or use a glass jar. I started mine in a pot and in three weeks she started sprouting. I was so happy! Central FL is so perfect to grow them.
It just stays the same, if the seed is submerged in soil & gets too wet then it rots and falls off. I assume once the plant gets very big it might split altogether and come off 🤷♀️
Growing an avocado tree from a seed is easy. What's hard is living long enough to get any fruit. Spend a little money and buy a grafted tree. You'll see fruit MUCH sooner.

If you only plant the roots what happens to the seed that is sticking out 😮

I've attempted many times to grow an avocado tree..they sprout ok and grow..but before they can get more than 2 leaves ..my Siamese cat eats them..😂 🙀
Oh noo 🙈 avocado trees are so pretty! Maybe keep it somewhere your kitty isn't able to reach it

Definitely! Its just an experiment and I like how it looks as a house plant 😊
