    Avocados are pretty trees. I have them come up all over my gardens from my compost lol -, the easiest way I've found to propagate them is just to put the seed in soil in a pot :) :)

      Oh wow that's amazing - I don't think they'd survive here in the UK that way! 💚

    I found my advcardo pip growing in my compost bin, fished it out into a large pot, it is now four foot high. I have it indoors winter, and greenhouse in summer.

    I just did this in the Spring of this year!! The directions I had found had me keep the seeds, in a damp paper towel in a bag, the dark!! I had mine in a drawer in my kitchen, lol. After the roots grew, I put them directly into soil. I did two as my own experiment. One was refrigerated and the other wasn’t. The refrigerated one grew, but slower than the other one and it’s still shorter than the other. I was too chicken to trim them so they’re not very bushy. I’ll keep them in my window through the winter and then trim them in the Spring.
    Thank you for sharing! 💜💚🪴

      I've grown mine in the dark before and it's worked fine, but I did the same as you and tested a few in different conditions and found that the ones that received light tended to root faster. On the whole colder conditions usually slow down plant growth so that makes sense! Congrats on the avo plants and hope they're keeping healthily 😁 🥑

    Will the avocado last outside in the winter? In very cold temperatures?

    Hi! Loving your video! I have a silly and basic question: Once the avocado is a plant with a proper root system and the leaves above, how often should I change the water in the little jar it's suspended? Thanks for this precision! ^_^

      @toururururururu 10 місяців тому

      Well you shouldn't keep it in water cause of root rot you should move it to dirt and since it's still used to water id say water daily

    Is organic soil with perlite good to use? I have a seed that has split and 3-4 in roots. Have it in water with toothpicks. Getting ready to put in soil. ❤️⚘️🥑

    My plant is not only growing sideways but I have noticed a few of the leaves turning brown on the edges. How do I encourage it to grow upward instead of branching out? And could the leaves with the brown spot be root rot? If so, how to fix? Thanks!

    Thanks. I get they seed going, plant them, can get them about 1 1/2 ft and bang! They die!

    • @TheJungleHaven
      @TheJungleHaven  2 роки тому +1

      Do you find they die pretty quickly after you've planted them? If so, maybe wait slightly longer for the root system to be a bit bigger before transferring them to soil. They're such fragile things when they're that young - sometimes potting them up too soon can send them into shock x

    I have a question, so, I've got a avocado that has about 4 inches of root system and about 3 inches of stem. With 3 leaves just starting to form.
    I see on other videos, people suggest to cut the top off about half way. Should i do this? If so, when?

    Starting the seed is the easy part. Waiting twenty years for fruit is the hard part. Bite the bullet and buy a grafted tree.
