I'm trying to build my tolerance to hot peppers. Right now I can tolerate about half a bhut jolokia and sit at a 8/10 pain scale. You are an inspiration!
When you talked about the pain and finding something good from it. For me it's the flavour. Bhut Jolokia is one of the tastiest peppers I have ever eaten and I look forward to eating it every time I go home.

This brings back memories... while living in Bangladesh I ate a green Naga Morich pepper (no training). I was jumping up and down, crying, sweating... but when you mentioned the ear burn in the middle of the head, I knew right away what you meant.

In all seriousness, you've inspired me to order my first tinctures (Reaper Vintage 6M from Seriously Hot Peppers). I've been using pods for nerve pain control for ten years now, but I've run out of things that trigger the same response. Didn't even know these things existed before you.
@mikeisu If I'm not mistaken, capsaicin only irritates pre-existing ulcers, they don't necessarily cause new ones to form because of the "heat"

i have a question for you i have eaten a few hot sauces "Last Dab" and "The End" first is 1.5mil shu second is 6mil shu my question is why can i handle these sauces better then i can a simple habanero
Sean, Habs have their own unique flavor, and are usually used to up the heat in sauces, versus trying to compliment said flavor. Not to mention, it depends on the Hab strain itself. Spanish Habs, usually orange, are fruity and about 100k scoville-ish. Red Savina Habs on the other hand, can get to the 800 to 900k. Personally, I usually have a problem with habs being mixed with chipotle jalapenos. Here's the problem, there is a chipotle jalapeno, however, most "chipotle jalapeno peppers" in ingredients lists, are regular jalapenos that have been smoked on a grill or something to that effect for commercial uses.
I don't understand why I like habs that I've grown, or bought at the store, I can eat, but if a hab sauce has chipotle, which most do, it tastes like pure t butt. Cheech Marin's sauce and Da Bomb "beyond insanity" come to mind. As a pod, it should be ok though. Especially if you can eat the Last Dab, which I'm finally getting to later this week, and higher. But I did a Facebook live last night, and I messed up and had the Tabasco Scorpian sauce (supposedly only 50k shu), and Da Bomb back to back, and had to tap for the night. Why? Tabasco Scorpion lulls you into a "hey, this is just a smokeyer, slightly hotter version, and bam! takes your face for like 10 minutes, creeper style. Then, I went to Da Bomb within a few minutes, and got double whammied. Mainly because of the faux "chipotle" in Da Bomb. That sauce tastes horrible and is just an all out mouth burn.

My uncle is like you Mr. Scoville, he eats ever meal with fresh habanero peppers. 3 meals a day. I guess growing up in West Texas and eating Tex-Mex most days will train your gut to withstand the capsaicin. Blessings for your intestines and colon.
Awesome man! But I assume the dried ones are not as hot as the fresh ones? I made a sandwich with the darkest most evil looking repear I could find for my first time trying one. It was much hotter than the ghost peppers! (I have no tolerance to hot peppers but always loved em) It released endorphins for me I felt like a 15 minute ecstasy trip. I highly recommend everyone try a fresh reaper. They're good for the heart too
